2013 4chan Summer Cup

The 2013 4chan Spring Babby Cup was the seventh official 4chan Cup tournament, the third iteration of the Babby Cup series, and the second Spring edition of the competition. It was played on the weekends of May 3-5, 10-12, and 17-19, 2013. As winners of the previous Babby Cup-tier competition, /wg/ were the hosts of this tournament. The cup was won by /mlp/ after defeating /tv/ by 4-0 in the final.

The tournament featured a mix of teams that failed to qualify for the 2013 4chan Winter Cup in the 2012 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, and teams that were relegated from the previous Winter Cup.

This was the first tournament hosted by commissioner Gracen Ivorinne.

Competitors

Thirty-two teams competed at this competition. Sixteen of the teams qualified by means of relegation from the 2013 4chan Winter Cup, and the other sixteen qualified by means of failing to advance from the 2012 4chan Autumn Babby Cup.

Draw

The draw for the group stages was made on Monday, April 29th at 17:00 UTC. Teams were placed in four different pots based on seeding. Official rankings following the 2013 4chan Spring Babby Cup Friendlies were used to rank teams. All of the highest-ranked competitors were placed in Pot 1, the next-highest in Pot 2 and so on until all four pots contained eight teams.

/3/, /an/, /diy/, /ic/, /o/, /s/ and /vp/ were disqualified from this competition for being significantly influenced by Dragonfag. Their results in this tournament were judged to be void and their opponents were awarded wins. The aforementioned teams received no ranking points for their participation in this tournament.

While Dragonfag was part of the testing team at /mlp/, his lack of significant involvement meant they retained their trophy and ranking points.
