| style="border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; background: #" | VDV has been a long standing meme on /k/ owing to their great history, combat capabilities and meme song. All of this was more or less shattered into pieces during the Russo-Ukranian war of 2022, as the VDV were extremely poorly deployed and took extremely high losses during the invasion. One famous example is the helicopter assault on Hostomel airfield north of Kyiv that resulted in at least 2x Ka-52 and a few transports getting shot down. The VDV were unable to hold the airfield against the Ukranian counter attack as support never came to back them up and they got more or less routed. What followed the next days of the invasion was a series of massive failures in terms of helicopter landings, paradrops and formations running into well prepared ambushes set up by the Ukranian forces. It spawned a few good memes. | |||

The different markings indicated where the vehicles came from. It kind of became the de facto war symbol for Russia. The high amount of vehicles with the "Z" marking on them combined with a lot of quite unusual vehicles showing up with "Z" markings on them ranging from tractors to vans made it quite the meme. This spawned a lot fun memes from shoops of all kinds of vehicles with Z on them to drawings of anthromorpic anime girls versions of the vehicles. | ||

| style="border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; background: #" | A catch-all term related to any weapon, vehicle, system, or otherwise that originates from traditionally Slavic countries. It is generally considered an epithet deriding the historically shoddy and unreliable nature of said items or an insult to those who prefer them over more Western technologies. Owners of slavshit may become incensed when called to the fact or may disregard the accusation as baseless and derived of outdated myths or anti-communist sentiment. Sometimes used in non-insulting fashion between owners of slavshit. | |||
