One might be surprised at the considerable overlap between historians and people who just wanna shoot, stab and generally blow stuff up innawoods. But consider, for a moment, the common ground:
The simple and unassuming Cannon changed sieges, war, and the very fabric of history as we knew it - from rattling defenders at Constantinople (rip) to shredding the Krauts at Breitenfield with canister shot.
Genghis Khan? His footsoldiers sported recurve bows that were lighter, easier to shoot, and more powerful than the English longbow, capable of being fired while riding a horse in the other direction.
Bronze Age Collapse? Caused (among other reasons) by the spread of iron metallurgy and new military tactics. That's a cool chariot army, King whoever-the-shit you are. Taste my cast iron spears and longswords.
American Civil War? Nice fucking massed smoothbore muskets, Cletus, but have you met my friends Springfield and Enfield?
