/s4s/ history
This page represents a textual summary of the complete history of /s4s/'s performances in the 4chan Cup.
Founding
[s4s] was founded on May 17th, 2013, being the fastest of the Provisionals to properly make a team, starting and finishing in less than a day. Due to cup regulations, however, the team could not compete in the upcoming Summer Cup, not allowing [s4s] to officially compete until the 2013 Summer Friendlies. The team was allowed to participate in unofficial friendlies hosted by future Cup commissioner, DrBorisG.
2013
Summer 2013 Friendlies
[s4s]'s first official matches were played in the 2013 Summer Cup Friendlies, against fellow shitpost-friendly board /b/ and fellow Provisional /gd/. The first match did not go as planned, with /gd/ dominating the entire match, and [s4s] only scoring a consolation goal late in the second half. They did manage to win their second match ever, with the only goal of the match coming from then-Silver AMF Quads in the 22nd minute.
Autumn 2013 Friendlies
For the Autumn 2013 Friendlies, many roster changes were made to the roster, most notably in the net. New addition Doge took over longtime starting goalkeeper Refu's position and had his first game against /an/. Questionable tactics by still-raw manager DoubleNigger allowed the defense to stay too far forward and allow two too many through-balls to get to Honeybadger, and [s4s] lost 2-0. Goalkeeper Doge managed to reedem himself after that performance, making a clutch penalty save against /fa/, stopping a sure goal that would have given them a 1-goal lead. Shrek scored the lone goal of the match and [s4s] held on to win, 1-0, going 1-0-1 for the second straight friendlies.
2013 Autumn Babby Cup Qualifiers
Before [s4s]'s first official games, new height regulations brought down by the 4CCC forced [s4s] striker Shrek to lose his Speed Merchant card, as well as become a SS instead of a CF. However, it would soon be seen that these changes did not affect his ability to score goals. [s4s], as well as the other provisional teams and the worst-performing teams from the most recent Babby, were selected to compete in the first ever Babby Cup Qualifiers. [s4s] was drawn into Group B, along with fellow Provisional team /lgbt/, and poor performers /o/, /wsg/ and /3/. [s4s]'s first official tournament began on the right foot, as a Shrek brace, and a goal each for Patrick Bateman and Top Kek gave [s4s] a 4-2 victory over /o/. In the second game against /wsg/, another Shrek brace gave [s4s] a two-goal lead that held firm until late in the match. A Duane goal in stoppage time cut the [s4s] lead to 1, but [s4s] was able to hang on for the win. In the 3rd game against /3/, Shrek scored yet another 2 goals and Bateman scored his second of the tournament, and [s4s] took the 3 points with a 3-0 victory. By this point [s4s] had already clinched promotion into the 2013 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, but the final game, against also-advancing /lgbt/ was still to be played. /lgbt/'s Alfred Kinsey opened the scoring with an 8th minute goal, but Shrek responded in the 65th minute to level the score. [s4s] pressed throughout the remaining 25 minutes, forcing /lgbt/ keeper The Closet to make 3 saves, but the final whistle blew before they could net a winner, ending the match in a 1-1 draw. Both [s4s] and /lgbt/ finished the Qualifiers with 10 points and 10 Goals Scored, however, [s4s] topped the group due to allowing a goal fewer than /lgbt/ and therefore having a better Goal Difference.
2013 Autumn Babby Cup
[s4s]'s first ever Cup performance can be summarized in one word: Disappointing. In their first ever official tournament performance against /pol/, [s4s] started out with an early 1-0 lead - thanks to a 34th minute goal by Shrek - but allowed Jews to equalize 6 minutes later, and Stormfront scored with less than 10 minutes to go to give /pol/ the 2-1 victory. In the second group stage game, [s4s] barely managed to draw to a managerless /cgl/, with Shrek equalizing in the 65th minute, after /cgl/ player Kipi gave the Seagulls the lead in the 25th. In their final game, [s4s] needed a large enough win to overcome a negative goal difference, and a /pol/ victory against /cgl/ in order to advance to their first Elite Cup. After a double-brace performance by Shrek gave [s4s] a 2-goal lead into the second half, there was still a small fraction of hope left. Sadly, the last 23 minutes killed off all remaining hope, as Robot9001 finished off his own hat trick by leveling the score at 4-4 and dooming [s4s] to relegation. Even with an amazing 6-goal group stage performance by Shrek, [s4s] were relegated with a disappointing 2 points and -1 goal difference, and were once again playing in the Babby Cup Qualifiers.
2014
2014 Spring Babby Cup
[s4s] was originally slated to play in the the second installment of the Babby Cup Qualifiers along with a mix of 15 other teams. However, the tournament was cancelled, and [s4s] and the other competitors were granted entry to the same cup they were originally trying to qualify for. During the "offseason" between Winter and the draw, [s4s] gained a new manager under the name of King Mango. [s4s] were the first team to be drawn into Group B and /o/, /tv/, /vr/, and /hr/ soon followed. [s4s] played their first game on matchday 3 against /o/ and lost 2-1, with the team's lone goal coming from new gold striker [s4s]-Tan in the 90th minute. In their second group stage game against /tv/, Bateman and [s4s]-Tan put 3 goals in the back of the net, but /tv/'s Big Guy was simply too big, and the game finished as a 3-3 draw. In their third game against /vr/, a purple-conditioned Bateman scored in the 42nd minute to take the lead, and [s4s]'s defense managed to hold on with a little help from Trollpost, winning 1-0, and putting their destiny in their own hands for their final game against /hr/. On the final day of group play, [s4s] were 3rd in the group and needed a win to advance to the Round of 16 and their first Elite cup. A goal by Bateman in the 13th minute gave [s4s] the lead early. But after >1000x1000 equalized for /hr/ 8 minutes into the second half, things looked bleak. All there was left to do was go All-Out Attack, and luckily, it didn't backfire, as a brilliantly-placed throughball from an out-of-position Shrek went directly to Bateman and he converted the opportunity easily, winning [s4s] the game 2-1, and sending them through to the knockouts and their first Elite cup. In the first ever randomized knockout stages, [s4s] drew /ic/. However, all other information on the match that occurred on the 26th of April, Two Thousand And Fourteen is permanently lost, and the match shall now be referred to as 'That Game'. After an amazing final-day surge to the top of the group, an utterly destroyed [s4s] was out of their first knockout stage performance.
2014 4chan Summer Cup
In what has been described as one of the most boring cups of all time, [s4s] was able to provide some of the most exciting matches. Despite /soc/'s manager at the time being seen as an autist who constantly tried to change the cup's format to his advantage, [s4s] got a 4-2 win over /soc/. With 11 total shots (10 on target), [s4s] looked surprisingly dominant in this match. /pol/, the champions of the previous season's Babby Cup, came into the next [s4s] match as a favorite, but a 2-2 draw - featuring a Cory Baxter backheel goal later voted as Goal of the Tournament - left them in a very dangerous spot in the battle to avoid relegation. After /soc/ and /pol/'s 0-0 thriller, [s4s] could relax since this result meant that only a blowout loss against /asp/ would eliminate them. The W/asp/s got a 2-1 win that left [s4s] in second place of the group. The round of 16 got [s4s] drawn against /x/. A mostly uneventful first half ended 0-0, but a goal by /x/ Silver The Grey 4 minutes into the second half gave /x/ the lead. [s4s] desperately pressed throughout the remaining 44 minutes for an equalizer. Leaving it late, [s4s]-Tan scored with a measly 9 minutes and stoppage separating [s4s] from elimination to level the score at 1-1. The match went to Extra Time, and after neither team scored in the extra 30 minutes, the match went to Penalty Kicks. However, a questionable decision was made in the kicking order, with goalkeeper Le Purple Palmtree Man selected to take the potentially deciding 5th kick. This decision proved to be [s4s]'s downfall, as LPPTM's effort was easily saved by /x/ keeper Urbex and sent [s4s] crashing out of their first Elite Cup knockout stage.
2015 4chan Winter Cup
[s4s]'s 2015 started off on the right foot, with a 3-0 win over /m/ that the /m/ Council will be calling bullshit about for years to come. They weren't done rolling yet, however, as the second game against familiar foes /x/ loomed over the horizon. A Dubs goal late in the first half gave the Keks the lead, and then the floodgates opened. Patrick Bateman scored an astounding 4 goals in 22 minutes in [s4s]'s path to a dominant 5-0 win, giving them the honor of the first team confirmed for knockouts and putting Bateman at the front of the race for Golden Boot, with four goals. The last game was the most anticipated, and /mlp/ was playing for far more marbles than the already-confirmed [s4s]. An [s4s] win would give them the elusive title of "9 Point Master Race", and a win by /m/ in the following game would mean that whoever would be joining [s4s] in the knockouts would come down to goal difference. That never got to happen, however, as [s4s] couldn't maintain their early lead gained from a 3rd minute [s4s]-Tan goal, with /mlp/ equalizing in the 22nd minute, and that scoreline held until the final whistle. The fun was far from over, however, as now cup-favorite [s4s] went into the round of 16 to face /sci/. A familiar scoreline for [s4s] saw the game end 3-0 in their favor, with a fifth overall goal for Patrick Bateman and a brace for nonmedal striker D A N K M E M E S. This result meant a new milestone to [s4s]'s history: their best ever cup performance. Unfortunately, [s4s]'s luck seemed to run out in the final day of the Cup. Even though the former /tg/ manager TheDM rolled a measly 3 on his legendary D20, it proved enough, as a nail-biting first half ended 3-2 in /tg/'s favor, a score that would stand to the end, giving /tg/ the road to their first Elite Cup victory, and leaving [s4s] fifth in the tournament, and ninth in overall standings. [s4s] gracefully bowed out of the cup with its best 4chan Cup performance ever. With the end of [s4s]'s play in the Winter Cup also came the end of an era: longtime manager DN retired after 22 months in charge, leaving carmastrikes and DescendingBear as co-managers.
2015
2015 4chan Summer Cup
In '15, /gd/ released this, Fore-3, their most accomplished game. I think their undisputed masterpiece is ">>>/r/ brace in 89' and 90+'", a brace so catchy, most people probably don't remember the Bateman hat trick. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of being PES'd, and the importance of paying off the Refs, it's also a personal statement about rigging itself. Hey, [s4s]! TRY GETTING INTO THE KNOCKOUTS NOW, YOU FUCKING STUPID BASTARDS! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Actual Summary
[s4s] was drawn into Group C along with /mu/, /gd/, and /sci/. The first game of [s4s]'s second Elite cup -- played against /mu/ -- was below the standards set by last cup's performance. /mu/ went up with a 23rd minute goal from MC Ride. However, a goal 20 minutes into the second half, as well as an amazing block by Youd Be Suprise on a through-on-goal MC Ride rescued a point for the [s4s]quatches. In their second game, things got off to a much better start. Courtesy of an [s4s]-Tan hat trick and a goal from Bateman, [s4s] obliterated a very weak /sci/ side 4-1. After the second day of play in Group C, [s4s] was second with 4 points, just behind /mu/ who also had 4, and ahead of /gd/ with 3 points, and an already-eliminated /sci/ with 0 points. This left [s4s] in a good position, with higher than a 75 perent chance of finishing above the relegation zone. Ahead of the final game against /gd/, [s4s] controlled their own destiny: Win or draw, and advance to the knockouts. Lose, however, and the team would be relegated. A back-and-forth first half ended 2-2, and the second half continued the theme. Questionable defending from /gd/ allowed Bateman to complete his hat trick and give [s4s] a 3-2 lead. That scoreline stayed the same until the 89th minute. A well-placed throughball allowed non-medal attacking midfielder >>>/r/ to tie the game for /gd/. This scoreline would have promoted [s4s], but during [s4s]'s goal concession time-out, a questionable substitution was made, one that would go down in cup history. Flowre, a non-medal centerback who had never played a single game for [s4s], was brought on. Directly after being brought on to the pitch, Flowre challenged /gd/ player Helvetica horribly. Flowre was immediately and deservedly sent off, leaving her all-time stats for [s4s] as follows: 1 minute played, 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 passes, 1 red card. /gd/ was able to take advantage of the space created after the sending off, and in the absolute dying moments of the match, >>>/r/ placed a brilliant ball just beyond the reach of goalkeeper Swaglord. An amazing game, one voted by the /4ccg/ as the most exciting game of all time, ended 4-3 in favor of /gd/ after a heart-breaking collapse in the final 3 minutes, and [s4s] was for the third time playing in the Babby tier of competition.
2015 4chan Autumn Babby Cup
After one of the most disappointing endings to a group stage in 4chan Cup history, [s4s] went into the 2015 Autumn Babby with high hopes of showing that they were still one of the strongest teams in the Cup. DrBorisG's RigDoraTM placed [s4s] into Group H along with /3/, /a/, /adv/ and /toy/. [s4s]'s first game was a dominant 1-0 win over minnows /3/, forcing /3/ goalkeeper Quads Only to make 8 saves. Their second game against /a/ showed that despite being relegated and losing their Elite status, /a/ were still a strong force in the Cup, with /a/ taking the 3 points with a 3-1 victory. The third game against /toy/ was by far the most eventful and exciting. /toy/ striker Woody scored a hat trick, but it wasn't enough to prevent an [s4s] victory, with a Bateman goal late into added time securing the full 3 points for Dubs FC. Going into the final game, [s4s] faced a similar scenario to that of last cup: a win or draw would send [s4s] back into the Elites, and a loss would keep them in the Babbies. A 12th minute goal by /adv/ player Femanon dampened [s4s]'s hopes of advancing, but a quick reply by [s4s]-Tan rejuvenated the team's hopes. The rest of the match was mostly uneventful, but an 87th minute Patrick Bateman goal, thanks to questionable /adv/ defending, secured the full 3 points, advancement into the Knockout stages, and a deserved return to the Elites, via promotion to the 2016 4chan Winter Cup. The randomized knockout stage draw pit [s4s] against one of the strongest competitors still remaining: /sp/. As expected, the match was an offensive shootout. [s4s] took the lead in the 31st minute with a Patrick Bateman goal. Topkek followed with a goal of his own 9 minutes later to double the lead. This scoreline held until the end of the first half. In the second half, /sp/ finally responded to [s4s]'s first half offensive juggernaut with 2 goals from >he does it for free in the span of 13 minutes to level the score at 2-2. However, 5 minutes later, Bateman finished off his own brace to take back the lead for the Keks. But again, [s4s] just could not hold on to the lead. /sp/ quickly responded in the 82nd minute, with legendary /sp/ striker MESSI leveling the score once more. This scoreline held until full time, and neither team were able to break the deadlock in the first 15 minutes of extra time. However, with 9 minutes remaining until penalties, an unlikely hero wrote his name in cup history: bench CMF Snek Court was able to put his shot - and the game - beyond the reach of /sp/, and [s4s] moved on to the quarterfinals to face /pol/, with their best ever performance in a Babby Cup already secured. However, the [s4s] ride came to an abrupt end when /pol/ simply outplayed [s4s], and sent [s4s] out in the Quarterfinals with a 2-0 loss. Despite a disappointing end to their Babby Cup run, [s4s] had secured a place in the the next Elite Cup, which they looked forward to with anticipation.
2016
2016 4chan Winter Cup
[s4s] hoped to begin 2016 off on a high note, drawing all-too-familiar foes /gd/ and /r9k/, and 2015 4chan Summer Cup finalists /g/ in Group G. In the first game, [s4s] took the lead in the 7th minute with a goal from Patrick Bateman and never looked back, demolishing a very weak /g/ side 4-0 courtesy of a hat-trick from Bateman as well as a goal from [s4s]-Tan. In their second match against /r9k/, [s4s] took the lead in the 25th minute with another Bateman goal, but a familiar antagonist showed his face: Robot9001. Well known was his performance in the two teams' 2013 4chan Autumn Babby Cup meeting, in which he scored 2 late goals to level the score at 4-all and prevent [s4s] from potentially advancing. Yet again, he scored another late goal and prevented [s4s] from taking the full 3 points. This left [s4s] at 4 points heading into the final day of Group G. A win or draw would send [s4s] through. A loss and /r9k/ win by a margin large enough to allow /r9k/ to overtake [s4s] on goal-difference would relegate [s4s], since the top spot in Group G belonged to already-confirmed /gd/. Hoping to finally put a victory on the board against hated rivals /gd/, [s4s] attempted to intimidate the opposition through anthem choice. However, this tactic backfired horribly, and an utterly ravaged [s4s] allowed the /gd/ offense to wreak havoc in the [s4s] half of the pitch throughout the entire match. Kerning and Helvetica both scored a brace for /gd/, and [s4s], to put it simply, got FUCKING REKT. This utter annihilation put [s4s] in a very tight position, with a 1-goal win by /r9k/ being enough to send [s4s] out of the tournament. However, /r9k/ could not convert against already-relegated /g/, and the entirety of the [s4s] team breathed a sigh of relief as they headed into the knockout rounds. Comissioner DrBorisG's patented RigDora pit [s4s] against /asp/ in the 3rd Round of 16 game. After a mostly uneventful beginning for the two teams, Nice Grill opened the scoring with 4 minutes remaining until halftime, but /asp/ striker American Dragon leveled the score right at the end of the half, and the two teams went into the break at 1-1. Bateman scored in the 59th to take the lead back for [s4s]. This goal seemed to be enough...the key word there being seemed. With 30 seconds to go until the end of the match, the [s4s] defense simply had a lapse in judgement. Multiple failed clearances left the ball directly at the feet of Boxing + Judo, and after doing nothing more than tripping over Swaglord for most of the match, the /asp/ striker was able to instead put the ball over Swaglord with the cheekiest of chipped goals. Two uneventful periods of extra time led to one of the most spaghetti-filled penalty kick shootouts in 4chan Cup history. After a total of 7 missed attempts for both teams, Swaglord was able to redeem himself by converting the winning penalty kick. In the quarterfinals, [s4s] competed against /mu/. An eventful first half ended with [s4s] leading 2-1. But this lead was short-lived, with /mu/ leveling the score 9 minutes in, thanks to Sufjan Stevens. David Bowie gave /mu/ the lead with 16 minutes to go, and [s4s] were unable to level the score again, with their best chance sailing just wide. [s4s] were out in the quarterfinals yet again, but this performance was far from disappointing. After the end of the match, manager carmastrikes posted in the [s4s] thread announcing he would be taking a temporary hiatus from managerial duties, citing health and school as the reasons for his departure.
2016 4chan Summer Cup
Returning with the same management from winter, despite a declared hiatus, [s4s] entered Summer 16 with high hopes. With /gd/ and /mu/ impossible matchups for the group stage, there were no worrying rivals to keep them up at night. Drawn into Group G, alongside fellow memesters /tv/, previous babby winners /m/, and the /biz/nessmen, [s4s]'s third Summer Cup was a striking reversal from its first. In 2014, [s4s] was a shining beacon of goals in a barren wasteland devoid of hype. In 2016, when the goals flowed like oil from from the ground, [s4s] sat hard on the toughest defense of the group stage, with an average goals per game similar to that of 1.12. In an opening match against /m/, Topkek and Bateman had [s4s] up by two by the 61st minute, but /m/ fought back brilliantly with a 4 minute brace from Alteisen Reise, to end the game 2-2. Undeterred, both teams pressed on and struck down their foes in the following game. This time, /m/ was able to unleash their offense, putting forth a handy 5 goals against /biz/. /tv/ turned out to be smaller guys than the giant robots, and fell 2-1 to [s4s], who were led by another goal each for strikers Topkek and Patrick Bateman. /tv/ laid on a deadly siege in the dying minutes of the game, which led /tv/ to have higher postgame stats, but a missed shot ended the game. [s4s] went into the final day needing not to lose to secure a spot in the knockouts, but /m/ ended /biz/ and /tv/'s hopes in a single fell swoop by delivering /tv/ another 2-1 defeat. This benefited an underprepared [s4s] greatly, as they marched into the pitch against final opponents /biz/ with a newfound confidence. Playing a strange and untested 3-5-2 formation instead of their traditional 4-2-2-2, the team gave a good show against /biz/, doing their best to have fun, rather than win. Unfortunately for /biz/, all work and no play meant they couldn't keep up with the fresh (from having skipped practice that weekend) [s4s] players, in particular the active midfield, where Silver Center-mid Nice Grill slotted a surprising goal early in the second half to follow Bateman's goal in the 30th minute. [s4s] left the group stage on 7 points and two goals per game, with two 2-1 wins and a 2-2 draw, second in the group, behind /m/. The tides turned for the team, however, as the memers drew /adv/, a team which had demonstrated a brutally effective offense in the group stage, despite being shown up by /an/ in their third match. [s4s] put forth an extremely disappointing effort for the game, starting with an egregious and amateurish managerial error, symptomatic of a manger looking a little too far into the future, towards retirement, rather than the game at hand. The game opened with a 9th minute Suicide goal, giving [s4s] the chance to make the needed changes to repair their tactics. Unfortunately, the weak start meant [s4s] were unable to capitalize on the first half momentum, and, while they held on for nearly 70 minutes of goalless action, the game was already over by the time Suicide scored his second, and Relationshit gave /adv/ a third in the 86th. The whistle blew on the game, and on [s4s]'s knockout run, with a frustrating 15th place finish. The final weekend of the Summer brought good news alongside the bad, however, as the team's community outreach program finally succeeded at finding in Squidposter and Shouganaina replacements for aging manager carmastrikes, as well as >finally setting free the ghost of DN. With a Pot 2 berth in Winter 17, [s4s] has a tough road ahead, but were ready to bring the memes and post-irony back to the cup once again, in a season that has historically been friendlier to the team.
2017
2017 4chan Winter Cup
After an inspired performance in the 2016 4chan Winter Cup, [s4s] were drawn into Group G of the following Winter Cup, alongside /asp/, /u/, and /n/. In their first match, two goals from Bateman and one from Topkek sent /n/ on their way to the Wooden Spoon with a 3-1 drubbing. In the second group stage match, the boys (and grills) of Dubs FC couldn't prevent Big Match John from overcoming the odds, and fell to a 1-0 loss. In the third and final match of the group stage, it was a relatively simple feat for [s4s] to get through to the knockout stages and remain in the Elite tier: a win, by any margin, would send [s4s] through over /u/. A brace from Topkek - amid admittedly dire defending from /u/ - later, and [s4s] had qualified. And things only heated up from there. Boris's patented RigDora drew an all-too-familiar foe for [s4s]'s Round of 16 match up: hated rivals /gd/. Three matches against /gd/ had come and gone, with [s4s] failing to get any form of positive result. But the fourth matchup had yet to be played, something both sides were looking to take advantage of, as this showdown represented more than just your average rivalry match: a spot in the Final Day of the Cup and a minimum-top-8 finish would go to the winner. [s4s] attempted to attack right from the very start, and to put it in the most simple of terms, it didn't fucking work. [s4s] started the match off on the back foot following a goal from Kerning three minutes into the match, and from then on it only got worse. [s4s] were 3-0 down by the thirty-fifth minute, and 5-1 down by the half-time interval. Bateman scored his second in the fifty-eighth, but by that point [s4s] didn't even have pride to play for. [s4s] were dumped out in the Round of 16, battered and bruised yet again by THAT.FUCKING.CAT. [s4s] looked forward to the 2017 4chan Summer Cup to avenge that loss and to prove that they are still a force to be reckoned with in the Cup.
2017 4chan Summer Cup
Having been drawn into a group with their Winter Cup groupmates, /asp/, as well as /wg/ and /his/, and with new co-Manager Fapoleon, Dubs FC knew they had a long road ahead of them if they were to advance and maintain their status as one of the most consistently Elite teams, alongside /asp/. That road got even longer after a first-match 3-2 heartbreaker against /his/, as a part of a weekend that resulted in nearly all of the Elite teams losing to their newly-promoted counterparts. After a week of contemplation, testing, and a shakeup in livemanagement, [s4s] strode onto the pitch against /asp/ with their heads held high, before barely managing to claw their way to a 3-3 draw. Something was wrong in Dubs FC headquarters, but no one on management could quite put their finger on it, so they kept going- a win in their last match, if the wind blew their way, could still mean advancement for them, and an even angrier reception into the RO16 than after their victory against /u/ last cup. It wasn't fated to be, however, as the same issues that had plagued the squad all cup were to rear their heads again against /wg/, with a Descartes brace handing [s4s] a 2-1 defeat and sending them back to the Babbies for the first time in recent memory.
2017 4chan Autumn Babby Cup
The 2017 Autumn Babby Cup draw saw Dubs FC get put into Group A with the great Anime giant /a/, the mighty Pokemons /vp/ and KHHEV /r9k/. [s4s] started their Autumn Campaign with a hard 3-1 loss against /a/, despite leading 1-0 up until 80 minutes. Dubs FC knew they had to do something, so they entered the next match against /vp/ very strong, and didn't get fugged and managed a 2-1 win over them. Going into the final day, because of the other group matches, [s4s] needed a win by two or more goals over /r9k/ to advance directly, or win by one or draw, and hope that /vp/ either draw or beat /a/. The match was going well for Dubs FC, with a Topkek brace granting them a nice 2-0 Lead. But in the 90+1 Minute, Eliot Rodger of /r9k/ showed us why PES is PES and with a weird chested goal ended the match in a 2-1 loss. Now all eyes were on the last match of the group, and despite it starting well for [s4s], in the end /a/ won over /vp/ 3-1, and because of a better Goal Difference advanced over Dubs FC. Despite finishing with 6 points, [s4s] didn't make it to Winter, but not all was lost, as the team looked forward to competing in the 2018 4chan Spring Babby Cup, where their Niceness and Politeness would hopefully get them a place in the Summer Cup.
2018
2018 4chan Spring Babby Cup
After the disappointment of the previous Autumn, Dubs FC and its supporters were looking towards the upcoming Spring for positive results. Returning this tournament was the Megababby format, [s4s] were drawn into Group B, along with /t/, /c/, /a/ and /jp/. The first group match, against /jp/, went mostly to plan, as a Bateman goal and a kek-worthy Slut Sanae own goal gave [s4s] a 2-0 win. However, :^) was a little too cheeky, and got himself sent off through a straight red card obtained in added time of the first half. The second match, however, did not turn out as well, with the other half of the [a/jp] duo running rampant and winning 2-1. [s4s] led at one point in the match, with Bateman opening the scoring in the 19th minute, but /a/ eventually managed to have some of what would become 12 shots hit the back of the net. The third match, against much-maligned /t/ was what one would call "a punch to the throat". [s4s] went down by a goal twice (with 50 Threads and ThePirateBay scoring at 24 and 55 minutes respectively), and both times were able to draw level, with Bateman responding in the 41st and Keksandra leaving the second equalizer until the 87th minute. However, >uTorrent again flung the Pirates in front at the death, and repeating the feat a third time was simply too much for [s4s]. The fourth and final match against /c/ was a solid 3-1 victory, a back-and-forth match in which [s4s] were able to convert their chances, with Bateman bagging a brace and Keksandra getting a goal of her own two minutes into added time. Dubs FC looked to have done enough to get through to the next round of play with their acquired point tally. Alas, /jp/, having a match in hand, were able to control their own destiny, and they did exactly that, dispatching of /c/ with a 5-2 win, and leaving [s4s] stuck in the Babbies on 6 points for the second Cup in a row.
2018 4chan Autumn Babby Cup
A second consecutive 6-point heartbreak for [s4s] meant that things had to be shaken up. Ojamajo Doremi, Spikeman, and Kogasa, as well as former team stalwarts le millenom grill, D A N K M E M E S, and BAVI were all sacked, replaced with debutants Flube, zrg, and Merula, as well as Reserves promotions Introducing, Jack Ruselel, and Dubs. The draw saw [s4s] put into Group A, along with some very, very familiar faces: /o/, who [s4s] had played twice prior (the 2013 Autumn Fetus, and the 2014 Spring Babby), /wsg/, another opponent from the 2013 Autumn Fetus, and /mlp/, who [s4s] played in their magical Winter 2015 run.
As for the matches, it could be said much of the Cup's audience underestimated Dubs FC, with what came next. The curtain raiser for [s4s]'s Autumn saw them take on /o/. With goals coming from Topkek and a Bateman penalty after Squids viciously brought him down from behind, [s4s] trounced /o/ 2-0. The dominant [s4s] defense and deadly attack seen in that match would follow [s4s] into the remaining two group stage games. The second match saw [s4s] take on /mlp/, who were arguably fallen giants after their disappointing run in the prior Summer. A 4th minute goal from Cup legend >rape saw the ponies take an early lead, but from then on it was all [s4s]. [s4s] equalized 9 minutes later, thanks to a heavily deflected effort from Nice Grill hitting the back of the net. In the 33rd minute, /mlp/ centerback Thanks M.A. Larson dawdled in possession, Keksandra closed him down brilliantly and played a lovely ball to Topkek. He rifled a first-time effort past Hasbro Internet Security and [s4s] took the lead. Following the half-time restart, Patrick Bateman almost extended [s4s]'s lead immediately, with a powerful shot unluckily rifling off the crossbar. But, he wouldn't have to wait long to do just that. In the 52nd, fullback Jack Ruselel charged up the right wing and played an excellent sliding ball in to Bateman, who hit the back of the net from close range and made it 3-1, and the strength of the [s4s]quatch defense meant the score at full time was just that. Despite [s4s] winning both of their first two matches, promotion was not 100% percent confirmed, meaning a swing in goal-difference large enough would see yet another heartbreak come [s4s]'s way. From the 10th minute on in the final match against /wsg/, it was evident that this would not be happening, however. Nice Grill charged into the box and tapped it past Get Out, grabbing her 2nd goal of the campaign. Gondola brought it level in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be little more than a consolation as from that point on, the floodgates were open. A well-worked corner saw Keksandra head it in to give [s4s] the lead, a lead they would further extend through another excellent cross from Ebin to Topkek four minutes after played resumed. Subs were brought on at 64' and 75', one of whom was Flowre, who infamously received a red card in a certain match against /gd/. Now a midfielder, Flowre would potentially have a chance to redeem herself, and in the 85th minute, she would do just that. A free kick to [s4s] saw the ball fall directly to her feet, and she let off a first-time volley which flew into the net to make it 4-1. The referees signaled for a minimum of four minutes of added time, and [s4s] would make use of every minute of those four and then some. A failed headed clearance by /wsg/ saw the ball go to to Topkek, who in turn headed it to Keksandra, whose half-volley goal in the 97th minute would be the last kick of the game, as the match ended in a commanding 5-1 victory.
This meant [s4s] had finally successfully promoted back to the Elites, doing so in dominant fashion: the final table would show [s4s] achieving the storied 9 Point Master Race with 10 Goals For against an impressive 2 Goals Against. [s4s] were at that point among the favorites to win the entire Cup, but sadly, these dreams were quickly and agonizingly dashed. The Round Of 16 draw [s4s] face /wg/ in the first match of the penultimate day of competition. An unprecedented two-at-the-back formation saw /wg/ overload the midfield, allowing them to take the lead in the 12th minute through I Am Very Sad, a lead they would hold until halftime. Bateman would equalize for Dubs FC with just over 30 minutes to go, and that 1-1 scoreline would hold through past full time, as well as the first half of extra time. However, as play resumed, the unthinkable happened. /wg/ kicked off with Helios receiving the pass in the center circle, and in an attempt to win the ball, Bateman played an absolutely abhorrent challenge, two-footing the Greek from behind. He was sent off. It was the first card of his career. It came 19 seconds into the second half. The Ess-Force, now a man down, immediately parked the bus, desperate to hold on until penalties. They would valiantly do just that. Sadly, they could not steal the match from the spot, with poorly placed kicks from :^) and Swaglord sending [s4s] crashing out, 1(4)-1(3). However, the result only stung so much, as [s4s] could now look towards the 2019 4chan Winter Cup with desire and ambition.
2019
2019 4chan Winter Cup
After three Babby Cups in a row, [s4s] finally managed to break away from the babby curse and get back into the Elite cup. Poised and ready to show all the other teams how to be nice, [s4s] was drawn into a very tough and strong Group H, which included /sp/, /vr/, and /mlp/ (Best Friends :^) ). First match of the group was against an always tricky and capable /vr/, but with Winter 19 being run on >PES 16 the game went only one way from the very start, with [s4s] taking a dominant 5-2 victory over /vr/, thanks to braces from both Topkek and Bateman and a cheeky Keksandra goal at the 66th minute for Nice Dubs. The following match brought the "best friends" match against the two star horses of /mlp/. And that match ended anything but friendly for [s4s] as the team suffered a big 5-2 loss to the ponies, Keksandra and Bateman being the only scorers for [s4s]. With that loss, [s4s] needed a win in their last group match against the mighty /sp/artans of /sp/. Tensions and hyp was high as Boris's apartment nearly burned to the ground in the match prior (/mlp/ vs /vr/). The match began, and many believed that [s4s] had no chance in this match against a strong team like /sp/. Those doubts were washed away in the first 45 minutes as Keksandra already had a brace to put [s4s] 2-1 up. And from there, it was as if the Gods of Lel and Kek had blessed [s4s], because Keksandra ended up scoring a double brace in that match, with Topkek also netting a brace and Bateman also contributed in the goalfest, which ended the match in a crushing 7-3 cictory for [s4s]. Fun fact from that Match: Keksandra scored the 7th goal at the 77th minute which was the 7th shot on target, check those digits. The echoes of that match were heard all across the 4chan cup, and caused serious turmoil in the /sp/ managment. As for [s4s], an elite knockout was finally here again for the first time since winter 17, and a spot in the Summer Elite was secured.
In the KO draw, [s4s] was matched up against /g/, which looked unstopabble in the group stage. Matchday dawned, and the match was a huge nailbiter, [s4s] had a 3-2 lead thanks to a Bateman hat trick, up untill 90+3, when Install Gentoo managed to score a last second buzzer and bring the game to ET and cause a huge heart attack in the [s4s] management. nevertheless, as ET began, things were incredibly close, and at the end of the first ET, Top Kek managed to get the score up to 4-3 for [s4s]. But as second ET began, /g/ brought it back to 4-4. As the time went on, and ass clenching got stronger, the match seemed to be going to benuldies. But out of nowhere Top Kek scored at the 117th Minute and brought [s4s] to their first elite quarter final since 2015. Next opponent was a surprising /biz/, who reached their first ever elite knockouts. From the start of the Match, [s4s] took a commanding position on the pitch, with a rock solid defense and ball control, and the first half ended a surprisingly boring 0-0. Second half began, and Patrick Bateman found his way to the goal and scored for a 1-0 lead. After that Keksandra and Topkek also scored, to bring the final score to 3-1 for [s4s]. Thus, [s4s] reached their first ever elite semi final, and facing them in the semi was the even more surprising team of /3/. During the match, it was extremely close to call, as both teams had a goal a piece, with Keksandra scoring for [s4s]. Extra time began, and in the ET, /3/ shown to be the better team and with a goal from Utah Teapot at 105+1 sent [s4s] to the THIRD PLACE match.
And what a Third Place match it would be, as the team [s4s] had to play was none other than summer champions /vg/. The stage was set for an exciting match and it turned to be exactly that, with [s4s] taking an early lead thanks to Keksandra scoring two goals in the first 20 minutes to bring the result to 2-0 for [s4s]. However, /vg/ shown why they were the summer champions, and by the 80th minute thanks to a GOGETA DA brace and an Apex goal, the result was 3-2 for /vg/. Things seemed bleak for [s4s], but as always, Patrick Bateman is there when most needed, as he leveled the game at the 83rd minute from a corner kick header. Match was entering the 90+ period and it seemed like Extra time was Again gonna happen. [s4s] got a corner kick at 90+1 after which nothing was the same. SES Took the kick, with one of /vg/ defenders clearing the ball, the ball coming outside the box to Nice Grill, and she shot the nicest blooter ever, into the top net, to score her first and only goal this cup, despite being a medal. That goal however was the most important of the cup you could argue, as thanks to that amazing goal, the match ended 4-3 for [s4s], and [s4s] was the winner of the THIRD PLACE TROPHY! Nice Grill's squat toilet blooter was also declared the goal of the tournament, aswell as Keksandra taking the joint best player of the cup award, to complete the most successful cup in [s4s]'s history, and leave on high marks towards the 2019 4chan Summer Cup.
2019 4chan Summer Cup
Coming into the summer cup as the 3rd place team from winter, [s4s] had alot to prove in order to defend that title. The draw saw the team get put in a very strong group with fresh 2019 4chan Spring Babby Cup champions /i/ and finalists /c/ aswell as the now autopilot /k/ team. Being settled in Group F, it looked like it was going to be a hard task to stay elite and advance into the RO16.
The first game was against /c/ and from the get go it was obvious nothing was working in the team, now with some new fresh faces on the team (most notably Akko). The cute girls dominated the whole match, and despite the result only being 1-0 for /c/ it could have been much worse. Hope now rested on the game versus the current spring champions and a team that has fully unlocked PES 18, /i/. Hope was basically the best description for the situation before the game, because during the game [s4s] got fully rekt by /i/ 4-0. This meant [s4s] had 0 Points and a GD of -5 with no goals scored.
A grim outlook was most likely, the team facing demotion to babbies unless a miracle happened. And it nearly did, as /i/ beat /c/ 4-1, it opened the door for [s4s] to advance if they beat /k/ by 3-1 or any other 3 goal win. Despite Bateman scoring the first goal for the team at the 22nd minute (Checkem), it was not enough, as the gun nuts of /k/ soon leveled it. Essfouress tried and tried to score more but it was to no avail. Match ended 1-1 and [s4s] was sent to the 2019 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, where it hopes to gets its keks back into place and perform much better for all the nice fans.
2019 4chan Autumn babby Cup
With [s4s] FC on autopilot and seeking new management, the team was drawn into a group of /wsg/, /b/, and /bant/. The PES gods decided that this rude group would almost rudepost [s4s] to the edge of taking home the wooden spoon, but thanks to a draw of 3-3 against /bant/, the spoon was avoided. [s4s] ended the cup with 1 point, 2 losses and a draw. Without a manager it was not looking bright for the nice and kek loving fans of essfores. Only Swaglord knows what the future will hold for this ebin team.
