The /m/ Cup is a proposed unofficial cup featuring teams representing various facets of M icon.png /m/, held in celebration of /m/'s advancement to the 2015 4chan Summer Cup. The main reasons for this are to (a.) give the parts of /m/ who feel underrepresented in the present /m/ team a chance to shine and (b.) build interest in parts of the board that might not follow or be aware of the board's team.

The cup will be streamed by Archivist !ghxWMDraws, tentatively set for the last week of May and the first week of June.

Rules

Up to eight teams will play in the cup. Teams can represent any /m/ topic, though it is recommended to avoid being too specific. To get a better variety, we prefer teams dedicated to whole franchises or concepts over individual series: e.g. a Gundam team instead of a Victory Gundam team, or a /m/agical girl team instead of a Symphogear team. This is a preference, not a rule. I'm not going to be a dick about it. (I may suggest similar teams merge if slots fill up and there's a lot more teams trying to get in, but I doubt there will be so much interest that this becomes an issue.)

The tournament will be held in a round-robin format. The top four teams will advance to the knockouts, which will be played as a home-away aggregate without the away-goals rule.

Team composition follows the same rules as in official 4CC competitions. See Appendix:Rules#Chapter_III:_Squad.

Dates and Deadlines

All dates are in US Central Time (UTC-5 for the dates that matter).

  • Contact Archie (archie.m.vist@gmail.com, or in the 4CC threads on /m/) by May 17 if you want to manage a team.
  • The draw will be held on May 20.
  • Initial tactical exports are due May 25, four days before matches begin. After this point, tactical changes can be made, but player information is final.
  • >Archie doesn't know how to make aesthetics into working DLC for PES, so unless he kidnaps an aesthetics wizard they won't be available.
  • Matches begin May 29.
