The Founding Babbies is the name given to the 18 teams formed after the 2012 4chan Winter Cup. The Founding Babbies were the third wave of new teams, and the largest mass founding to date. Due to the prodigious amount of new clubs, the 4chan Cup Committee introduced the Babby Cups to serve as a relegation league for the 4chan Cup. Each of these teams would compete in the 2012 4chan Spring Babby Cup alongside four other teams remade after the Second Founding, for the right to move into the Top Tier.

- As of the conclusion of the 2020 4chan Winter Cup, 6 different Founding Babbies have won cups (4 Elite Cups and 7 Babbies).
- As of the conclusion of the 2020 4chan Winter Cup, the Founding Babbies have 30 "medal" finishes; 11 first place finishes, 7 second place finishes, and 12 third place finishes. In addition, /mlp/ are one of only two teams to have legitimately won multiple Elite Cups (as well as having the most titles of any team in the 4chan Cup with three and most "medal" finishes of any team in the Cup with five), while /m/ and /pol/ are two of only six teams (/mlp/ included) to have ever legitimately won multiple cups.
- As of the conclusion of the 2020 4chan Winter Cup, /mlp/ have the highest efficiency out of this Founding and the entire Cup at 52.54%, while /y/ have the lowest of this Founding and the entire cup at 22.06%.
