/vg/ League 8 was the eighth iteration of the /vg/ general themed PES competition and the first competition on PES 2017. Similar to the previous Leagues, signups will be open and any team verified for participation is able to compete. The purpose of the League is to decide the roster of the actual /vg/ team for the 4chan Cup. /vg/ League 8 will be joint effort between the head organizer, the streamer, the aesthetics team, the /vg/ management team, and the VGL Council.

The League will be played on the VGL smashcast and hosted through the official cup stream.

Important Dates

• April 23rd - May 7th, VGL8 sign ups open. Teams that placed in the top 16 of the previous cup will have automatic entry to the main competition. Teams that placed bottom 4, missed the competition, failed to advance from the qualifying round, or are brand new will have to participate in the /vg/ League 8 Qualifiers.

• May 27th, Export deadline for all signed up teams (qualifier and main cup) the second it becomes the 27th at midnight UTC (aka May 26th, 23:59:59 UTC.) No exceptions. Preliminary aesthetics for ALL teams must be submitted by this deadline. Kits and logos are required by this date, player heads/models can be worked out on a later date if not complete

• May 28th, Any and all export save fixes are due at the same time as the previous deadline. Draw for the Qualifier round will occur on the VGL discord after the conclusion of the Spring final.

• June 2nd - 4th, /vg/ League 8 Qualifiers . Draw will follow qualifiers on the 4th.

• June 7th, Second deadline to get any player models in to be compiled for the 1st day of the cup.

• June 9th, /vg/ League 8 begins.

  These have all the stuff that was fixed or added mid-cup and are ready for use. Every manager should get their team's export and use it next cup to avoid sending old or broken stuff.

Important News for Managers

VGL8 will be played on Semi-Assisted Sliding rather than Assisted. Please check your PES17 settings to make sure they are correct before making your export.

Pre-game tactics in the form of pastebins (that is, sliders, formation changes) and special non-model-related aesthetics (including opponent specific music) must be submitted directly to the streamer, who is usually quetzadrake on Skype/QD on IRC or Discord unless stated otherwise on the Discord. Live-managing pre-match and during matches should be done via IRC on the #4chancup channel in a PM to QD (or whoever the streamer is that day). Nightly exports go directly to the VGL Export email at vgleagueexports@gmail.com before 15:00 UTC, 2 hours before match days begin. If you need help still read here for a more detailed description.
