Quick disclaimer: I have NOT tested and confirmed all of these, and am just basing it off of limited experience and what others have written. Take with a grain of salt. If I don't mention a slider, it means it hasn't been changed.
Today I discovered the select button, and thus PES's in game manual. All new slider descriptions are copied from that.

''Player Support''
''Player Support''
*Works similar to 2013, but the values have been reversed. Lower values mean teammates try to move ahead of the ball carrier, higher values mean teammates try to stay behind the ball carrier.
*The higher the value, the more the players lay emphasis on ball retention when positioning themselves. On a lower level, they will look to maintaining the team's overall shape.

''Front Line Pressure''
''Front Line Pressure''
*Exactly the same as Pressing but now only applies to front-line players. I don't know what players PES labels as front-line, but if I had to guess I'd say just forwards.
*The higher the level, the more pressure that will be applied by players in advanced positions.

''Defensive Compactness''
''Defensive Compactness''
*Works similar to Compactness in 2013, only reversed (like Player Support). Lower values mean the defense spreads out more, higher values mean they position tighter. Similar to FLP in that it only affects specific players, in this case "defensive" ones. Probably just defenders, but I'm not sure.
*The higher the level, the more compact the team's overall shape becomes when defending.

''Shifting to Attack''
''Shifting to Attack''
*Brand-new slider, dictates the pace of the team's build-up. Lower values mean a slower build-up (tiki taka), higher values mean the team will push into the final third faster.
*The higher the level, the more the players tend to maraud forward when defence turns into attack. Conversely on a lower level, the players will tend to lay more emphasis on retaining possession and will position themselves in such a manner.

''Attack/Defense Level''
''Attack/Defense Level''
*Basically a replacement for 2013's mentalities, which are now gone. Higher values mean more aggressive, offensive movement, lower values mean players will position more cautiously (needs confirmation).
*The higher the level, the more the players tend to take up advanced positions. This affects the number of players who joins the attack in set pieces.

Installation

This is the current installation guide for installing the 4cc version of PES14.

Step 1: Base Game

http://thepiratebay.sx/torrent/8934579/Pro.Evolution.Soccer.2014-RELOADED
http://kickass.to/pes-2014-pc-eng-repack-mini-image-t7888283.html
Pick one and download. If you already have a PES2014 copy or used the first torrent, pick up the Mini Image data from the second torrent.

Use one of the following serials when requested in the installation process:
WR92 - PN7U - Y9YV - EYC3 - R2U2
HNY6 - JD2U - 3CXK - 4UC6 - FUC2
2ELE - LMYW - UDMT - L9HN - HPPH
JPL4 - CNTS - J5XS - SNMD - 3FV3
FKWL - F2C6 - DTX6 - 7VE5 - R93A

Step 2: Patch That

http://www.pes-patch.com/2013/11/pes-2014-patch-1-04-released-18-november.html
Download that, and run the .exe.

Step 3: Crack That

There's no working crack at this time. Stay tuned, and see Step 3a.

Step 3a: Miniaturize That

Luckily, there are still ways to run games without a license. Get the mini-image from torrent #2 in Step 1 if you haven't already. Start your trusty iso-mounting software that can create SCSI drives, such as DAEMON Tools Lite. Create a vritual SCSI drive, mount the .mds file, and try to run the game with the official pes2014.exe from where ever you installed it.

If you get an error about a back-up, you created something that is not a SCSI drive and it won't work. If you get a SecuROM error about something something illegal copy, you'll have to get an IDE drive with Daemon Tools Pro.

At this point your basic PES14 1.04 should be working, and your game should be at v1.04. If it does not work yet, don't worry just yet.

Step 4: Append DLC to That

http://www.pes-patch.com/2013/11/pes-2014-dlc-2-0-download.html
Download the DLC from the link above. Grab all the files in it and move them to C:\ProgramData\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2014\download. Note: that is ProgramData, not Program Files nor your installation directory. ProgramData may be hidden in your Windows Explorer, just manually enter the address in the address bar. If you've done it correctly, PES will show you a bunch of shoes on next startup.

At this point PES should be on v1.04 DLC 2.00

Step 5: Mod That

http://www44.zippyshare.com/v/94379931/file.html
So there's an offical 4CC modpack. Extract, then follow the instructions on the readme. Very straightforward. If you forgot what the DLC filepath is see Step 4. Note on the executables: if you want to import or export teams ingame, you need to mount a mini image and run pes2014.exe. Otherwise, you can just run 4cc.exe (no mini image needed).

At the moment the 4cc modpack does not include rld.dll, because Sexcopter forgot to include it. You can download it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0TwHGHvKz8TU19fb3ZZTlk4LU0/edit?usp=sharing . Your virusscanner might think this file is a virus, if it does, just whitelist it.

Step 6: Interact With That Using Third-Party Programs

If you plan to do anything with your copy of PES 2014, an editor program will make your life a million times easier. To the extent of my knowledge, there is no 2014 version of PES Editor, which is what we used for PES 2013. Right now only Pro-Evo Editing Studio 2014 is available, which is still in alpha. Be on the look out for updates though. http://www.peseditblog.com/2013/10/pro-evo-editing-studio-2014-01-by.html

4CC Rules for PES 2014

This assumes you're already familiar with the team rules for 2013, and just need to know what's changed.

  • Game difficulty is set to Professional
  • Goalkeepers have 66 in Saving, Jump, and Goalkeeping, 99 in Defensive Prowess, and 77 in everything else
  • All 77s get 88 Defensive Prowess
  • Every player gets a free Playing Style choice, card rules remain the same
  • The captain of the team gets a free Captaincy card which does not count for the individual and team card limit

These are all subject to change over the next month or so.

Exporting and importing teams

For this you need to use the official/real pes2014.exe with the mini-image. Go to the edit menu and select export function, pick the team you want to export and a saveslot for it. After this your export will be saved in \Documents\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2014\save.

To import a team, dump the team export file in \Documents\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2014\save, go to the edit menu in PES14 and select import. Now make sure to overwrite the team it is supposed to overwrite, so a /mlp/-export.bin will overwrite /mlp/ in game and not /a/ for example, and you're done.

Changes to Tactical Options

A few additions/subtractions of note to the tactical side of things.

  • Several new Playing Styles have been introduced, some of 2013's Playstyle cards have become Playing Styles.
  • New cards, some existing cards have been modified.
  • To the extent of my knowledge, dots and arrows have been removed. But they were invisible without use of an editor in 2013, so when more features get added to 2014's editors we may see they've just been hiding all along. Maybe not though, I have no evidence either way.

Slider changes

Today I discovered the select button, and thus PES's in game manual. All new slider descriptions are copied from that.

Player Support

  • The higher the value, the more the players lay emphasis on ball retention when positioning themselves. On a lower level, they will look to maintaining the team's overall shape.

Defensive Compactness
