Ideas for a wo/m/en team were present since Summer 2013. However, the creation of Halloween /m/ and preparations for the [[2014 4chan Winter Cup]] pushed the team down in the council's priorities. After the Colony Drop the team was conceived. Its official debut was during the [[2014 4chan Summer Cup Friendlies]], where they faced [[/c/]], winning 3-1. It is expected that the Valkyries will be [[/m/]]'s official friendlies and/or invitiationals team during the upcoming cups.
