/fit/ F.C. is the virtual football club of 4chan's Fitness board.
/lit/ Football Club is the virtual football team of the 4chan board /lit/ - Literature. Founded January 9, 2012, it is a veteran of the 4chan Cup. Despite unsuccessful cup runs in the past, /lit/ broke into the 2015 4chan Winter Cup in a big way, earning fourth place and their best ever performance in a cup.

On August 5, 2011, the /fit/ community lost a legend when Aziz "Zyzz" Shavershian passed away. Not even 24 hours later, /fit/ F.C. won its inaugural match against /k/. Forged in the fires of tragedy, /fit/ has been a formidable opponent throughout its history. Owned and captained by their martyr and patron saint, /fit/ have always striven for greatness. They are the champions of the 2016 4chan Winter Cup and the 2017 4chan Winter Cup, making them the only team to win that particular competition twice and one of only two teams to win two Elite Cups.

History
History
/fit/ was founded in 2011 as one of the Original 16 4chan Cup teams and competed in the inaugural Summer Cup that same year. /fit/ put in a solid showing, winding up 6th and setting a standard as a powerhouse of the competition. The team continued its' ascent with a 4th place showing in the following 2012 Winter Cup, putting up a series of domineering performances over /mu/, /co/, and /x/ before being knocked out by /ck/ for the second cup in a row. /fit/ were less impressive in the 2012 Summer Cup, and while 4 points wasn't enough to see the /fit/izens into the knockouts, it was enough for the team to retain its' Elite status and qualify for the 2013 Winter Cup. In preparation for said cup, /fit/zlsperger became the first person to take on the hallowed job of /fit/ manager. With actual human tactics, /fit/ qualified for the knockouts by winning two close games against /vg/ and /sci/, but was beaten in the Round of 16 by /cm/.
/lit/ Football Club was founded on January 9, 2012, when an anonymous :/sp/ user urged the denizens of /lit/ to form a team. /lit/ played its first match shortly thereafter on February 12; a friendly against fellow debutante :/pol/. The fledgling /lit/ team was completely unprepared for the aggressiveness of its opponent, and was subject to a barrage of goals from /pol/ stars Doompaul and Stormfront. The game ended 0&ndash;3 to /pol/. Utterly humiliated, /lit/ set its sight on the upcoming Babby Cup for a chance at redemption. /lit/ failed at this endeavor, however, going out with only a single point to their name, and were forced to play in the 2012 4chan Autumn Babby Cup. Here, they lost 4&ndash;1 to /gif/ thanks in part to a False Dichotomy own goal before a 1&ndash;1 draw with /adv/ kept them alive. Despite winning their next match against /soc/ by a score of 2&ndash;1, they were relegated on goal differential with 4 points.

/fit/ went into the 2013 Summer Cup with high hopes, but those were quickly put to the test with a catastrophic loss to /u/. /fit/ would promptly get blown the fuck out again by /int/, and /fit/ were Elite no more. /fit/zlsperger retired after this poor showing, and /fit/ were forced to face their first Babby without a manager at the helm. /fit/ only got 1 point in said Autumn Babby, and the team looked toward Spring with little hope.
In the 2013 4chan Spring Babby Cup, /lit/ surprised by winning two games in a row, with a 2&ndash;1 win over rival /sci/ and 2&ndash;0 win over /f/ helping them to top their group after a 1&ndash;1 draw with /ck/ and get into the 2013 4chan Summer Cup. In the knockouts, /lit/ won 4&ndash;1 over a rigged /an/ before a 1&ndash;0 loss to eventual runner-up /tv/. The following summer, /lit/'s first Elite Cup proved a massive failure from the start, as they got bulldozed over by a powerful /v/ 7&ndash;0, losing to eventual third place winner /b/ 4&ndash;1, and getting themselves relegated in 2 games. /lit/ did somehow manage to pull /d/ down with them, thanks to a 1&ndash;1 draw.

However, in the offseason, two men arrived who promised to bring /fit/ back to prominence. Weasel and Johnny Rambles took /fit/ into the 2014 Spring Babby cup, a cup which many expected the /fit/izens to promote from. An early win against /d/ featuring an impressive Zyzz header began the campaign with high hopes, but subsequent draws with /tg/ and /int/ left /fit/ in need of a win against /ck/ to advance. Despite controlling the majority of the game, /fit/ was eliminated from a cup by /ck/ for the third time.
In the 2013 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, /lit/ emulated their original Babby run, escaping with only a point to their name (from a draw against a rigged and managerless /fit/) while losing to /f/ and /gd/. In the 2014 4chan Spring Babby Cup, however, /lit/ seemed to be more competitive, and despite a 1&ndash;0 loss to Group E strongman /co/, rebounded for a 2&ndash;0 win over /k/. This gave them an actual chance to put old foe /pol/ in a hard place for survival, and they seemed ready to capitalize gaining a lead at 40 minutes in from a Lolita goal. However, /lit/ lost to late-game heroics on part of the eventual Babby champions, and were relegated to the 2014 4chan Autumn Babby Cup. On the way out, they did manage a consolation point from a 0&ndash;0 draw with the now-struggling /adv/, but it was too little and too late. Despite slight improvements, /lit/ was resigned to yet another season of Babbies.

The 2014 Autumn Babby Cup drew near, and the export deadline came and went. /fit/ management was nowhere to be found. With only one semi-legal export available for the cup, new recruit ThatGreekGuy faced a vexing decision only days into his tenure: play with a rigged as hell export or skip Autumn. He wisely chose the latter, giving way to an eager /t/ team. Weasel retired after hearing of the decision, and Johnny Rambles simply disappeared.
/lit/ surprised early on in the 2014 4chan Autumn Babby Cup; grouped with /v/, /s/, /tv/, and /adv/, their underdog run started with a 2&ndash;0 win over the team that once pulverized them 7&ndash;0, despite having a silver on the bench for the first 20 minutes. A 3&ndash;2 win over /adv/ followed shortly after, before a 0&ndash;0 draw against a futile /tv/ combined with a /s/ win over /adv/ confirmed a /lit/ advancement. The following game mattered for nothing, so /lit/ decided to not take risks, instead handing /s/ a 2&ndash;1 win. /lit/'s demise came in the knockouts, a 3&ndash;2 loss to eventual cup winner /b/. Despite this, merely qualifying for Winter was a big achievement for /lit/.

Shortly after the Autumn disaster, JohnnyBravo added his name to the /fit/ ledger. Even with an entirely new managerial team, nobody expected much from /fit/ in the 2015 Spring Babby Cup. A comeback win over rivals /r9k/ in their first game in over a year gave the /fit/izens early hope. /fit/ followed with a win against /out/, then drew /vp/ and /x/, thrusting the /fit/izens into their first Elite Cup since 2013. Eventual champions /tv/ would beat /fit/ after extra time, but the future appeared bright heading into the Elites.
The 2015 4chan Winter Cup proved a turning point for /lit/. The team's group stage run began with a comfortable 0&ndash;2 victory against high-seeded /wsg/. In the following match, /g/ somehow weathered /lit/'s offensive barrage. The game ended 1&ndash;2 to /g/, turning /lit/'s next and final group stage match into a win-or-perish scenario. Although the odds were stacked against them, /lit/ bravely faced /vg/, the team that placed third in the previous Elite cup. The match proved to be a tough tug of war, with neither side unable to secure an advantage, before a sudden /lit/ fusillade delivered three beautiful goals in quick succession, with /vg/ unable to reply. The match ended 3&ndash;0 to /lit/, and the team advanced to its first ever Elite playoffs. Knocking out one-time cup winners /wg/ 3&ndash;0, and obliterating a strong /asp/ side 2&ndash;0, /lit/ finally fell to eventual winners /tg/ 4&ndash;1. The third place match against /ck/ was lost, avoiding the curse and securing fourth place.

In the 2015 Summer Cup, /fit/ got off to a strong start with a 1-1 draw that featuring poor, yet voluminous, shooting from both sides. /fit/ would follow this up with a 1-0 win over /d/ featuring some unique tactical genius, leaving the team in a good position to advance to the next round as they only needed a win or a draw. Everything came down to the final game of the group against /u/. Each side had their shots, but it was /u/ who made the breakthrough in the 80th minute. /u/ would capitalize for a second as /fit/ pressed to equalize, and the /fit/izens looked toward the Autumn Babby Cup, with the help of new co-manager TheDeek.
Then it all went downhill from there; /lit/'s complete inability to finish in the 2015 4chan Summer Cup or 2015 4chan Autumn Babby Cup doomed them to a return to permababby status despite good performance. The Summer run was marked by late goals from /o/ and /i/ in mostly /lit/-controlled matches as they took a 2&ndash;2 draw to /o/ and 3&ndash;4 loss against /i/; combined with familiar foe /b/'s 6&ndash;0 anal ravaging of /i/ earlier in the tournament, this left /lit/ in a situation where they would have to either pray for a draw from the /i/-/o/ match or win by 4 goals; /o/ took a 3&ndash;1 win from /i/, effectively dooming /lit/ to relegation before they took a 1&ndash;0 win over /b/. The Autumn run started with a 1&ndash;3 loss to /c/ in a game that saw /c/ goalkeeper and eventual Golden Glove winner Ika-chan save 11 shots from /lit/, which ended up amounting to half of her saves in the cup. A decent performance against struggling autopilot /lgbt/ with a 2&ndash;1 victory got /lit/ back into the fight to advance, and it seemed nearly guaranteed that /lit/ would rebound after a 6&ndash;0 demolishing of /vp/; however, /vp/ rebounded quickly with 3&ndash;2 and 1&ndash;0 wins over /pol/ and /c/, while /lit/ once again fell to /pol/ in a 1&ndash;3 loss and tumbled back down to the Babbies.

Hopes for the Autumn Cup rode high as /fit/ was placed into a group that many predicted would be theirs for the taking. The team delivered, dishing out beatdowns to /biz/, /gif/, and /x/, scoring 4 goals in each game and clinching promotion with a game still left to play. To cap it all off, /fit/ ground out a 1-0 win over a surging /out/ team to clinch the 12 point mustard race. The team then turned its' attention to the knockout rounds, and delivered the first knockout round win in club history with a 5-2 smashing of /wsg/. /fit/'s Autumn run would come to an abrupt end at the hands of /an/ in the quarterfinals, but the defeat did nothing to break the team's resolve.
/lit/ would resurge, however, as they had three years before, achieving promotion in the Spring, writing themselves into history on the way with a new cup record scoreline of 6&ndash;5 vs /his/. /lit/ would also set a team record winning streak of four games, after further wins vs /cm/, /o/ and /e/ before coming undone to a losing blow deep into stoppage time vs /vr/, who would go on to place second. The 2016 4chan Summer Cup looked promising for /lit/, but it was not to be; a good start with a 3&ndash;2 win over /an/ was soon undone by a 3&ndash;5 loss to /adv/, and despite finally getting a win over /pol/, /an/'s domination of /adv/ made /lit/ (along with /a/) one of the first teams ever relegated from a four-team group on six points.

The 2016 Winter Cup began with a tentative pair of draws against /asp/ and /k/. /fit/ seemed to be back to their overly defensive ways in the Elites, and needed a win against /soc/ to break the spell of zero knockout appearances. However, the offense came to life in the second half of the final group stage game, smashing through an odd /soc/ buspark to the tune of a 3-0 victory. Drawn against /tv/ for their first elite knockout round game in 3 years, /fit/ delivered their first victory in said stage with a dominating 2-0 performance in which they did not allow a single shot on target. In the quarterfinals against /s/, /fit/ went up early through Zyzz, but found themselves down 1-2 late in extra time. Zyzz came down from heaven and delivered again at '116 to draw it level, and /fit/ would take advantage of both /s/ golds missing their kicks to win the resulting shootout. The team moved on to the semifinals against recurring opponent /out/ with glory in sight. The surging /out/doorsmen would stake themselves to an early 2-0 lead, but /fit/ mounted a furious comeback to lead 3-2 at the break. Zyzz would score a beautiful free kick in the second half to seal the deal, and /fit/ would move on to the Elite Cup Finals against a /u/ team that had relegated them twice. The Final was a slugfest, the teams trading blows end to end and pushing each other to their limits. LONDON and Scooby would score for /fit/, only to see /u/ come back to equalize each time. The Final went to extra time, where Golden Boot winner Homucifer would fire home to put /u/ up with only 15 minutes to play. /fit/ had one last comeback left in them, however, and LONDON's one-timer drew the match level once more at '111. Penalties seemed inevitable, but Scooby won a free kick and then forced a corner. Zyzz delivered from beyond the grave one final time, heading Ahnold's cross home in the 118th minute to grant /fit/ their first elite cup title. We all made it, brahs.
/lit/'s 2016 4chan Autumn Babby Cup ended up much like their Autumn of a year ago, as bad luck and embarrassing losses to teams /lit/ have played a thousand times doomed them. A good start against /h/ was pissed away before /pol/ eliminated /lit/ in yet another derby match. The only things keeping /lit/ out of the foetus were a consolation 4&ndash;2 win over /n/ and /h/'s 5&ndash;0 drubbing of /pol/ in the previous match. However, much like in 2016, they were to rise in Spring. Despite a disappointing loss to /soc/ and their first draw since Summer 2015 against /trv/, /lit/ were finally recipients of a lucky late goal, with DFW playing his part to tie the group on 4 points. /lit/ ultimately advanced because they played out a 2&ndash;2 draw vs /trv/ rather than the 1&ndash;1 played out by /soc/ and /o/, putting /lit/ and /trv/ ahead on goals scored, while the other two teams were left to battle it out for the foetus place.

The team entered the 2016 Summer Cup looking to repeat their incredible Winter run. Things began poorly however with a spaghetti-filled 2-3 loss against /v/ leaving /fit/ immediately in need of points against old rivals /ck/ to stay alive. The game looked grim, but late Zyzz and Scooby goals would reverse previous fortunes and pull out a dramatic 3-2 win. The last group game against /a/ presented a strange group situation, as it was entirely possible that /fit/ could be eliminated even with a win and 6 points. The /fit/izens dug deep and found their cup-winning form. Zyzz scored 4 times, and /fit/ delivered a historic 7-0 thrashing knocking the weaboos back into the babbies. Hopes were high going into a second straight elite knockout, but /gd/ would emerge victorious from a tight Round of 16 game.
Roster
:Main article: Roster

In the 2017 Winter Cup, a new game found /fit/ relying on their defense once more in a 1-1 draw with /h/ and a 0-0 with /adv/. However old foe /out/ proved to be no more of a challenge than they had been in the past. Scooby scored a hat-trick and /fit/ comfortably topped the group with a 5-0 blowout. In the knockouts /fit/ were first drawn against 2016 Spring champions /m/. A brace from LONDON and more solid defending propelled the /fit/izens into the quarterfinals to the tune of a 3-0 win. Against /vg/, Scooby capitalized on early spaghetti and then put the finishing touch a beautiful tiki-taka goal. Zyzz tacked on a header and a late /vg/ penalty proved meaningless as /fit/ moved into the semifinals against rival /sp/. In an incredibly taut game Zyzz's goal just before halftime proved the winner as /fit/ advanced into a second consecutive Winter Cup Final. Waiting for them was the former One True Elite /mu/, who had put together a string of dominant performances of their own. This also meant that whoever won this final would be receiving a second star. The game lived up to its billing in a cagey match featuring great defending by both sides. Scooby struck first with a header, but MC Ride would soon equalize. The game went to extra time, where Scooby knocked home a corner kick to put /fit/ up 2-1 with 20 minutes to play. Ten minutes later Scooby would seal the second star on the nipples by powering home a Zyzz free kick, and /fit/ were Winter Champions once more.

JohnnyBravo left the team after this season, with the other two managers taking care of /fit/ in the Summer Cup that followed. The results were...noticeably different, to say the least. /an/ proved to be the bane of /fit/'s existence once again, beating them 3-0 in the opening match of the cup. As if that wasn't enough pressure for them, the team could only manage another 1-1 draw against /h/ in the next match. With just 1 point out of two matches, the /fit/izens had to win the final group match, but it just happened to be against none other than /u/. Though Scooby gave /fit/ a lead in the first half, Purest Form of Love's second half goal sealed /fit/'s fate, relegating the team to the 2017 4chan Autumn Babby Cup with just 2 points in the group stage.

<div style="text-align: left;">

Days before the 2017 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, /fit/ looked to follow the same fate it had in the 2014 4chan Autumn Babby Cup. Following the abrupt departure from TheDeek, /fit/ was down to one manager and missed the export deadline day. Amidst confusion, /fit/ managed to hand in a legal export and took part in the cup. Despite the pre-cup shenanigans, /fit/ started off with a 6-1 thrashing against rivals /ck/. The team  displayed a strong performance against /o/, but the lack of cardio in /fit/'s workout proved to be their shortcoming, as the team ran out of stamina and fell to a 2-3 loss. In the last match of the group stage, /fit/ faced off an autopilot /p/ and managed to sneak to the knockouts with a 3-2 win. /fit/ went on to face rivals /sp/, whom they had beat in the 2017 4chan Winter Cup semi-finals, and was looking to repeat its former success. A tight and difficult match awaited for /fit/, but their efforts were not enough to close down /sp/'s TSUUUUUUUUUUUU, who netted a hat-trick as the /fit/izens were knocked out in a 2-3 loss in extra time. /fit/ now aims to win its 3rd consecutive Winter Cup, with new recruit Kostas[GRE] adding his name to the manager team.

In their darkest hour, /lit/ turned to /x/, a board with a somewhat common interest in the works of Lovecraft. An ancient scroll covered in incomprehensible symbols was retrieved from the deepest corners of the British Museum. Defying reason, the symbols turned out to be readable. A foul summoning took place on that day, in a ritual that involved the human sacrifice of former player Deep&Edgy, and also of /x/ player Lovecraft. A rift to the Outer Planes was opened, and out slithered Eldritch Horrors, Cthulhu and the Shoggoth. Their one match with /x/, in the 2014 Winter Friendlies drove the /x/ keeper, Nope, insane, as he ended the match by sacrificing the ball to David Foster Wallace, allowing him to score his first brace since /lit/'s last win over /an/, in the 2013 Spring Babby Cup. The match ended 3&ndash;0.

The age-old debate will always continue about what is the superior medium. Of course, it really shouldn't, as the answer is surely self evident. Of course, those filthy plebs and autists who frequent /tv/ will beg to differ, but they unironically enjoy Game of Thrones, and therefore their opinion can be safely discarded. Nevertheless, these two teams have met three times in official matches, and /lit/ has a dreadful 0-1-2 record against /tv/. /lit/'s only release, besides obvious superiority, is their 1&ndash;0 victory over /tv/ in the inaugural Halloween Bowl, in a match which won Eldritch Horrors her place on the /lit/ team. The two teams met again in the 2014 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, for the first time since they met in the Quarter Final of Spring, 530 days ago; this time, a pitiful 0-0 draw propelled /lit/ back into an Elite Cup, /lit/'s first in over a year and second ever.

Rivalries
u: the Classy Bowl
Despite the passing comment of one /lit/erati that he had "never seen a classy dyke", this remains one of the classiest rivalries in the cup. These boards hold no ill will against each other, and /u/ have a series of threads dedicated to literature. All the books they read are dreadfully pleb, as can be expected of dykes, but at least they try. These have two teams only ever met once, in the 2013 Autumn Friendlies. The match was a classy, respectable affair, with both teams dressed up to the nines, /lit/ resplendent in their Tuxes, and /u/ in a curious Japanese robe of some sort. The match ended in the classiest of scorelines; 1&ndash;1.

Before Hiroshima landed, history and all things classical were the preserve of /lit/, but now /his/ claims the authority talk discuss philosophy, religion, law, classical artwork, ancient languages and so on, thanks to their nebulous "Humanities" label. After a long and protracted fight, /lit/ posters were able to convince Hiro to allow philosophical discussion to continue on /lit/. Filled with rage that /his/ might try and steal /lit/'s culture, /lit/ stormed to a 5-0 lead in /his/'s first ever cup game, before celebrating their victory at half time with gallons of wine and deciding to let /his/ write themselves into cup history, scoring a final goal and granting /his/ three goals just after half time. The game ended 6-5 and setting several cup records, including most goals by a losing side and most goals in a cup game. /his/ made history, but /lit/, the victors, wrote it.

The most alpha boards in 4chan, /sp/ has superior tactics due to watching sports all day, while /fit/ is the most talented and conditioned thanks to playing sports all day. /sp/ only leaves their couch twice a year to watch this match against their true rival. Their most recent meeting came in the Round of 16 of the 2017 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, in which /fit/ lost 2-3.

*The team was disqualified from the 2014 Autumn Babby Cup due to an attempt to switch the default keepers out with ones that have better abilities by default in PES. This was allowed in the one Summer Cup friendly with /int/, but management was told to fix this in the future. Despite having two managers at the time, neither bothered to fix this, one of them didn't even have access to PES 2014, and thus, /fit/ was out of the Autumn Babby Cup before it even began.

*For the Autumn 2012 season, /fit/ had custom faces for a few players like Rippletits and Scooby. Over time, these got overwritten with /v/ faces due to management and Germanbro (the cup's host at the time) not noticing, hence why Rippletits was black with Ainsley Harriot's face, and Scooby had the Mystery of the Druids face in the 2013 Winter Cup.

History

/lit/ Football Club was founded on January 9, 2012, when an anonymous /sp/ user urged the denizens of /lit/ to form a team. /lit/ played its first match shortly thereafter on February 12; a friendly against fellow debutante /pol/. The fledgling /lit/ team was completely unprepared for the aggressiveness of its opponent, and was subject to a barrage of goals from /pol/ stars Doompaul and Stormfront. The game ended 0–3 to /pol/. Utterly humiliated, /lit/ set its sight on the upcoming Babby Cup for a chance at redemption. /lit/ failed at this endeavor, however, going out with only a single point to their name, and were forced to play in the 2012 4chan Autumn Babby Cup. Here, they lost 4–1 to /gif/ thanks in part to a False Dichotomy own goal before a 1–1 draw with /adv/ kept them alive. Despite winning their next match against /soc/ by a score of 2–1, they were relegated on goal differential with 4 points.

In the 2013 4chan Spring Babby Cup, /lit/ surprised by winning two games in a row, with a 2–1 win over rival /sci/ and 2–0 win over /f/ helping them to top their group after a 1–1 draw with /ck/ and get into the 2013 4chan Summer Cup. In the knockouts, /lit/ won 4–1 over a rigged /an/ before a 1–0 loss to eventual runner-up /tv/. The following summer, /lit/'s first Elite Cup proved a massive failure from the start, as they got bulldozed over by a powerful /v/ 7–0, losing to eventual third place winner /b/ 4–1, and getting themselves relegated in 2 games. /lit/ did somehow manage to pull /d/ down with them, thanks to a 1–1 draw.

In the 2013 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, /lit/ emulated their original Babby run, escaping with only a point to their name (from a draw against a rigged and managerless /fit/) while losing to /f/ and /gd/. In the 2014 4chan Spring Babby Cup, however, /lit/ seemed to be more competitive, and despite a 1–0 loss to Group E strongman /co/, rebounded for a 2–0 win over /k/. On the way out, they did manage a consolation point from a 0–0 draw with the now-struggling /adv/, but it was too little and too late. Despite slight improvements, /lit/ was resigned to yet another season of Babbies.

/lit/ surprised early on in the 2014 4chan Autumn Babby Cup; grouped with /v/, /s/, /tv/, and /adv/, their underdog run started with a 2–0 win over the team that once pulverized them 7–0, despite having a silver on the bench for the first 20 minutes. A 3–2 win over /adv/ followed shortly after, before a 0–0 draw against a futile /tv/ combined with a /s/ win over /adv/ confirmed a /lit/ advancement. The following game mattered for nothing, so /lit/ decided to not take risks, instead handing /s/ a 2–1 win. /lit/'s demise came in the knockouts, a 3–2 loss to eventual cup winner /b/. Despite this, merely qualifying for Winter was a big achievement for /lit/.

The 2015 4chan Winter Cup proved a turning point for /lit/. The team's group stage run began with a comfortable 0–2 victory against high-seeded /wsg/. In the following match, /g/ somehow weathered /lit/'s offensive barrage. The game ended 1–2 to /g/, turning /lit/'s next and final group stage match into a win-or-perish scenario. The match ended 3–0 to /lit/, and the team advanced to its first ever Elite playoffs. Knocking out one-time cup winners /wg/ 3–0, and obliterating a strong /asp/ side 2–0, /lit/ finally fell to eventual winners /tg/ 4–1. The third place match against /ck/ was lost, avoiding the curse and securing fourth place.

Then it all went downhill from there; /lit/'s complete inability to finish in the 2015 4chan Summer Cup or 2015 4chan Autumn Babby Cup doomed them to a return to permababby status despite good performance. The Summer run was marked by late goals from /o/ and /i/ in mostly /lit/-controlled matches as they took a 2–2 draw to /o/ and 3–4 loss against /i/; combined with familiar foe /b/'s 6–0 anal ravaging of /i/ earlier in the tournament, this left /lit/ in a situation where they would have to either pray for a draw from the /i/-/o/ match or win by 4 goals; /o/ took a 3–1 win from /i/, effectively dooming /lit/ to relegation before they took a 1–0 win over /b/. The Autumn run started with a 1–3 loss to /c/ in a game that saw /c/ goalkeeper and eventual Golden Glove winner Ika-chan save 11 shots from /lit/, which ended up amounting to half of her saves in the cup. A decent performance against struggling autopilot /lgbt/ with a 2–1 victory got /lit/ back into the fight to advance, and it seemed nearly guaranteed that /lit/ would rebound after a 6–0 demolishing of /vp/; however, /vp/ rebounded quickly with 3–2 and 1–0 wins over /pol/ and /c/, while /lit/ once again fell to /pol/ in a 1–3 loss and tumbled back down to the Babbies.

/lit/ would resurge, however, as they had three years before, achieving promotion in the Spring, writing themselves into history on the way with a new cup record scoreline of 6–5 vs /his/. /lit/ would also set a team record winning streak of four games, after further wins vs /cm/, /o/ and /e/ before coming undone to a losing blow deep into stoppage time vs /vr/, who would go on to place second. The 2016 4chan Summer Cup looked promising for /lit/, but it was not to be; a good start with a 3–2 win over /an/ was soon undone by a 3–5 loss to /adv/, and despite finally getting a win over /pol/, /an/'s domination of /adv/ made /lit/ (along with /a/) one of the first teams ever relegated from a four-team group on six points.

The only things keeping /lit/ out of the foetus were a consolation 4–2 win over /n/ and /h/'s 5–0 drubbing of /pol/ in the previous match. However, much like in 2016, they were to rise in Spring. Despite a disappointing loss to /soc/ and their first draw since Summer 2015 against /trv/, /lit/ were finally recipients of a lucky late goal, with DFW playing his part to tie the group on 4 points. /lit/ ultimately advanced because they played out a 2–2 draw vs /trv/ rather than the 1–1 played out by /soc/ and /o/, putting /lit/ and /trv/ ahead on goals scored, while the other two teams were left to battle it out for the foetus place.

Rivalries

X icon.png /x/: the Eldritch Abominationb Owl

The match ended 3–0.

/lit/'s only release, besides obvious superiority, is their 1–0 victory over /tv/ in the inaugural Halloween Bowl, in a match which won Eldritch Horrors her place on the /lit/ team.

U icon.png /u/: the Classy Bowl

The match ended in the classiest of scorelines; 1–1.

His icon.png /his/: the Spooker Bowl
