In all of North American professional hockey, only the Original Six teams of the NHL and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League have played continuously in the same city with the same name longer than the Fort Wayne Komets. The tradition and deep history behind the Komets, as well as its home being the home of the /komets/ manager, is more than enough to warrant it as a new team in the upcoming /hoc/ League.
