He was first featured in the movie "Fusion Reborn" over 20 years ago and it was his first and only appearance ever which also only lasted around 5 minutes. On top of that it was considered non-canon. That is until the movie "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" came out which actually played into the series' storyline and was therefore canon.
