=== /vg/ League 12 ===
Being a champion can have its downsides. For instance, all eyes were now on /dbg/ that had to prove itself by showing that the previous championship wasn't just a fluke and avoid embarassement. With all the pressure on the team, their previous stadium got scrapped and the team moved to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to train even more effectively. As the host /dbg/ was set in Group A by default. Their first few obstacles turned out to be /hpgg/, /gbfg/ and /aceg/. And so the Tournament of Power began with /dbg/ having to show their might once more.
Very early in the first game against the wizards from /hpgg/, /dbg/ showed why they were the champions of the last VGL: After a great cross by El Grande Padre in the 25th minute, who returned to his medal position, Owari Da hit an insane airborne volley that hit the bar, then hit the face of Dumbledore and finally went into the net. Nothing happened for a while and when /hpgg/ tried to go more offensive, /dbg/ catched them on a quick counter with Broly making it 2-0 which ended up being the final score. Next up was /gbfg/ and captain Gogeta Da decided to show who the real Gran(d) Blue is and scored a hattrick in a combined 38 minutes, the first hattrick for /dbg/ ever to be exact. Later in the game /gbfg/ got two goals back but the lead was too big and /dbg/ was now on 6 points.
With this win the longest winstreak record of the VGL was now tied with /gerg/ and seven wins in a row. The longest undefeated streak was also tied with nine games unbeaten. To claim both titles for themselves, /dbg/ had to 9 point the group by beating the pilots of /aceg/ in a battle between Theb utt and Theb elt. The unthinkable happened and /dbg/ dropped a 2-0 lead and the game ended 2-2 due to a 90+ goal by /aceg/. The winstreak was ruined but /dbg/ was still unbeaten for 10 games straight and claimed this record for themselves. But every streak has to end someday, right?
With a record under their belt /dbg/ marched on to the Round of 16 as the topped their group on 7 points. Their opponent /vitagen/ stood no chance as Gogeta and Jiren brought home a 3-0 result. Next up was /egg/, the glorified pastebinless autopilot running on cup winning tactics. Technically a battle of cup winners you could say. With a cheeky header El Grande Padre lobbed the ball over the /egg/ keeper and made it 1-0. After that /dbg/ completely focused on the defense and for the entire match /egg/ could not get a single shot off, not even off target. And with that /dbg/ proved that they indeed were still a force to be reckoned with. For a team to make it as a winner to a semi final match is indeed a great accomplishment, but the cup wasn't over yet.
In the Semi Finals /dbg/ met /twg/, another team with a star on their shirt. Early on Gogeta Da made it 1-0 after some spaghetti in the /twg/ box. Yet again the /dbg/ defense stood strong and forced Total War General to figure out a different gameplan. Though after half time, Gogeta Da scored one more to make it 2-0. Yet again /twg/ tried to switch their gameplan to somehow defeat /dbg/ but immediately after kickoff, Gogeta Da scored yet again to complete his hattrick. There was absolutely no strategy for /twg/ to defeat the sheer power of /dbg/ and the game ended 3-0. /twg/ was able to get one single off target shot off. This meant that there was only one single shot taken by /dbg/'s opponent in two matches. An incredible showing by the team's defense.
Nobody expected this. People may have rated /dbg/ as one of the stronger teams, but nobody ever thought that a champion could actually be on the verge of defending their title. Another defensive powerhouse stood in the way of a miracle in form of /nepgen/. Both /dbg/ and /nepgen/ were kind of similiar tacticly and both teams featured transformations to enhance their power. This was promising to be a good fight.
But what happens when you put the arguably two best defenses in the cup against each other? They cancel each other out and the Final was a sheer battle. No team was able to break through the other teams defense, a massive amount of fouls in the midfield and 0 goals marked the first 90 minutes of the match. But instead of it being a boring slurper, it was more of an even battle to death with both teams sticking to their own gameplan and no tactical changes. Even when everybody was gassed on the pitch after a full 120 minutes both defenses did not budge an inch. And so the game went to penalties where all five of the /dbg/ medals scored. With a 5-4 lead, /nepgen/'s Blanc was up and ultimately hit the post which killed the neps and /dbg/ did the unthinkable. The team defended their champion status by winning two cups in a row and being the second team ever to win two stars, also the first team ever to win the VGL back to back. The previously mentioned unbeaten record is still ongoing at 14(!!!) games unbeaten, a record across both the VGL and 4cc. After VGL12 finished, /dbg/ rose up to be arguably the best team that participated in the tournament ever.
But can they make it three...?

/vg/ League 9

As a new team /dbg/ was placed in the /vg/ League 9 Qualifiers together with /aceg/, /indie/ and /digi/ in Group D. A 90+2 goal by the captain Rare Gohan led to /dbg/s first victory against /aceg/, followed by a 2-2 draw to /indie/. Another 2-0 against /digi/ meant that /dbg/ would top the group on 7 points and them making their way to the main cup. Drawn in Group A, /dbg/ had to face the /vg/ League 8 champions /llsifg/, the consistent Elite team /drg/ as well as /vitagen/. The team was out of luck in their first match against /drg/ which they lost 0-2 but actually got a Zenkai boost out of it and beat /vitagen/ 2-0 afterwards themselves. /dbg/ had to beat the precedent champions to advance to the knockouts, but the mighty power of idols beat down the Dragonbabs 1-6 marking their worst loss to this date. Defeated, /dbg/ ended up at the bottom of the group with 3 points and possibly had to face the qualifiers again next cup, finishing 28th out of 32 teams.

/vg/ League X

Instead of having to go back to the qualifiers, /vg/ League X turned out to be a mega VGL, letting 48 teams participate in the main event. This time around /dbg/ was placed in Group F facing /vitagen/ once more, /nepgen/ and the bote girls from freshly created /alg/. Group F proved to be "Group F(ootball wins lol)", as both first matches in the group ended with a 0-0 tie. (Both games being /vitagen/ vs /dbg/ and /nepgen/ vs /alg/). Facing /alg/ next the match started off with a good first half ending 2-1 in /dbg/'s favor. The second half on the other hand, proved to be a sleeper as both teams were unable to score any goals, and so /dbg/ took home the 3 points they needed. The Neps were the last opponents standing in /dbg/'s way of advancement, and after a 1-1 half, Donuts got a late goal to make it 2-1 and send /dbg/ to the Survival Round. In the end /vitagen/ topped the group on goals for /vg/ League X.

By virtue of having 7 points, /dbg/ was the 2nd place team in the group, and only had to play one game in the Survival Round to go to the knockouts. Their opponents turned out to be the game developers of /agdg/; who were beaten 2-0 as Jiren and Gohan sent /dbg/ to the Round of 16. Now drawn together with /xcg/ a hard-fought battle ensued that went into extra time on a 0-0 result. /xcg/'s Snaketits struck first in the late second half of extra time and /dbg/ was unable to respond in time. With that /dbg/'s run in the Knockouts was cut short and it was time to hit the showers, enter the hyperbolic time chamber and try again next time.

/vg/ League 11

After 6 months of training /dbg/ returned as a Pot 1 team, ready to face the cripples of /ksg/, /fgog/ and returning /ssbg/ in Group E. Ironically, /dbg/ crippled themselves in their first match against Katawa Shoujo; due to "YOU FOOL" getting red carded, weakening their defense. Being 2-1 up at the time, /dbg/ only had to hold on a bit longer. After the 90th minute spaghetti ensued, the ball was in /dbg/'s side of the field, and their goalkeeper, The Doc, decided to have an overdose, which resulted in him punching the ball into /dbg/'s own net making it 2-2. Thanks Doc. Off to /fgog/, and WOW IT'S FUCKING NOTHING! The game was a bad 0-0 tie, featuring choking on both sides. It was honestly so bad that /dbg/ agreed to sack their current Gold medal striker, /ourdroid/, as the mandroidlet has been choking as a Gold consistently since /vg/ League X. Getting sent back to his boat, smug blue boy GOGETA DA took his place and got the chance to proof himself in the next and potentially last match against /ssbg/.

The game against /ssbg/ was a battle for the ages, as both teams needed a win to advance. /ssbg/ needed to win by two and a tie, or, /ssbg/ winning by only one goal would send /ksg/ through together with /fgog/. 2Bigley gave /ssbg/ the first goal and the match went into half time with 1-0 in /ssbg/'s favor. All of a sudden new Gold medal and captain GOGETA DA awakened his Super-Saiyan Blue Powers, and shifted the tide of battle with two goals in four minutes for /dbg/. The match wasn't done yet as SAKURAAAAAAI sunk another two goals for Smash Brothers, giving them the lead once more. /dbg/ was running out of time and had to respond quick, so they switched to full offense with Jiren (OWARI DA) scoring in the 79th minute, tying up the game again. /ssbg/ decided to switch to all out offense as well, and only two minutes after Jiren (OWARI DA) tied up the game, /dbg/ received a corner. The defensive midfielder BIG GETE STAR headed the ball into the bottom corner and /dbg/ had the lead yet again. /ssbg/ couldn't find a response as the Dragon Ball defense stood strong and so the match ended 4-3 in /dbg/'s favor, letting them top the Group on 5 points in the potential match of the group stages.

Entering the knockouts, /dbg/ faced the Dwarfs of /dfg/ as their next opponents. Gohan and Broly gave /dbg/ an early lead and the /dbg/ defense didn't budge and inch. With a late goal by Gohan and a 3-0 end result the Dragon Ball General marched on wards to the Quarter Finals where an oddly familiar enemy was awaiting them...

Only eight teams remained and /xcg/, the team who eliminated /dbg/ in /vg/ League X, now stood in their way once more. Unfortunately for /xcg/, the Dragon Ball players have been training since that last result and GOGETA DA quickly gave /dbg/ the lead in this battle for revenge. Rare Gohan later on found a goal as well and sent /dbg/ to half time with a 2-0 lead. Gogeta and Gohan yet again scored in the second half and /xcg/ had a mountain to climb to try and come back from a 4-0 deficit. But again, the Dragon Ball defense proved too much and only let one goal in by >99% Chance to Hit. With that, /xcg/ was eliminated in /dbg/'s highest victory to this date and it was time for the Semi Finals.

Fan favorite /gfg/ was up next, and unlike the two other knockout round matches, this game was tight all the way to the very end. Both keepers kept their team in the game for a full 90 minutes. This match may have been a 0-0 all the way to full time, however, it wasn't a slurper at all and kept fans and viewers alike on the edge of their seats. Then in the 113th minute, it finally happened. After a pass by Time Loli, GOGETA DA showed off some supreme ball control and made it 1-0 for /dbg/. /gfg/ tried to respond but the Gun Girls were just too tired, and the Dragon Ball General clinched onto their 1-0 lead, getting the ticket for the Finals where yet again a familiar face was waiting...

This time the familiar face was /fgog/, /dbg/'s opponents in Group E, proving that Group E really was a "Group of dEath". Their first match ended 0-0 but it shouldn't be a slurpfest this time around. GOGETA DA showed very early on why he was the new Gold captain by giving /dbg/ the lead after just five minutes. At the 24th minute OWARI DA scored a goal, making it 2-0 after cutting inside /fgog/'s box, and then the first half ended. Fate could not find a way through the "too strong /dbg/ defense," that's been on top of their game for the entire knockout round. OWARI DA didn't have enough goals yet and sunk another one in late in the game, giving /dbg/ a 3-0 lead at 83 minutes. This proved to be too much for /fgog/, and after a dominating performance in every sense of the word, /dbg/ took home the trophy as champions of the /vg/ League 11.

Being a champion can have its downsides. For instance, all eyes were now on /dbg/ that had to prove itself by showing that the previous championship wasn't just a fluke and avoid embarassement.
