This team is out of date! / BORIS, DON'T YOU FUCKING IGNORE THIS.
The most recent changes made to this team (whether they were related to the formation, players or mentality), weren't shown in their latest official game. Boris should add/remove these things by the next time this team plays in order to avoid butthurt.
Reason: Updated for Winter Cup - tactics, roster, kit, etc... (Added on 17-11-2013)

/a/, the winners of the inaugural 2011 4chan Summer Cup, are a mainstay of the 4chan Cup theater and have a loyal following.

Despite a disappointing 2012 4chan Winter Cup, /a/ was in the hunt for glory at the 2012 4chan Summer Cup. Drawn in Group 2 with /m/, /pol/ and /g/, /a/ sought to defend their Summer Cup title as the third-placed side in the rankings. Unfortunately, a brutal loss to /pol/ kept them out of the second round. Now the team looks forward to 2013 to prove to the world that their original Cup win was not a RIGGED fluke.

Match History

Main article: /a/ Match History

Rivalries

/a/ vs /sp/ - The /a/sp/ie Derby

/a/ and /sp/ have never gotten along. Shots are fired among these boards every now and then, with the most notable example being /sp/'s ONII-CHAN~~ video. However, 2011 was the year this feud reached new heights. On top of Japan winning the Women's World Cup against the USA in the final that year and /a/ rubbing it in on /sp/'s sticky thread for said match, /a/ would also eliminate /sp/ from the first 4chan World Cup after a memorable come back. At the last minute of injury time, /a/ would complete a 2 goal comeback to force the match to go to extra time with the score being 3-3. In the end, /a/ eliminated /sp/ via penalty kicks and would go on to become the first champions of the 4chan cup after beating /ck/ easily.

/a/ vs /v/ - The "Tsundere Bowl" (a.k.a. "Tsun-derby")

Plenty of /a/nons play vidya, and plenty of /v/irgins watch animu, but every time they get together the two sides want to beat each other into a pulp before admitting to any crossover between their boards.

/a/ vs /b/ - The Old Firm (a.k.a. "Cancer Derby I")

These are two of the oldest boards on 4chan, and with /b/ becoming more cancerous over time after no longer being Anime/Random, /a/ has a bigger hatred for /b/ than most boards.

/a/ vs /jp/ - The True Weeabowl (a.k.a. "2hu Derby")

Several years ago, every /a/ thread was ripe for a hijack about Touhou, so after enough bitching moot decided to exile all the Touhou fans to /jp/. Which side holds the True Weeaboo spirit? The winner of this match gets a dakimakura with character of their choice, courtesy of the losing team, accompanied by a sudden rush of self-loathing.

Trivia

  • /v/ never won against /a/ and currently, their worst defeat is a 4-1 loss to /a/. It should be noted that /a/ was winning 4-0 in said match and PES 2012 had crashed at the 60th minute, forcing Germanbro to restart the match and rig it so /a/ would get the 4 goals back.
  • /sp/'s only win against /a/ was in a 2012 Winter Cup friendly via penalties after the match ended with the score being 0-0. Currently, /a/ has had the better record in this rivalry with 3 wins and 1 loss. However, due to much of the information on those Winter Cup friendlies being lost, those matches are not reflected in the team's official records. Torres McIlroy, /sp/'s most successful manager, has notably chosen to avoid facing the team.
  • /a/ was the first team to defeat /m/ in an official 4chan Cup match.

Honors
