Team History

Making debut at the World Cup /vrpg/ started at level one, competing to make the best expression as possible facing veteran teams with lots of experience at their hand and did not disappoint. One draw, one loss and one win with Dagoth as their spearhead landed a respectable 34th place, close to the knockouts.

After grinding some world cup games, /vrpg/ finally achieved their basic skills, giving the ball to Dagoth Ur who brilliantly finished goals to deliver deliver the death blow to unprepared teams...

Sadly Autumn did not end as /vrpg/ wanted, and after getting bad rolls together with Rean still holding back, qualification to elite was nowhere to be seen. However, there is a bright future ahead for /vrpg/ and after some grinding sessions the team will be back to challenge the elites of 4CC once again after taking the babbie challenge in Spring.

The Power of Grinding

Even as Babbies was a cursed run for the grinding /vrpg/ team captained by Rean, his time as a captain would end after a horrible spring performance, and as spring went by and another autumn qualifier began the hero of /vrpg/ Dagoth Ur took over as the captain. With a cursed history, a couple of new members and multitude levels of alchemy to speedrun the fetus the gang finally did it. All it took was 3 matches, lots of potions and truly amazing god, to secure the spot in the autumn babbies cup. Will Dagoth Ur and the gang contain their winning spree? Time will decide, and now the true challange begins.

The babbies would not be a piece of cake for /vrpg/ as Dagoth and his men had to face the might of the witcher adapation, their old /v/alkan lad /vst/ and a reading of the lusty argonian by /lit/. The team practiced, grinded even more and when the group stage was at hand, Dagoth and his follower delivered. It was a close fight vs /vst/, with nukes dropping from the sky and as the end came by, vrpg stood strong, carried by the willpower of a tiny Terriermon and the might of Dagoth Ur. With motivation and willpower, /vrpg/ asserted dominance vs /lit/ and dominated /tv/ in a fashion 4CC was suprised about. Surely 9 points in a group would not give in to a curse that would fell this surge, Dagoth was too strong... However versus the cute anime girls of /c/ it happened, and the traitor showed himself in the face of Marche. After leading 1-0 for a long time, Marche showed his true self and scored an own goal vs /vrpg/ and ended the day in a tragedy, as Dagoth and his men went home with 9 points and a curse in their hand.

Will /v/inter show mercy? Or will the curse continue, noone knows and 2023 will show a new year of /vrpg/s.

The rise of the /v/alkans

After having its Christmas Break, Dagoth Ur and his dearest friend Momentai got placed in a true group of death with the powerhouse /u/, the very elite and muscular /y/ and the Autumn Babby winner /vg/. There was going to be a real trial by fire for the team, and after a hot and sweaty 2-2 duel wity /y/ the coming up matches would be do or die for Dagoth Ur and the lads. The match with /vg/ was quite a bloodbath, and was single handily won by the mainstay godkeeper /mon/day, who showed up when /vrpg/ needed it with 8 saves, to secure a 3-1 victory and their first every victory in an elite cup. In the match against /u/, /vrpg/ showed that you really cannot kill a god, as Dagoth showed dominance over Madokami to secure knockouts in a 3-2 victory. The first knockout game would be against /vp/, another old powerhouse, however not even Ash Ketchup could defeat a god, as it ended with a clear 2-1 victory. In the lads last match of the tournament they would face their fellow /v/alkan brother /vst/, and after all the punishment their little brother have gotten in the past... /vst/ joined up hard, and complerly dominated /vrpg/ with a 4-2 victory.

After the quarterfinal there is only one answer... it is time to grind more metal slimes, because in Summer, VRPG will be back, and is hungry for that Sun And Moon Dagoth Requires.

A summer of Nukes and Tragedies

9000 metal slimes and /vrpg/ was once again ready to take on another elite cup with the pro wrestlers from /pw/, the gun fanatics of /k/ and graphic designers of /gd. The first game vs /k/ ended with a close victory as Dagoth Ur once again showed why he is the anchor of team, and after a great early goal by "What is an RPG?" everyone realized that disco elysium is an RPG after all with a 2-1 victory. The 2nd match would be vs /pw/ and it was the Undertaker vs Dagoth show, both star player delivered and it ended on a close 2-2 draw with Dagoth once again showing why you cannot kill the god of football. With a win and in vs /gd/ the tension was high, however with the whole /vrpg/ team delivering, and with an amazing playmaker performance by Dagoth, the lads took a 4-1 victory, once again topping another group and now waiting for their fated /v/alkan brother /vst/ in the R016. Thus, that is how the run ended, /vrpg/ faced a fully powered up /vst/ with all tech researched and killed /vrpg/s dream of reaching the Sun and Moon that our god desires. The team will be back in Winter and next time, they will not show mercy to the teams opposing a god.

A winter of tragedy but also survival

With another cold elite cup on the way, /vrpg/ once again had to fight their fellow /v/alkan brothers /vst/ in group stage along with /his/ and /aco/. The team started strong with a win against /his/, however the match vs /vst/ would be all different. /vrpg/ started with a strong 3-0 at half time, feeling relaxed after for the first being in a strong lead vs /vst/, they didn't realize it was the calm before the storm and lost in a horrible 3-4 defeat in the end. With their life on as stake /vrpg/ therefore needed a win vs /aco/ and they got it, after a real 1-0 sleeper and once again advanced to the knockout stage of another elite cup. However in the end, facing a powerful /wsg/ /vrpg/ lost and got more time to level up for their new campaign in Summer!
