The /sci/ football club is the representative of the Science and Math board in the 4chan Champions Cup, originally making their debut on the 2012 Spring Babby Cup -and taking the third place overall-, /sci/ has been characterized by a chaotic style of play that has resulted in getting promoted to the elite cups, only to be relegated right after them. Founded by Lion !FvAwVR8cv6 on January 6, 2012 and a couple of willing anons helped build the foundations of the current team as it is. Although with the accusations of /jp/ that the cup is a money making scheme and that /sci/ hasn't had any success with team sports in real life the fan support has gone down, but a small fanbase is dedicated not only to avoid the team dying, but also making them a contender along with the big boards.
/sci/ has been characterised by having long serving manages, although the first 2 tournaments they participated were unmanaged, in Autumn they were taken over by Atrox !!ysAUn7ak5wA and got promoted into Winter 2013, but after a heartbreaking loss against /fit/ Atrox decided to play mindgames with his infamous B-I-L-L formations which didn't work out and was tired at that point. So in Summer new manager Aitor Karanka !!vHwU8e1Ta/3 took over just 11 days before the cup started and got relegated back to the Autumn Babbies, now with a helping hand from SUPERtwinky !!G5xDaK3GlNe, /sci/ is determined to be back at the Elite cup while playing A Glorious Dawn as their victory anthem.

Manager's Thoughts on the 2012 Autumn Babbys
"I'm pretty sure we'll get out of the group. We'll almost certainly thrash /cgl/, due to their punishment, as will all teams, so /cgl/ can be ignored, meaning it is between /sci/, /f/ and /trv/.
I am confident of defeating /f/, and if we don't even get a draw it is definitely rigged. I haven't tested as much against /trv/, however, they should beat /f/ as well, meaning we just need to draw with them, something that is very possible.
In the first knock-out round we will be against a team from group D, one of the toughest groups, containing three very good teams. However, I will have a week to develop a counter, so don't worry. If we win that, it's onto the quarter-final, which probably will be easier, as groups A and B are weaker. After that it's hard to say, but we will probably play the winner or runner-up of group G, the group of death, then it's a simple matter of the final.
So, in summary: should definitely progress, if we can get through the round of 16, we should get to the semis, which will admittedly require a bit of luck to win, as will the final." -Atrox
2012 4chan Autumn Babby Cup
/sci/ was another team that faced disaster in the friendlies leading up to the Babby cup. Out of their three matches, their best result was a 0-0 draw with /co/, but the lowest point was their 7-1 loss to /wg/, with viewers showing strong disapproval of the new goal horn that replaced Bill Nye's theme song. Atrox still had faith in his team despite these results, and was proven to be right in having faith as /sci/ would once again be seen as one of the favorites to go far in the cup after a 4-1 victory over Old Man Sou's /f/. The team's goal horn was changed back to the Bill Nye theme song, much to the pleasure of the viewers as they watched Bill Nye blaze through /f/'s defense with a hat trick. This would be followed up with a very poor performance over /cgl/, who was punished with not having any G/S/B players and a goalkeeper with a rating of 1. Molly's /cgl/ even managed to score a goal in this match, but /sci/ managed to save face as Richard Feynman scored the winner at the 88th minute. This was enough to send /sci/ to the 2013 Winter cup as they had 6 points, along with /trv/, while /cgl/ and /f/ had no points with only one match remaining in this group. Because of this, /sci/ and /trv/ rested their star players and the match that followed was dull, but it provided a few surprises. First, /trv/ took the lead with their goalkeeper scoring a free kick in the first half. In the second half, Epicurus made sure the crowd at least heard the Bill Nye theme song in this poor match as he scored a very impressive goal for a striker with a rating of 45, and the match ended with a 1-1 draw. /trv/ topped the group with this result and /sci/ was in second place, which led to them facing /mlp/. In the end, some may wonder if resting their players against /trv/ was the right decision, as that draw was the reason that /sci/ faced the team that would eliminate them. Despite a double from Bill Nye, /mlp/ would win this hard-fought match that ended with the score being 3-2.
2013 4chan Winter Cup
/sci/ returned to a major 4chan cup and the draw for the groups got the team drawn into Group E with /int/, /fit/ and /vg/. Their first match against /int/ was intense for the first half, but Putin would strike first with a goal after a sublime pass from Polandball. Not long afterwards, /sci/ would give away a penalty that would cost them the game dearly with Putin scoring it. Lazy Greek's own goal only proved to be a consolation in a match that ended with /int/ winning 2-1. The second matchday had /sci/ facing /vg/, a team that had just fallen victim to the most dangerous lead. Bill Nye scored what would be his only goal of the tournament, but New Thread quickly responded with a goal of his own. Right before the end of the half, /vg/'s Plesioth was sent off. Despite rather poor conditioning on /sci/'s defense, /vg/ couldn't do much for the next half, while /sci/ was firing on all cylinders. Aquatic Hamster scored /sci/'s winning goal in a match that ended with the score being 2-1.
Group E's final matchday had /sci/ facing off against /fit/ in a match that would determine who would advance and who would get relegated. A draw was all that /fit/ needed in order to advance due to the goals they scored, and for /sci/, a win was mandatory for survival. /sci/ would be left mirin' for much of the first half due to /fit/'s Tinytrip scoring twice early on. At the last minute of the first half, Nikola Testa got /sci/ a goal that gave the impression of the most dangerous lead possibly striking again in the group. Due to Bill Nye's purple condition, and the midfield having mostly blue conditioning, /sci/ couldn't get much chances, while /fit/ just kept the chances coming. Finally in the 83rd minute, Zyzz scored a decisive goal. Just when it looked like it was all over, Epicurus would give /sci/ one last bit of hope with a goal of his own. Sadly, it just wasn't enough and /fit/ won 3-2, sending /sci/ back to the Spring Babby cup.
2013 4chan Spring Babby Cup
Once again, /sci/ was in the Spring Babby Cup hoping to return to the Summer Cup and getting near the success they once had. On the last match of the first matchday, /sci/ faced /lit/ in what is easily one of the worst matches in cup history. First, there was some confusion with /sci/'s roster for about 5 minutes. The next 10 minutes were spent trying to understand Atrox's instructions he left behind for /sci/, and /lit/'s manager didn't take advantage of this time to look at his team's conditioning, leading to a complaint in the middle of the match. When the match was finally underway, the football in it was plain bad, and it was made worse by the commentators who had lost their minds. Bill Nye put /sci/ ahead near the end of the first half, but /lit/ came back in the second half to win the Intellectual Derby 2-1. To top this all off, one of /lit/'s substitutes was found out to be an illegal player due to being able to play more than one position: /sci/'s campaign could not have gotten to a worse start.
Not Science got /sci/ the only goal they needed against a hyped /ck/ team in a 1-0 win. The next opponents were /f/, who had just lost both of their previous two matches. Unfortunately for /sci/, they were not able to blaze past /f/ like in the last match they had with each other. /f/ dominated and won 2-0, a result which left /sci/ in last place of the group, and led to Atrox leaving the team unmanaged for the time being.
2013 4chan Summer Cup
/sci/ would be one of the numerous teams promoted to the Summer Cup due to the effects of Dragongate. With a new manager named Aitor Karanka, there was a hint of faith restored in the team. Despite drawing 2-2 against /co/ in a friendly before the cup with a joke tactic, /co/ got their revenge with a 2-1 win over /sci/ in the group stage. Another familiar opponent was next, but /sci/ would once again disappoint with a 5-1 loss to /ck/, an opponent that had lost to /sci/ in the previous Babby Cup. As a result of /pol/ also losing their first two games, /sci/ would be relegated with /pol/ with one fixture remaining. The final group stage match was played in a pitch filled with Ron Paul imagery. With both teams using joke tactics, the match was dull, but at the very least /sci/ won with Bill Nye scoring the only goal of the match, much to the delight of the viewers who spammed BILL BILL BILL.

Rivalries
/sci/ vs /jp/ - The Money Making & Anti-Intellectual Shitposting Derby
Money making schemes made /jp/ the uncontended world 4chan Cup hating champions, but recently /sci/ have emerged as a threat to their crown, thanks to their strong anti-intellectualism tactics. With all 20 of /sci/'s regular users spending 10+ hours a day plotting the cup's downfall, the battle to be the board that actually takes it down will be represented here, through the medium they both so despise.
/sci/ vs /lit/ - The Intellectual Derby
A match filled with brains and boredom (specially the 10+ minute managing spaghetti at the 2013 Spring Babbies), both boards enjoy reading but /sci/ prefers books that have the purpose of understanding the universe and physics while /lit/ prefers to read made up stories that are 2deep4u. The /lit/erati see the /sci/entists as a soulless team, as for The Team of Science say they are just jelly of their 300k starting jobs in Math because they took an actual helpful God Tier Major instead of ending up on the dole because of their shit tier majors. As for 4CC matters, /lit/ has won the two matches but /sci/ will keep on testing until they can find a scientifically proven tactic that will drive them to victory.
/sci/ vs /pol/ - The Progressb Owl
Both boards want the best for humanity, although they both disagree on some aspects: /pol/ disagrees with the moral values of /sci/ and /sci/ disagrees with the ethnic cleansing proposals of /pol/. These matches are filled with air raids and nuclear testings so the happenning is now. Both boards have met three times, the first time was a 2-1 victory for the /sci/entists with goals by Richard Feynman and Dawkins, the next one was a 2-1 win for the /pol/acks in the 2012 Summer Cup friendlies. Given /pol/'s elite status and /sci/'s decline both boards had to wait one year to face each other again, this time in the 2013 Summer Cup, the hype was killed given that both boards were relegated to the Autumn Babbies before the match, but that didn't stop outgoing /pol/'s manager Cozmo and current /sci/ manager Aitor Karanka to give the fans some fun before going out: /sci/ went out with the famous B formation and /pol/ went with the Blitzkrieg formation with 2 9/11 sliders and finally at both managers request the match was played was at the Doom Paul pitch giving both laughs and eyesores. The match itself ended with a 1-0 victory for the /sci/entist with a goal by Bill Nye, therefore giving /sci/ a current advantage at this derby.
