After a very long hiatus and a new game, /acg/ thought they would try another shot at the league again. With overwhelmingly positive response and a whole new squad, they were ready to test their skills out in two friendlies against /fgoalter/ and /ink/. The match against /fgoalter/ started well at first. The team went 2-1 up at half time and shortly afterwards made it 3-1, but Kazuma Kiryu thought it was Friday Night and sealed the deal with two goals, denying /acg/ their first win since 2014. With high hopes at first against /ink/, the squad's defense struggled immensely while Celeste was just on fire the whole game, resulting in an extreme goal fest. Sadly it was in our opponents favor with the game ending in a 4-6 defeat. The squad showed they can score goals, but defense was nowhere to be found. Now the team waits until the main tournament, hoping they can pick up a few new players with the fall update. Will they finally manage to win a game? | |||

/vg/ League 1
The /acg/ team is unusual in that it was founded and managed by three /acg/ tripfags, Karasza !!8fGN5qwPlrL, BILLYBOB !!jI9BNB2VlTI, and Kupo !!sANbu9wxvQL, rather than managers or testers of actual 4chan Cup teams. These three untested, some might say second-rate, managers, motivated by nothing but their love for their dog waifu and the desire to bring glory to their general, took their undefeated team to the finals of the inaugural /vg/ League tournament, beating out literally every other manager who entered the tournament in the process.
Then they lost in the finals to /dsg/, a team with no manager at all.

The /vg/ League 2013 starting 11 (Joey is standing in for That Duck Shirt).
Top row, from left: Comfy Theatre, Chrissy, Modern Fashion Check, Filthy TTer, Tumblrshit Villagers, Saturday Turnips.
Bottom row, from left: Katie, Copper, Muffy A Shit, Joey, Booker.
/vg/ League 2
In the 2nd /vg/ League tournament, co-managers Kupo and Karasza declined to participate, leaving BILLYBOB the sole manager of the team. Not having a copy of PES at the time, nor a computer that could run it, he instead dictated the minutiae of the team's playing style to an anon, who formed a reasonably alright export. In the tournament itself, /acg/ could not grasp the same success as it did in the first cup, losing a game to /lolg/ in the group stages. More worryingly, the team's star strikers couldn't make as many goals, or ones of the same quality as they did in the first tournament. Saturday Turnips left the cup with one-fifth as many goals as he'd scored less than a year earlier. After advancing from group F in second place, /acg/ finally fell in the quarterfinals to eventual runners-up /pdg/.

/vg/ League 3
/acg/ dominated its group, winning matches against both Runescape teams, /rsg/ and /rs07g/, and forcing an exhilarating 3-3 draw against /ssbg/ to top the group. While many hoped this to be a sign of good things to come, a 1-0 loss courtesy of controversial eventual cup winners /5n@f/ sent /acg/ home in the RO16.

/vg/ League 4
While /acg/ dominated /dfg/ 5-2 in a friendly match the week before the cup, featuring a hat trick from silver player Chrissy, the team utterly failed to keep this momentum going, going out in the group stage with one point. In fact, only two teams did worse in the whole tournament. BILLYBOB !!jI9BNB2VlTI killed himself at the tournament's conclusion, and gold player Muffy A Shit was forced into retirement due to waning relevance and declining quality of play.
