/tg/ Roster Poll Results

Polling is done and with nearly 60 responses, we have our new /tg/ squad ready for Spring!

Of the previous roster, Creed, Doomrider, Magos del Tiempo, Tankred, Emprah, Los Tiburon, and Muscle Wizard all had massive support and were firmly confirmed for next season. Anal Circumference, Sir Bearington, Old Man Henderson, Swedish Musketeer, That Guy, Urist McDwarf, and Thin Your Paints all also had reasonably good strong support and will stay on.

The changes to the team are:

  • Jace The Wallet Rapist, with a staggeringly negative response that guaranteed his departure from the team. He will be replaced by the most popular response in the pool of new players, Emracool the Aeons Hip. Hopefully this change will lead to rejoicing among the many fans who felt that Jace was a poor representative for Magic on /tg/.
  • Dickass Thief and /tg/ Chess also had an overall negative response in the poll and will be leaving the team. Dickass Thief's presence on the team has been a matter of some controversy, leading to the long arm of the law getting involved and demanding a greater presence. As such, Sam Vimes of the Ankh Morpock Night Watch will be taking his place to ensure things run smoothly and justice is served (as long as it's not too much of an inconvenience, of course). The bizarre and nonsensical gameplay of /tg/ Chess will be replaced by an even more daunting set of rules as GURPS joins the /tg/ squad. Anything is possible with GURPS, maybe even making the team's defense good again.

The next 3 changes to the team were all very close calls, and likely would have been kept on the team if it weren't for so many requests to modernise the lineup and bring some new blood onto the pitch.

  • Investigations into Cultist-Chan concluded there is a slim chance she may actually be a Chaos worshiper that slipped by /tg/ strict anti-heresy protocols. Nothing could be proven for certain, but management decided to err on the side of caution and so Cultist-Chan will finally retire to the annals of long-past /tg/ history. She will be replaced by an even more ancient force as Grognard steps onto the pitch to tell us how the game really should be played.
  • A very unenthusiastic response to Atlas recent performance has led to his retirement and the purchase of a new Urbanmech that will hopefully be able to actually fit inside of the stadium.
  • DJ Phylactery has been laid to rest after MC Divine Justice and some do-gooder adventurers hunted down the last pieces of his soul and destroyed them. Fortunately /tg/'s undead quota will still be met as Settra the Imperishable takes his place having a signed a short 4 century contract transferring him from the Nehekharan national team.

Finally, following some quite negative responses, both Rigger and Quest Master will be retired for new players to be determined. In Rigger's case it will be a new Shadowrun representative, likely either America-san or Dunkelzahn, but more consultation with the Shadowrun general is needed before a final decision is made. Quest Master will be replaced by a new obligatory quest thread representative after a long and arduous investigation into which one would enjoy the most popular support (suggestions are very welcome). If no new replacement is found, Chiaki "Murderface" Matsuda will rejoin the team because who doesn't love magical girls and unnecessary edgyness?

Otherwise, there aren't many new things to announce. Although a minority would have liked to see the second gold player position taken by a non-40k player, support for both Doomrider and Creed staying on as golds was so overwhelming that this would be impossible at this time. Magos del Tiempo will be joined by new player Emracool as the pair of silver players, with a likely rotation in the following cups to help other players have a shot a glory. All of the current music is staying, with the addition of The Wizard as an alternative goal horn for all of /tg/'s wizard players because of massive fan support. Dirge of Slaanesh also received a lot of positive votes, but multiple people requested keeping the music selection simple, and ultimately it was agreed to take only the most popular result.

That's it for the results - thanks to everyone who suggested players and voted, and if anyone has any ideas for the team or players that could be added after Spring please get in touch with either NearlyEnoughDakka or Marqod and let us know!
