The Eighth Founding is the name currently given to the teams that formed after Hiroyuki Nishimura expanded the website in 2017. As of April 10th, 2018, two teams gained entry into the 4chan Cup. These teams had to demonstrate interest within their respective board in order to be allowed to compete in the Cup, and made their debut in the 2018 4chan Spring Babby Cup Qualifiers.

Trivia

The Eighth Founding is the only 4chan Cup founding ever to consist of only red boards.
As of the conclusion of the 2018 4chan Summer Cup, /bant/ have the highest efficiency out of this Founding at 41.67%, while /aco/ have the lowest at 33.33%.
