4CC Karaoke is a comfy get together of Cup fans making fools of themselves on stream, showcasing their abject lack of talent and questionable taste in music. Streams happen irregularly, whenever there is sufficient interest. Watch this page to receive an email notification each time it is updated, so you know when the next stream will be and you can sign up to sing.

Guidelines

It's karaoke, so we >want to hear you sing. Make sure your volume settings allow listeners to hear you over your song. You're encouraged to find a karaoke version (no vocals) of the song(s) you plan to sing, but this isn't required as long as we can hear you alright. The emphasis is on having fun, not coming across as a pro.

All singers are welcome. You do not have to be a good singer or even an okay one. Everyone will get memed on anyway.

How To

4CC Karaoke is coordinated via Skype. To join, send a Skype request to FourChanCupKaraoke and add a message to your request asking to sign up.

You will need to be able to play music through Skype in order for it to be audible on stream. There are a number of ways you can accomplish this, such as using programs like Virtual Audio Cable. One easy method is to simply enable Stereo Mix in your computer's sound settings. Stereo Mix is usually disabled by default. To turn it on in Windows, right-click your speaker icon in the system tray and go to Recording Devices (or access this menu by going to Control Panel|Hardware and Sound|Sound). Now right-click in an open space and make sure that "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices" are ticked. If you see something other than microphone disabled it may be the stereo mix. Sometimes it is named something different. Once you have Stereo Mix enabled, you will need to set up Skype. There are two ways to complete this:

1) Tools > Options > Audio > Set Stereo Mix where the microphone would go, or
2) If you are already in a call (this should not apply to you, because you are a good reader and did all of this prior to calling in), you must bring up the Call Options (wifi looking icon), then under the microphone tab you can set Stereo Mix.

Please test your setup with a friend (>implying) prior to calling into the show. It will be hard enough for listeners to endure your crooning; don't subject them to technical difficulties on top of that.

Next Karaoke Night and Sign Up List

This section will be updated each time a karaoke night is scheduled. To sign up, edit this section to add your cup name (if applicable) and Skype username. You will be added to the rotation and called during the stream. The sign up list will be deleted after each stream, so you must sign up for each karaoke night you would like to participate in. People who sign up in advance will be given priority over people volunteering to sing during the stream, but we'll try to fit everyone in.
