2014 4chan Autumn Babby Cup Group B

Summary

Matchday 1

Following their triple Summer slurpfest, /e/ marked their return to the Babbies by opening the group against /int/. By halftime, /e/ had a convincing 2-0 lead, despite the strong conditioning of /int/'s defense. However, /e/'s manager did not make any subs and allowed his blue-and-purple conditioned defenders to run out of stamina, eventually allowing >Argentina >white to nail a consolation goal.

/co/ threw all the shots they could at /wg/, but /wg/ made the most of their four chances (and OP conditions) as Cunt Destroyer tore apart /co/'s three man backline. His brace, including a fantastic mazing run that bamboozled the /co/ defense, was enough to give /wg/ the perfect start to their first Babby in two years.

Matchday 2

Both team's strikers were struck down pre-game with a case of shitty conditions. /co/, with an all-blue attack unable to be accurate, fell behind thanks to ENF. Despite sending Hope Corgi on at half-time to replace the ominous Bad News, purple center-forward Yoko Littner would kill the contest with ten minutes to play.

/w/ made their official debut against /int/ and were in ruins by halftime, thanks to goals by >Argentina >white, Polandball, and a deflected lob by 1920x1080. All was not lost, however, as Powerlevel put /w/ on the board with the last attack of the game.

Matchday 3

/w/'s first home game took place at their opposition's home court, where /co/ finally found themselves a goal thanks to /co/lette's strike from near the byline. /w/ hit back in similar fashion to /co/lette's strike, and eventually held on for their first point in official competition. /co/, almost doomed to relegation, would lose the services of >the Flash for their final game, who would accumulate his second yellow card of the tournament late in the second half.

/e/ shocked /wg/ in under two minutes as Yoko Littner blitzed through their defense to put her side 1-0 up before /wg/ even had time to settle. Following the initial shock, /wg/ hit back thanks to Cunt Destroyer tapping in a trollposted strike. Nothing happened for the rest of the game, aside from a questionable decision by /wg/ to substitute Minimalistic on. Also, /co/ got relegated.

Matchday 4

The first-ever Wallpaper Derby would become memorable in the minds of /w/ fans everywhere, as the plucky team recorded their first win in dramatic fashion. New Thread's early tap-in shocked /wg/, but Cunt Destroyer's second-half brace looked certain to spoil the party. However, /w/ found a late equalizer from a corner, and an injury shot by IMT bounced off of More Like This and looped into the back of the net, stunning the onlooking /wg/ fans and keeping /w/ alive going into the last matchday.

In perhaps the most memorable game of the group, the already dead /co/ and the still-hopeful /int/ subject themselves to pure goalkeeper spaghetti. Polandball capitalized in the first half thanks to Mogo's spilled shot, inspiring /int/ keeper Fake Moot to show him what real spaghetti was. First, he failed to get back into position and allowed /co/lette to bounce in a fluke shot from 40 yards. Then, he got in the way of his own defender and allowed /co/lette to tap in a second, and then let /co/lette complete a nine minute hat-trick. Mogo spilled a Spurdo Sparde shot that allowed Putin to bring /int/ back into the game, but a surprise goal by Bad News let /co/ finish a dismal cup with a victory.

Matchday 5

/wg/ and /int/ met in a crucial match to determine who would either be promoted or pinning their hopes on /e/ keeping /w/ out of harms way. A 2-1 lead to /int/ at halftime was destined to ruin /wg/'s dreams. In the second half, Spacecat made it his day by first clawing /wg/ back into the game with an equalizer, and then chipping Best Korea in injury time to send /wg/ back into the Elite Cup.

/w/ were given the chance to go Nuevo Elite against /e/, and took until midway through the second half to find the breakthrough with a tap-in by Waifu Walls. Needing one more goal to finish second over /e/ on goals scored, /w/ were sadly unable to punch their ticket into Winter, and went out on a whimper despite winning 1-0.
