Welcome to the /k/ talk page!

Here you can put post ideas for different aspects of the team, such as new players, anthems, goalhorns, kits, etc.

Please remember to use a level 2 heading (==like this==) when talking about a new topic, and sign your posts with 4 tildes (like this~~~~).

We must rebuild.

/k/omrades,

By the force of social circumstances this great 2nd anniversary of the Winter /k/up is taking place in a year in which /k/, after many matches, after many trials, finds its state, morale, and hope of victory at its lowest point. Therefore, it is difficult for us to answer today the old question: How are we going to get better? Through the play of history and life, it seems as if /k/ has, precisely in this year, 2014, lost its state and its dignity and thus has celebrated an event of the distant past which has a great historical and symbolic significance for its future.

Today, it is difficult to say what is the historical truth about the Winter /k/up of 2012 and what is legend. Today this is no longer important. Oppressed by pain and filled with hope, the people used to remember and to forget, as, after all, all people in the world do, and it was ashamed of treachery and glorified heroism. Therefore it is difficult to say today whether the Winter /k/up was a victory or a fluke for the /k/ people, whether thanks to it we fell into arrogance or we survived in this misery. The answers to those questions will be constantly sought by /k/ and the people. What has been certain through all the loses until our time today is that disharmony struck /k/ 2 years ago. If we lost the battle, then this was not only the result of social apathy and the armed advantage of the other boards but also of the tragic disunity in the leadership of the /k/ team at that time. In that distant 2012, the /k/ team was not only stronger than that of the the others but it was also more fortunate than they.

The lack of unity and betrayal in /k/ will continue to follow the us like an evil fate through the whole of our history, unless we act now. Even in the last tournament, this lack of unity and betrayal led us into agony, the consequences of which in the historical and moral sense exceeded even our worst expectations.

Even later, when we watched from the sidelines, in this new state the /k/ leadership remained divided and unworthy, prone to incompetence and to the detriment of its own people. The concessions that many /k/ leaders made at the expense of their team can not be accepted historically and ethically by any team in these games, especially because the /k/ teams have never in the whole of their history acted untoward or unfriendly in the face of sportsmanship and enjoyment of the games.

Our historical name as champions has been naught but a wishful thought throughout the whole history of these past two years, and as it is today. We captured victory ourselves and when they could they also helped others to better themselves. The fact that in this time we are at the bottom of rankings is not a /k/ sin or shame; this is an advantage which we will be able to use for our betterment, but I must say that here, in this big, fluid field of hungry competitors, /k/omrades have not rose to this advantage of being great for our own benefit either.

Thanks to our leaders and their lack of dedication, they left us lacking before others. This situation has lasted for too long, it has lasted for longer than we can stand and here we are now to say that we shall rise to change our fortunes.

Disunity among /k/ has made our team lag behind and their inferiority humiliated ourselves. Therefore, no time for /k/ is better suited for saying this than now and no time is better suited than this moment for saying that unity in /k/ will bring prosperity to our team and each one of its supporters, irrespective of his past interest or lack thereof.

The /k/ of today must be united and equal to other teams and prepared to do everything to improve its position among its rivals. If there is unity, cooperation, and seriousness, it will succeed in doing so. This is why the optimism that is now present in me to a considerable extent regarding the future days is realistic, also because it is based on freedom, which makes it possible for all people to express their positive, creative and humane abilities aimed at furthering our team's fortune.

/k/ has never had only guns within it's ranks. Today, more than in the past, fans of other weapon types and conventions also post on it. This is not a disadvantage for /k/. I am truly convinced that it is its advantage. Board composition of almost all boards in the 4chan today, particularly fast ones, has also been changing in this direction. Posters of different boards, interests, and levels of autism have been posting together more and more frequently and more and more successfully.

/k/ in particular, being a progressive and helpful group (mostly at night), should not allow our team to be divided in these respects. The only differences one can and should allow in /k/ are between hard working people and idlers and between honest people and dishonest people. Therefore, all people in /k/ who wish to see our work succeed, honestly, respecting other boards and other teams, are in their own way guarantors of our future success.

After all, our entire board should be set up on the basis of such principles. 4chan is a multi-interest community and it can survive only under the conditions of full equality for all boards that exist on it.

This crisis that has hit /k/ has brought about divisions, but also great stress upon our fan base. Among all these divisions, defeatist ones have shown themselves to be the most dramatic. Resolving them will make it easier to remove other divisions and mitigate the consequences they have created.

For as long as communities have existed, their weak point has always been the relations between different boards. The threat is that the question of one board being endangered by the others can be posed one day -- and this can then start a wave of suspicions, accusations, and intolerance, a wave that invariably grows and is difficult to stop. This threat has been hanging like a sword over our heads all the time. Internal and external enemies of multi-interest communities are aware of this and therefore they organize their activity against such societies mostly by fomenting conflicts among their members, through endless shitposting.

At this moment, we in /k/ are behaving as if we have never had such an experience of victory and as if in our distant past will have no effect upon our future successes.

Equal and harmonious relations among /k/ peoples are a necessary condition for the existence of hope for future success and for it to find its way out of the crisis and, in particular, they are a necessary condition for its prosperity. In this respect /k/ does not stand out from the social milieu of the contemporary, particularly the successful, boards. The 4chan Cup is more and more marked by tolerance, cooperation, and even sportsman equality. The modern technological, as well as social development, has guided various boards toward each other, has made them interdependent and increasingly has made them equal as well. Equal and united people can above all become a part of the game toward which successful boards are moving. If we cannot be at the head of the column leading to such a team, there is certainly no need for us to be at is tail.

At the time when the /k/up was raised, the people were looking at the stars, not knowing how much it would grow in the coming years.. Now, 2 years later, they are looking at the stars again, waiting to conquer them. On the first occasion, they could allow themselves to be disunited and to continue dragging the bottom of the board. Now, as supporters of this team, we cannot muster an appearance in an elite tournament, if they are not united, and will continue to fail, unless we move forward in solidarity.

Therefore, words devoted to unity, solidarity, and cooperation among our /k/omrades have no greater significance anywhere on the code of our motherboard than they have here in this moment, which we must take as a call to action.

In the memory of the our past victories, this disunity was decisive in causing the loss of the matches and in bringing about the fate which we now suffer from.

Even if it were not so, from a historical point of view, it remains certain that the people regarded disunity as its greatest disaster. Therefore it is the obligation of the people to remove disunity, so that they may protect themselves from defeats, failures, and stagnation in the future.

This year, /k/ must became aware of the necessity of their mutual harmony as the indispensable condition for their present competition and further development.

I am convinced that this awareness of harmony and unity will make it possible for/k/ not only to perform well in the Spring Babby but to regain it's position among the elite. Therefore I think that it makes sense to say this here, where that disunity once upon a time tragically pushed down /k/ for years and endangered it, and where renewed unity may advance it and may return dignity to it. Such an awareness about mutual relations constitutes an elementary necessity for us, for our fate is in the joined hands of all its peoples. The heroism of the past has been inspiring and has been feeding our pride and does not allow us to forget that at one time we were a team great, brave, and proud, one of the few that remained undefeated even when losing, and we shall be again.

Two years later, now, we must now be challenged to trials and face difficult battles. They are not desperate matches, although such things cannot be excluded yet. However, regardless of what kind of matches they are, they cannot be won without resolve, bravery, and sacrifice, without the noble qualities that were present here in the Winter /k/up the days past. Our chief battle now concerns implementing new tactics, finding a quicker and more successful approach to game play in which /k/ will rise in the next two tournaments. For this battle, we certainly need heroism, of course of a somewhat different kind, but that courage without which nothing serious and great can be achieved remains unchanged and remains urgently necessary.

Two years ago, /k/ heroically defeated all who stood before us, but it also became a champion of them. /k/ was at that time the inspiration that all other boards hoped to aspire to. Therefore today it appears not only unjust but even unhistorical and completely absurd to talk about /k/ being on the bottom. /k/ must now look to it's strengths, now just as much as it was in the past, of course, in its own way, but in a way that in the historical sense never deprived it of dignity. In this spirit we now endeavor to build a roster, deep and skilled, and a set of tactics to make most glorious our future victories. This unjustly suffering board, shall no longer be mired in this misery.

Let the memory of Winter /k/up inspire us! Long live /k/! Let us rise to our future success!
