/toy/ v /sp/

Background: The first time this meeting happened, it ended in /sp/'s favor 2–1, and also doesn't count thanks to Irishmen. The second time it happened, it also went in /sp/'s favor, 3–2 and arguably the greatest 4CC final ever, and also does count despite Irishmen. Then Dragongate happened, and while Sp icon.png /sp/ saw their beloved Torres McIlroy permabanned, they still rematched Toy icon.png /toy/ for a 1–1 draw in the next cup's friendlies. 2013 has gone further and further into past, but that doesn't mean the last cup's meeting wasn't as intense as the old ones; it was a 2–2 draw, featuring a huge /sp/ comeback and the eventual top-four material /toy/ squad.

/g/ v /pol/

Background: Speaking of old times, G icon.png /g/ would probably like to forget theirs. Back when they were one of the worst in the cup, they played a much-hyped Pol icon.png /pol/ squad in the 2012 4chan Summer Cup's Group of Death. It did not go well for them; they lost 2–1, conceding once and helping out /pol/ with an own goal before RandyTaylor69 scored a consolation.

/sp/ v /pol/

Background: Back in Winter 2013, Sp icon.png /sp/'s penultimate match before their second* star was a 2–0 win over Pol icon.png /pol/. Three years later, /pol/ claimed revenge by eliminating /sp/ from the 2016 4chan Winter Cup via a 5PA1Nful result that stands as their biggest win ever.

/g/ v /sp/

Background: Sp icon.png /sp/'s first ever flirt with relegation was in Summer 2013, where they had lost to /m/ and drawn /jp/ before the final day of the group stage; since /m/ had beaten /jp/ in the match before theirs, however, they still had a chance. All they needed to do was beat G icon.png /g/. They took advantage of a hapless /g/, winning 2–0 and staying ELITE™. The very next Elite Cup, /sp/ had already advanced by the time they played /g/, but that wasn't stopping them from relegating /g/ by winning 3–1. Two years later, in a Babby, /sp/ won their first knockout match since the days of Dragonfag, again 3–1 over /g/.

/pol/ v /toy/

Background: Another marquee matchup of days gone by; this battle of (former) powers first played out in Winter 2013, with Toy icon.png /toy/ not even making it a contest and taking a 5–0 win over their fellow medal-earner. The next friendly season, /toy/ again took out Pol icon.png /pol/, by the far more subdued score of 2–1. Both teams found themselves in the 2013 4chan Autumn Babby Cup semifinals and played each other again; /toy/ won yet again, this time 5–3 on the way to winning the cup. Oh, and then they met for the fourth time in a year and a half in the last-ever official Friendlies. /toy/ won a fourth time, 1–0.
