Going into the 5th winter cup in a row, this time as an autopilot because all /mu/tants are too busy complaining, consuming drugs, alcohol and what not, /mu/ gets a very interesting group with former tag team partner and <s>somewhat of a rival</s> arch nemesis /gd/, their tag team partner /sci/ and another rival in /k/. The first game against /gd/ looked to be a slurper and almost finished 0-0 if it wasn't for a late Mangum goal to get /mu/ a victory. Against /sci/, it looked good at first with an early lead thanks to John Lennon, however /sci/ managed to score 2 goals afterwards, taking the game with a 2-1 win. Needing at least a draw, /mu/ then faced /k/. /k/ getting an early lead destroyed all hopes of /mu/ at first, but John Lennon managed to score a brace to take the lead. /k/ managed to draw the game late and created a lot of tension in the last 5 minutes but MC Ride finished it off in stoppage time and shot /mu/ to their first summer cup since 2017. In the knockouts, /mu/ faced /cm/, who has been somewhat of a white whale in the past few years. And to no surprise, after /mu/ managed to score an early goal, /cm/ took the lead afterwards and after a bit of back and forth, /cm/ won and /mu/ received another round of 16 exit due to losing to /cm/. With high hopes, /mu/ looks forward to their first summer cup in 6 years. | |||
Heading into their first summer cup since 2017, /mu/ has a wild assortment of teams in their group with recent opponent /bant/, new opponent /vm/ and not so recent opponent /m/. The first match against /bant/ was a nightmare, /mu/ dominating in attack but seeing themselves down 2-0 at the end, with a late consolation goal doing nothing but having the result look a bit better. With not much hope, the next match against /vm/ started very badly too: After an early goal by MC Ride, /vm/ scored 3 more to make it 3-1. Looking very bleak, /mu/ went all guns blazing, which very surprisingly actually worked and /mu/ was able to score 4 unanswered goal to dominante those knuckleheads over at /vm/ and take the 3 points out of this match. The last match was a simple win and in with a loss eliminating /mu/ and a draw meaning we would need to rely on a somewhat unlikely double suicide. This was a painful match to watch, /mu/ attacking over and over again but God Mars acting like a true god keeper, grabbing the motm award and single handedly putting /m/ over /mu/ for now. Already packing the bags, /mu/ would hope for a draw in the next match, which looked very bad after 3 minutes whe /bant/ already scored against /vm/. After the second half started, /vm/ actually managed to tie it up and /mu/ was now seeing that there might be a chance. After a while, it was actually done, the game ended in a draw and in a extremely rare 4-4-4-4 group, /mu/ advanced as the 2nd place to the round of 16. There, they would face the ally from /tv/ for the MTV bowl. /tv/, being a very strong team in this cup, kept going like they were before, completely dismantling /mu/ in the first 30 minutes and going up 3-0. After a complete tactical make over after the 3rd goal, /mu/ needs a miracle, which suddenly looked likely after John Lennon scored a brace to make it 3-2. Hoping for a similar situation as in the /vm/ game, all hopes were crushed after Sheev scored a 4th one for /tv/ and Brendan Fraser finished it off with a 5th goal. Very disappointed to die in the round of 16 again, /mu/ was glad to at least be elite again and there is still hope that in the next elite, we might finally go even further. | |||

Pretty good, not cringe at all...
From humble beginnings as one of the original 16 teams of the 4chan Cup to a championship all their own, /mu/ have persevered through good times and bad. Managed by a crack team (though "alcohol team" sounds more appropriate) of patricians and overseen by Jesus Christ himself, the team seeks not only to win titles but to have fun as well. Whether through our goalhorns, silly socks or ridiculous banter, fun is valued both by the team and the board. After all, how seriously can actually take virtual roundputt based on a Tagalog face-painting website? We have plenty of exciting things planned for 2024, so stay tuned and thank you for your support!

- For earlier history: /mu/ History
Going into the 5th winter cup in a row, this time as an autopilot because all /mu/tants are too busy complaining, consuming drugs, alcohol and what not, /mu/ gets a very interesting group with former tag team partner and somewhat of a rival arch nemesis /gd/, their tag team partner /sci/ and another rival in /k/. The first game against /gd/ looked to be a slurper and almost finished 0-0 if it wasn't for a late Mangum goal to get /mu/ a victory. Against /sci/, it looked good at first with an early lead thanks to John Lennon, however /sci/ managed to score 2 goals afterwards, taking the game with a 2-1 win. Needing at least a draw, /mu/ then faced /k/. /k/ getting an early lead destroyed all hopes of /mu/ at first, but John Lennon managed to score a brace to take the lead. /k/ managed to draw the game late and created a lot of tension in the last 5 minutes but MC Ride finished it off in stoppage time and shot /mu/ to their first summer cup since 2017. In the knockouts, /mu/ faced /cm/, who has been somewhat of a white whale in the past few years. And to no surprise, after /mu/ managed to score an early goal, /cm/ took the lead afterwards and after a bit of back and forth, /cm/ won and /mu/ received another round of 16 exit due to losing to /cm/. With high hopes, /mu/ looks forward to their first summer cup in 6 years.
Heading into their first summer cup since 2017, /mu/ has a wild assortment of teams in their group with recent opponent /bant/, new opponent /vm/ and not so recent opponent /m/. The first match against /bant/ was a nightmare, /mu/ dominating in attack but seeing themselves down 2-0 at the end, with a late consolation goal doing nothing but having the result look a bit better. With not much hope, the next match against /vm/ started very badly too: After an early goal by MC Ride, /vm/ scored 3 more to make it 3-1. Looking very bleak, /mu/ went all guns blazing, which very surprisingly actually worked and /mu/ was able to score 4 unanswered goal to dominante those knuckleheads over at /vm/ and take the 3 points out of this match. The last match was a simple win and in with a loss eliminating /mu/ and a draw meaning we would need to rely on a somewhat unlikely double suicide. This was a painful match to watch, /mu/ attacking over and over again but God Mars acting like a true god keeper, grabbing the motm award and single handedly putting /m/ over /mu/ for now. Already packing the bags, /mu/ would hope for a draw in the next match, which looked very bad after 3 minutes whe /bant/ already scored against /vm/. After the second half started, /vm/ actually managed to tie it up and /mu/ was now seeing that there might be a chance. After a while, it was actually done, the game ended in a draw and in a extremely rare 4-4-4-4 group, /mu/ advanced as the 2nd place to the round of 16. There, they would face the ally from /tv/ for the MTV bowl. /tv/, being a very strong team in this cup, kept going like they were before, completely dismantling /mu/ in the first 30 minutes and going up 3-0. After a complete tactical make over after the 3rd goal, /mu/ needs a miracle, which suddenly looked likely after John Lennon scored a brace to make it 3-2. Hoping for a similar situation as in the /vm/ game, all hopes were crushed after Sheev scored a 4th one for /tv/ and Brendan Fraser finished it off with a 5th goal. Very disappointed to die in the round of 16 again, /mu/ was glad to at least be elite again and there is still hope that in the next elite, we might finally go even further.

Rivalries
As an original sixteen team and a champion, it stands to reason that /mu/ has a storied history in the 4chan cup and a host of rivalries to go along with it. These rivalries have been important, recurring, and most of all, loads of fun!

| The Ol' War Song The best rivalries develop organically. /mu/-/k/ is the perfect example of this and in many ways the perfect rivalry in the 4chan cup. /mu/’s oldest and fiercest rivals, the /k/ommandos have never failed to meet up with the /mu/tants somewhere along the way whenever both teams have made their way to the same tournament. The first meeting between these two storied sides occurred in the original 2011 Summer Cup, which /mu/ took by a scoreline of 2-1. /k/ however returned fire next Winter, defeating /mu/ in a penalty shootout on their way to hoisting a 4chan cup. Once again, the two sides met the following Summer Cup, which ended in an explosive 3-3 stalemate in the group stages. Meeting again next Winter, we were to see a completely different story. /mu/ would reassert their dominance in style, outgunning the weapons board by seven goals to one, led by captain Jeff Mangum’s then-record 5 goals in a single game, helping send /k/ down to their first-ever babby cup. The two would not meet again until /mu/’s own Championship run in Summer 2014, where the game was decided in /mu/’s favor off a late Talentless Hack goal. Back in Winter, the /k/ommandos look to find /mu/ somewhere on the battlefield so they may tip the scales of this historic rivalry back in their favor, and the /mu/tants not only expect but relish the opportunity to meet the old enemy on the field once more in the best rivalry in the 4chan Cup. /a/ and /sp/ wish they could have a rivalry this great. /mu/ leads this rivalry with 4 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss. |
