The complete history of all things /d/
Team Colours
In the original board meeting the colours were decided upon, they would be purple and gold, these colours gradually changed into the Violet and Mustard colour the team uses today. The original reason for the colour change was because when the /d/ custom kits were being created they were sampled from existing Italian club ACF Fiorentina kits, hence why the home kit is now traditionally Violet, the away kit White and the Goalkeeper kit Charcoal. As the /d/ kits gradually changed style - from Fiorentina, to Czech Republic and now to a completely custom variety the formula of the kits has only changed marginally from Violet shirt, shorts and Gold socks to Violet shirt, Purple Shorts and Gold socks. The away kit has taken similar changes; from White shirt, shorts and socks to White shirt, Gold shorts and Violet socks. Some other changes have been made, the kits are lightly based on Italian side Catania otherwise it's been marginal changes. Nobody has ever read this and I often wonder how I have written so much about virtual kits.
Badge
The old badge was created by Anonymous and features tentacles clutching a faceless demon-girl. The badge itself has been regarded as one of the best of the entire cup by thread-based Power Rankings and in its simplicity still shows off the heritage and culture of /d/. At the badge's base lies the inscription "In Tentacles Speramus" which means 'In Tentacles we Trust' and has now been adopted as the club's motto, even though the correct Latin translation would be "In Tentacula Speramus" some things just shouldn't be messed with.
While no one disputes old badge's artistic merit, in August 2015 it was decided to switch to a badge created by Cake which looks a bit more like a real FC badge. It also features more /d/ references: tentacles, BDSM (whips), futa/humor (the most recognizable bulge), and monstergirls (horns). The old badge might still be used in some fashion in the future, since it does look great.
History
Founding
Founded in December 2011 at the beginning of the Babby Cup boom /d/ are one of the older clubs in the competition; in a thread that gained surprising popularity amongst /d/eviants they soon got players together and decided on team colours and even drew up a rudimentary formation (see image). Given the timing of the teams founding coincided with a large change to the cup itself they found themselves in a group with /m/, /toy/ and /vp/ as the teams that would spearhead the creation of the Babby Cup. It wasn't long after that the team started to pick up steam as they decided upon a Goalhorn (Violent Pornography - System of a Down) and an Anthem (ULTRAnumb - Blue Stahli) to adhere to the rules that were in place. It wasn't until a couple of weeks later until a second thread came along where /d/ discussed goalhorns and anthems, by this time /m/ were testing formations and discussing the possibility of having management in this cup and had already looked to install someone so up stepped occasional /a/non and long time lurker on /d/, Guar/d/iola who volunteered to install the game and test out some tactics for the /d/ team. By the time he had done this /d/'s interest was waning and threads had gotten fewer and fewer up until the point the idea of a Babby Cup was finalised. With Vore being voted off as of the Winter 2017 Cup, Dmitrys became the last surviving member of the original /d/ team.

Early Years
/d/'s first friendly and first ever game would bring /sci/ as the opposition, /sci/ would be heavily penalised and their team consisted of all 66* rated players - the game finished 1-0 to /d/, Shitting Dick Nipples the only name on the scoresheet. From there things took a turn for the worse and an embarrassing defeat to /s/ and handing /cm/ their first ever win left Guar/d/iola a lot of thinking to do. The 2012 Spring Babby Cup went very well for /d/ with their strongest finish in any competition after coming 4th, losing to eventual winners /m/ and even defeating finalists /3/ in the group stage 4-0. Following the reasonable success of their first ever cup competition Guar/d/iola went into conditional retirement after feeling he could no longer manage a team by himself; he left the team with a formation and players.
The 2012 Summer Cup friendlies were a mixed bag for /d/ and started with a 2-0 win against /cm/, throwing away a lead twice to draw with /y/ 3-3 and hammered by a strong /vp/ side 5-0. The draw for the 2012 Summer Cup saw /d/ drawn with strongly fancied /sp/, unknown quantity /b/ and potential dark Horse /o/ in what later turned out to be a group with 2 unmanaged teams and 2 teams managed by the same person. However the unmanaged /d/ prevailed after a crushing defeat to /sp/ after leading comfortably for most of the game, a tense 1-0 victory against /o/ and an 8-goal thriller beating /b/ 5-3, managerless /d/ had defied reason and were rewarded with a second round match-up against /pol/ - this piqued the interest from /sp/ user Based Soviets !Ydpjq4fCnU who in his own words saw it as a way to fuel his "massive ego" and to show off his supposed coaching prowess. /d/'s 1-0 victory over /pol/ from a 35 yard out freekick from Haigure on paper seemed like a great result but between the lines Based Soviets !Ydpjq4fCnU relied heavily on the fact /pol/'s then manager Cozmo !911.1dt/BY not showing up to the game and the team rode their luck in quite a few moments in the game, added to this the managers determination not to use the orange conditioned players at his disposable and instead continued with the fatigued blue players led a lot to be desired. /d/ and Based Soviets !Ydpjq4fCnU would eventually run out of luck in the Quarter-Finals against /int/ who went on to win 2-0 and he didn't return to the fray for another 3 months when he ruled himself out for good, citing 'Coaching reasons'. /d/ finished 2012 without having to play a single competitive game.

Managerial History
8th January 2012 to 22nd April 2012 (10 games) - Guar/d/iola - W5 D2 L3
/d/'s first official manager, he wasn't really as such elected by /d/ but he was the only one to download the game and the only person to test for /d/ thus earning him the privilege. His experience came from watching the game for many years and also playing the sport at amateur level this apparently was enough experience as he saw through /d/'s difficult Spring Babby Cup campaign and his work was the backbone of /d/ even after he left. He willingly resigned directly after the Spring Babby Cup had finished and has since taken a back-seat role as the Assistant to the later Manager Based Soviets and as the Caretaker Manager after he was sacked.
17th July 2012 to 3rd August 2012 (2 Games) - Based Soviets !Ydpjq4fCnU - W1 D0 L1
An appointment of some controversy as Based Soviets was somewhat renowned for being a mercenary manager and after allegedly being refused by /3/ and /a/ he came into the role after being asked by /d/ to take charge following /d/'s advancement from the 2012 Summer Cup group stages. He came into the job boasting good experience coaching with MLS side DC United (see statement) unfortunately for both /d/ and Based Soviets this experience never materialised and his managerial career ended abruptly. He was sacked after failing to appear after his /int/ defeat in the 2012 Summer Cup Quarter-Finals.
8th August 2012 to 10th September 2012 (2 games) - Guar/d/iola - W1 D1 L0
Guar/d/iola's second spell in charge was following the Summer Cup, after growing pressure was put on teams to make tactics for all games Guar/d/iola was forced to put together tactics for friendlies against /tg/ and /c/. Guar/d/iola suffered a rather public mental breakdown in the thread after forgetting the deadline for the /c/ friendly cup commentator Frontier Psychiatrist made a rousing speech on Vocaroo which appeared to have worked as /d/ went on to beat /tg/ in their next friendly. Frontier Psychiatrist would go on to make the tactics for the /h/ friendly, which /d/ lost 1-0.
9th January 2013 to 20th February 2013 (3 Games) - Catchment !k.78CAo0N6 - W1 D0 L2
Much like Based Soviets before him, Catchment originated from /sp/ and took charge of /d/ for the 2013 Winter Cup which saw /d/ relegated for the first time. Catchment didn't contribute much on thread so very little is known about him.
28th February 2013 to 25th November 2013 (16 Games) - Chance !!7M5Ec7DQIsF - W6 D4 L6
Chance came in to try and bring stability to an already crumbling /d/ side after their relegation from the 2013 Winter Cup. His first test was to steer the team back into the promise lands via the 2013 Spring Babby Cup, he achieved this with aplomb by creating an ever dangerous team that played with attacking flair and defensive sensibilities led by top scorer Bob 'DA BEAST' Sapp that saw them cruise through the group stage, break records and get knocked out to eventual winners /mlp/. Unfortunately this wasn't to last as poor performance after poor performance saw /d/ dumped out of the 2013 Summer Cup and eventually reaching the lowest ebb after crashing out of the following Babby Cup. This proved too much for Chance as he soon after went on a hiatus, ending what was a turbulent 2013 for /d/.

The 2015 Spring Babby Cup was /d/'s best performance in years; grouped with /k/ (again) as well as /n/, /vg/, and /hm/, /d/ started out decently enough with a 2-2 draw to /n/ on a /n/ 90+ goal. However, through the next two games, /d/ blew the fuck out of /vg/ and /hm/, 4-1 and 6-0 respectively, which put /d/ on the verge of advancing to their first Elite Cup in two years. A comeback 3-2 victory over /k/ sealed the deal as /d/ topped the group undefeated and went on to win their first two knockout matches over /vp/ and /o/ with 6-1 and 2-0 scorelines. However, matchups against eventual 2nd place /co/ in the semis and autopilot /cgl/ in the third place match proved too difficult for /d/ as two consecutive losses left /d/ at 4th place. Most notably, /d/ ended up tying Winter 2013 /toy/'s goal scoring record with 24 goals in their 8 matches this cup.
/d/ was riding high heading into their first Elite cup since Summer 2013, preparing to face off against /u/, /fit/, and perennial powerhouse /mlp/. However, their joy was short lived as immediately they dropped their first game 0-1. Despite taking nearly double the shots, poor accuracy and one missed save did them in against the lesbian crew. Needing a tie to stay alive, the squad next matched up against /fit/. Once again, despite looking to be the better team and taking more shots, a missed save at 10' was all /fit/ needed. A small bit of controversy erupted due to /fit/'s "anti-football" ball control during the entire second period, to the point of not even allowing /d/'s subs to come on. After the match day, Cyclohexane announced the next game would be his last before heading into retirement while vowing to take away a win. Unfortunately, his 5-1 prediction fell the wrong way as /d/ was decimated against the pony-based team. The first half ended at a 1-1 tie, but the second half was all /mlp/ as they scored goals of every kind. A poor end to a period of relative success from this managerial team.
8th August 2015 to Present (17 Games) - DrDtroit !!i08rv3lDtpa - W6 D4 L7
With a lone manager for the first time in nearly two years, /d/ took the field once again in the 2015 Autumn Babby Cup, grouped in with perennial babby rival /k/, /e/ /w/, and /v/. Although things started off well against /k/, Ivan Chesnokov activated full auto and fell the /d/eviants with a hat trick, giving /k/ their first win in the series. /d/ then traveled to play /e/, resulting in a 3-3 draw that was hard-fought on both sides. Reeling and with only a single point to their name, they hosted /w/ in hopes of a win, which they got by a scorline 2-0, featuring a solid shut-out performance from Tentacles and the defense. In the end, they needed to beat /v/ by two goals to clinch promotion. The /d/ side dominated the first half with a 5-0 lead, but the second half proved to be a near nightmare, as Gaben opened up /v/'s scoring, and Sanic raced against the clock towards the end of the game to play spoiler, scoring two and missing the hat-trick header by mere inches, leaving the game 5-3 and allowing /d/ to return to the elites. Their first opponent in the knockouts was another rivalry game, this time against /h/, but it ended much the same way as /d/ was eliminated 1-2 in another hard-fought game.
Knowing from their previous venture up just how hard the Elite cup can be, /d/ braced itself for the worst while hoping for the best, drawing a group with /cm/ and two former champions, /wg/ and /mu/. There was very much a feeling of suspense in the locker room before the first game, with a general notion of game 1 already being a make or break in the air. Unfortunately, /cm/ eked out a 4-2 win after taking advantage of some sloppy /d/ play and ill-advised strategy. The feeling of despair and memories of Summer were already creeping back into the minds of fans and players alike as /d/ stepped onto the pitch at El Monumental to face /wg/. However, Faye Artemis and Dmitrys were adamant that those follies would end, with each being responsible for a goal. Between this and some savvy defensive play, /d/ came away with a 2-0 victory and a very real shot to finally advance to an elite knockout for the first time in several years. With /wg/ taking a 4-2 victory over /cm/, this meant that /d/ needed to do no worse than a 2 goal loss to the already-elevated /mu/ to secure advancement. The result came in the form of a 0-0 thriller, complete with midfield ferocity and missed shots. Reguardless, this placed /d/ second in the group and locked them into the Elite Knockouts, something that had evaded them since Summer of 2012. Their first opponent was a familiar face from Summer: /u/. /d/ came out hot, scoring a quick opening goal, but this allowed the/ u/ management to fix their broken export, and from then on it was almost all /u/. The new /u/ formation was able to snuff out /d/'s offense while easily poking through the defense, and while /d/ was able to tie it up in the 65th minute, a quick turn around for Feito-Chan to score in the 67th minute sealed an early exit for the /d/eviants. Still, most agreed that it was quite a run and showed that, while they might not be there yet, the potential to become Cup champions was simmering within the team, just waiting to be brought out.
Coming off their first Elite Knockout appearance in 4 years, tensions were as high as hopes for the Summer 2016 /d/ squad. Most outsiders had them as one of the weakest teams in their pot, however, and in a group with the now-powerhouse /out/, surging /vp/, and ever-dangerous /sp/, it would take a lot of work to repeat their success. The first game found /d/ taking on /vp/, a matchup that has always been a wild one over the years. This game proved no different, with both teams trading the lead but settling on a 3-3 draw after a 86' goal by Miror B. After not scoring since Spring '15, /d/ Humor Thread finally ended his slump by putting two in. With /out/ coming off a victory over /sp/, and only having 1 point, the second game had an air of "make or break" to it. Could the /d/eviants take down the Autumn champs and reigning third placers? After a long, hard, and hot match, /d/ walked away with a 2-0 win off of a 61' goal by Futa/Alternative, a 90+1 by Dmitrys, and a 4-save clean sheet for H*nd H*lding. Now leading their group with 4 points, it was time to face old demons in a rematch of "The Greatest Comeback". A draw was all that was needed to move on, while /sp/ needed a draw to stay alive. In that sense, both teams won, as Succubus' 8' goal was matched by Messi at 30', and Futa/Alternative's half-opening 49' goal was met by TSUUUUUUUUU evening it up for the final time at 55'. Though they couldn't claim a full revenge, they did claim a spot in the knockouts. After the result of the second game, in which /vp/ won by too much, /d/ was able to top the group with 5 points. /d/ was drawn against /v/ in the first round, an ironic match-up in that /v/ had drawn much tactical inspiration from /u/, the team that eliminated /v/ in the Round of 16 a cup ago. /d/ Humor Thread scored first at 3', but Sanic was too fast for Tentacles and evened it up at '14. BUT FIRST claimed the lead for /v/ at 48', a scoreline which held until 78', when Dmitrys gave some hope back to the /d/eviants. With such a late goal, extra time seemed assured. Unfortunately, BUT FIRST instead brought the lead back to /v/'s parallel dimension just 2 minutes later, sealing /d/'s fate. While it didn't bring a star, Summer brought about two firsts for /d/: their first ever back-to-back Elite Knockouts, and the first time ever topping an Elite Group. Those, combined with finishing in a 3-way place for 9th alongside /r9k/ and /soc/, showed another step forward for the /d/ club; though it left them wondering when the big breakthrough would finally come.
2017's Winter cup was one full of questions. Moving from the goalfest of PES 2016 to the more defensive stylings of PES 2017, and off the heels of another first round exit, how would the team respond? Well, turns out it'd respond by clinching it's spot early! It stormed out of the gate with a 3-2 victory over a tough /toy/ team, then followed it up with a 90+ corner goal to defeat /e/ 1-2. With the other results in the group, /d/ became the first team in the competition to clinch it's spot, and the only one of the opening weekend. /d/ Silver DMF Monster Girl Encyclopedia picked up a yellow card in the process, however, and due to already being confirmed, was sat for the /tv/ game to avoid the chance of a suspension for the round of 16. This resulted in the already relegated /tv/ getting a rather easy 3-1 win to help them avoid wooden spoon contention. While this meant that /toy/ topped the group instead, /d/ was ready for it's first Knockout opponent. They didn't need to wait long, being drawn into the first game to face off with /mu/. The game vs /mu/ was a very back and forth affair, with /mu/ scoring first early but Futa/Alternative tying it up quickly thereafter. In the end, though, /mu/ put in a second goal in the middle of the second half and, despite 12 shots (with 8 on target), /d/ never put another one past Merzbow's famed Wall of Sound. The same old song played as /d/ fell in the first round once again.
Once again, the Summer cup rolled around. /d/ were drawn against last cup's ender (and 2nd placer) /mu/, the Babby's 2n'd player in /n/, and /lit/. It looked to be a tough road to advancement for the purple and gold, but it was one they were ready to tackle. The journey began vs /lit/, in a game that ended 1-1. Tentacles put one in just before the end of the first half and /d/ looked ready to take a victory, until /lit/'s Start with the Greeks put one past H*nd H*lding at the 90th minute. Moving on with a somewhat crushing draw, the old rivalry with /mu/ would potentially spell out /d/'s destiny in this group. /mu/ scored first early on, but then everything broke down for them. Not only did Succubus tie it up 10 minutes later, but (in what would be the most famous moment of the group stages in this cup) Anthony Fantano was credited for an own goal when he passed it back to the famed Merzbow who instead watched it roll past him. Tentacles scored in the 69th minute to ice it, and /d/ played their role in /mu/'s eventual Wooden Spoon finish. Going into the final day of the group, /d/ could clinch another Knockout appearance though a victory, but would still have chances with a draw or a loss. /n/ promised to be a tough opponent, being the group-topping team at the beginning of the day. As it turns out, /d/ was more than up to the task. Futa/Alternative put one in early on, and the team held /n/ to 0 total shots to take a 1-0 victory and make their 4th straight Elite Knockout. /d/'s hopes were once again riding high, being drawn against /m/ in a game that certainly seemed attainable. In the end, despite holding /m/ to a 2(0) shot total over 120 minutes, the 0-0 game ended with /d/ losing to /m/ in benuldies after misses by both X-Ray Cumshot and /d/ Humor Thread. The Quarterfinals remained tantalizingly close but oh so far away. However, there was still much to be happy about, as with so many former elites falling /d/ became the longest reigning consecutive Elite team at the time, clinching an appearance in what will be their 5th consecutive Elite cup in Winter 2018. As well, they got the most Group Stage points they had in their history at 7. The improvement continues, but the results refuse to change.
