After an abysmal performance during [[Rigging_After_Dark]] where the team took a -6 (minus six) GD in its two games against {{team away|kanker}} and {{team away|ddg}}, the team hoped to make a better impression during the [https://implyingrigged.info/wiki//ag/_League /ag/_League]. Grouped with {{team away|mtg}}, {{team away|nba}} and {{team away|jojo}}, the team was off to a disapponting start against /mtg/ where the team lost 2-3 despite dominating most of the match. Success finally came against /nba/ with a clear 3-0 putting the team slightly ahead in a 3-3-3-3 group. This unusual configuration meant that a victory or a draw against /jojo/ would see the team through. Fortunately, the metals emerged as a winners of a very quite close game that isn't really summed up by the 5-2 score. In the round of 16, the team faced {{team away|drw}} and it looked bleak when the opponent took a 2 goal lead by half-time. Fixing passing improve the team considerably and by the 81st minute, the metals had turned it and ended winning 3-2. Next up was playing the infamous {{team away|4ccg}} in the quarter final, and the game was a complete chokefest on both sides. /metallurgy/ and /4ccg/ were so equally awful that it went to extra time but the purge was finally over when a /4ccg/ defender made the blunder of the century and Carbon seal the game 2-1 whith the cheekiest goal of the tournament. /metallurgy/ would win 3-2 in the semi-final against {{team away|nbl}} to find themselves against the dreaded {{team away|kanker}} in the final. /kanker/ had steamrolled the competition and would be a very tough opponent, but /metallurgy/ wasn't going down without a fight. The final was a complete slugfest, with Iron making a heroic effort with 8 saves, and lasted all the way to the end of extra time with 1-1.
