Team History

Prologue

The 9th of December of 2016, the first recorded effort to make a /vip/ team started. However, the discussion thread made by HE WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED, did more against the prospect of a future /vip/ team than anything. The thread in question is a perfect display of what a manager shouldn't do. The lack of common sense shown by the manager made his >polls and the thread a perfect target for trolls coming from /4ccg/ and /admin/ members who were rightfully pissed off at the whole thing. It also didn't help that the board was born 2 months before and that it had zero culture. The official /vip/ wiki page was locked indefinately the day after the thread was made. 20 days later, the manager lost his shit so hard that he quit, leaving the team on the hands of a team supporter and starting to post random shit about his life and pony porn. As a wise anon said at the end of the thread, >If I kill myself, will this nightmare go away? How did /vip/ let this happen?

The 3rd of October 2017, Incoming made a meme team composed by edited captcha images for invitationals. Despite him making a tactical export, the aesthetics were never finished and basically, he left the project unfinished. At least, he offered the wiki, his ideas and the tactical export to anyone willing to make a /vip/ team either seriously or for >fun.

Modern Era

The 18th of August 2021, the Eternal /vip/ 4CC Thread was created. Due to a lack of interest and the /vip/ janny waking up from his sleep and deleting the thread, the board didn't put any input into a future team. However, the poster behind the thread decided to keep coming up with ideas for a possible invitational team that would resemble in some way what /vip/ has to offer, even on an unofficial level. After months of aesthetic making and tactical autism, /vip/ made it's official debut in the Banned Bowl '21, where the team faced fellow banned boards like /trash/, a dying  /qa/, and > /j/. The team managed to dominate group stage, performing a clean sweep and getting into the finals, where /j/ got its revenge and won 2-0. Nevertheless, a second place exceeded the initial expectations management had and efforts will be made to keep taking part in more invitationals or even friendlies.
