Background: Long before they ever encountered in a cup, Sci icon.png /sci/ and G icon.png /g/ met in the 2012 4chan Summer Cup Friendlies. /sci/ won 7–3. Nearly four years later, the two met in the 2016 4chan Spring Babby Cup, with /g/ taking a 1–0 victory.

Background: H icon.png /h/ first played F icon.png /f/ in the 2012 4chan Autumn Babby Cup Friendlies, where the at-the-time new team won 4–2. When both teams made their first deep runs in the 2014 4chan Winter Cup, they encountered each other in the quarterfinals, a match /h/ won 1–0. A year and a half later, /h/ played /f/ AGAIN in the 2015 4chan Summer Cup, this time losing 2–4 in a match that ultimately made the difference for the group's second place.

Background: F icon.png /f/ and G icon.png /g/'s first two matches weren't very far apart; in fact, they came in two straight cups. /f/ won both times, 2–0 and 2–1 respectively. A year and a half later, /g/ got some revenge by defeating /f/ 1–0 to kick off their best ever cup.

Background: H icon.png /h/'s first ever cup match came in the 2012 4chan Autumn Babby Cup against G icon.png /g/, a 5–3 win for the newbies. Years later, /g/ got revenge on /h/ by screwing /h/ out of advancement with a 1–1 draw.

Background: F icon.png /f/ and Sci icon.png /sci/ have played 3 times. The first was in the 2012 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, where /sci/ lit up /f/ 4–1 on the way to an easy promotion. Their next meeting was the very next Babby, a 2–0 /f/ win that nearly promoted /f/ before someone did it for them. The last meeting was part of the 2017 4chan Summer Cup knockout stage, a match /sci/ won 1–0.
