History

2012-2014

The /co/ squad's official inaugural competition was the 2012 4chan Winter Cup, in which they replaced /int/. An eager new team to the pitch with a lot of heavy hitters, fans are often divided about the squad's lineup, and continually on the brink of a reboot. The team's anthem has changed back and forth since the formation of the squad. /co/'s original theme was the Justice League theme; but the theme for the Summer 2012 Cup was "Sweet Victory" before being promptly changed back to JLU. Afterward, the anthem was once again changed back to and currently remains "Sweet Victory". The team colors are red and yellow. Leading up to the 2012 Summer Cup the team underwent a large roster update to better represent both comics and cartoons. The team has a history of performing well but not exceptionally. Former manager SpreadsheetAnon has gone as far to describe the team "criminally average". After a surprisingly poor run in the Group Stages of the 2013 Spring Babby Cup and the Dragongate Scandal the team was promoted back into the Summer Cup with new managers and a revamped formation and roster. Sweeping the group with 9 points, they were then one and done. In the 2014 4chan Winter Cup they only managed 4 points along with the rest of their group, but it wasn't enough to escape relegation. The team revamped one again for the 2014 Spring Mega Babby, finally retiring long serving player Tucker. However, the new additions to the team weren't enough, as they once again failed to advance to the elites. The 2014 Autumn Babby Cup saw a much greater change, bringing in Doom as /co/'s newest captain and gold however the filthy peasants of /co/ did not understand Doom's will resulting in a failure to advance being grouped with 2nd place /e/ and 3rd place /wg/.

2015-2016

They entered the 2015 Spring Babby Cup with low expectations from fans and other viewers alike. A 1-5 defeat to /m/ had people confirm their doubts about /co/. The team eventually stepped up, sweeping the rest of the group to advance to Summer. /co/lette got herself red carded in the last match of the group stages, having to play /b/ down a medal player. Many had doubted /co/ but with a surprise performance by The Flash and a continued consistent performance by Doom, managed to defeat /b/ giving /co/ their first ever knockout win in the current format. Doom continued to impress this whole cup, scoring at least once in every single match /co/ had played in. They made easy work of /n/ and /d/ to make it to the finals against /tv/ for the great Capeshitb owl. The game was close for all 90 minutes and in extra time, making this the first ever cup final to go into penalties. The teams were tied 3-3 in penalties when in a stroke of poetry >The Flash choked his penalty kick. In even more poetry /tv/'s Capeshit knocked in the last penalty needed for them to win the cup.

The team had high hopes coming into the 2015 Summer Cup. However, they started off the group with a 2-4 loss to rivals /tg/. Hoping to bounce back, they came in hot with a 2-0 lead on /vr/, which suddenly turned into 5 unanswered points. Ending with a pitufl draw, /co/ saw itself relgated. There were hopes the team would bounce back again during the 2015 Autumn Babby Cup. But they didn't. They took 40th in the whole cup. That is as many as four tens, and that's terrible. With a failure to qualify for the 2016 Spring Babby Cup, the team is deciding to shake up their management, adding CuriousAnon to the squad. Hopeful with a fresh face /co/ looked to improve come Autumn 2016. Unfortunately, under pressure the group again failed to break out of qualifiers, sending the team into dire straits. We assume Richards is to blame.

2017

/co/ came flying out of the gates of 2017. They topped their group in the 2017 Spring Babby Cup Qualifiers just barely missing out on the chance to be the sole pot 3 team. That did not stop them however as in the 2017 Spring Babby Cup /co/ emerged as one of the two 9 point master race teams after thrashing /r9k/ 5-0, and getting 2-1 wins off of both /ck/ and /u/. Meeting off vs /wg/ in the round of 16, they got given the dick aesthetically as they lost 1-3, ending their babby cup run but not ending their dreams of Summer.

Much like shades of 2015, /co/'s 2017 Summer Cup campaign was much of the same. They lost a close 0-1 game to /int/ and got thrashed by /g/ 0-3. /co/ had looked helpless these games with star striker Doom nowhere to be seen and set up men like Hope Corgi and the newly appointed Bad News disappointing. In an attempt to go balls to the walls for a win, /co/ ended up falling flat to /gd/ 2-4, just barely escaping last place in the cup. The team now looks to Autumn and hopes history doesn't repeat itself.

Their 2017 Autumn Babby Cup run got off to a solid start. With a decisive 2-0 victory over /k/ and a draw with /vg/, /co/ were looking at a very tight group. A win or a draw would advance them vs /soc/. /co/ managed to thrash /soc/ 6-1 with a hat trick from Aku and a brace from Doom to send them to the top of their group. The duo of Doom and Aku proved wonders as they continued to make their way through knockouts, winning 2-1 over /cm/ in the round of 16 and /tg/ in the quarterfinals. Their game versus /x/ was a nail biter. After going down 0-1 after half time, /co/ crawled back thanks to Hope Corgi and Doom to make it a 2-1 lead. However, being very tired, they gave up two very crucial goals in the last 5 minutes of play, killing their hopes of a 2nd babby cup final. Instead they met /a/ in a tight 3rd place match that resulted in Pickle Rick killing Megumin in the dying minutes of extra time to help force peanlties. This proved very crucial as /a/ had to take penalties down a medal. Despite Pickle Rick choking the 1st kick, Yotsuba and Boku no Pico were denied by Gaston, letting Literally Me score the final penalty to give /co/ the coveted 3rd place trophy of the 2017 Autumn Cup. Now they look towards another elite cup, their first winter cup in 4 years.

2018-2019

/co/ again had a very strong start to the new cup year. Beating down a final day /m/ and /wsg/, they topped their group in the 2018 4chan Winter Cup. Despite taking the day off vs. /d/ and only finishing with 6 points, /co/ was seen as one of the strongest teams of the cup. However, as with /co/, tragedy always strikes. Despite taking an early lead 1-0 vs /u/ and controlling the game for most of it, /u/ found their way back in thanks to late game heroics at 90+ which sent the game to extra time, where /u/ proceeded to win. They went on to win the cup as a whole which lead many to wonder if /co/ had won what could have been. Still shook from the previous match, /co/ proceeded to roll over and die once the 2018 Summer Cup rolled around, being beaten by /m/ this time around and /n/. They showed their usual "only show up for the final match after elimination spirit" by thrashing /t/ 5-0 which saved their placement as a pot 1 team in the following Autumn Babby Cup. There they had a very exciting back and forth with /wg/ which ended in 4-4. They then proceeded to quietly take care of /fa/ and /c/ in the group stages to top their group. They would lose to /g/ in the following match, but hopes were high as they once again qualified for another elite cup, which helped cement their status as a yo-yo team.

2019 saw a return to /co/'s favorite game of PES16 for the 2019 Winter Cup. Despite the power of having Stan Lee on their roster as a memorial, they once again proved that they truly never got the hang of PES16. They lost a heart breaker to a double 90+er up 2-1 vs /d/ and went scoreless vs /w/, however continued their trend of winning when it didn't matter, beating a high powered /int/ autopilot 3-1. Once the cup moved over to PES18 for the Spring Babby Cup, /co/ quickly turned their misfortunes around from the previous cup. Winning against the newly inaugurated team /aco/ 3-1 and /p/ 1-0 while tying /sp/ 1-1, /co/ once again punched their ticket back to the elites. They beat /y/ 3-0 in the knockouts while losing to /c/ 1-2 late into extra time. This gave /co/ pot 3 for the 2019 4chan Summer Cup. Here they've met some familiar faces, being beaten once again by their younger sibling /mlp/ due to magic making the ball go through Gaston's hands. They quickly shook this off with once again another meeting with /aco/ that ended in another strong victory of 5-2. /co/ faced off in a very tense match versus /his/ who were already eliminated, but two Doom goals late into the match helped seal /co/ a spot in the Elite Knockouts, over a year since their last showing. Going up against /toy/, many had dismissed /co/ due to the autopilot uprising that this PES was providing. However /co/ showed the critics wrong, winning 3-0, and giving /co/ their first elite knockout game win since elites were even a thing. They lost the next match to autopilot menace and eventual cup winners /cm/ 0-1. For the first time in a while, /co/ finished in the top 8 of an elite cup and even were finally in the top 10 of overall team rankings with 8th, the highest they've ever gotten. Was this the beginning of a new /co/?

2020-Present

Nope! The following cup, the 2020 Winter Cup, /co/ started off a bit rocky, only tying /v/ 1-1 and a /vg/ who threw choked away a 3-1 lead to end the match 3-3. However there was still hope! With /vg/ tying /v/ as a lead up to the /x/ match, all /co/ had to do was draw at the very least to even stay alive and possibly make knockouts! However, as much as /co/ gaveth in recent times, they also tooketh. Going up 2-0 in the match, /co/ looked completely in control. Much akin to their knockout match years prior in the Autumn Babbys, /x/ proceeded to lay down the law, scoring unanswered goal after unanswered goal, winning 4-2 and sending /co/ back down the the babbies. However this was a /co/ that was well known to bounce back after being relegated. It surely wouldn't be that easy to keep them down.

Their first array into PES19 was met with completely abhorrent results. The team looked like it was just simply not prepared, offense was non existent, and the defense was a joke. They lost a close match to /p/ 0-1 only to get blown out by /wsg/ 0-3. Finally drawing /g/ 1-1, their cycle of yo-yoing came to an end, and once again would have to play in the fetus. Only scoring one goal in 3 matches, it's still a wonder how they didn't become the worst team that cup. Some wonder if they can even make it out again with the quality of teams stuck in the fetus with them.

What /co/ lack in successes they make up for in heart, followed by some of the friendliest and dedicated fans in the league. With their hype mag The Daily Bugle you can always be sure that /co/ will be hyped up for any match they play. If you ever need a team that's fun to watch, throw your lot in with /co/ and prepare for a bumpy ride.
