/p/ is the photography board of 4chan. The team was Formed in March of 2016 and despite being a newcomer was able to break through the 2016 Spring Fetus and get into the 2016 Spring Babby where they snapped their way into the Summer Cup by beating /b/ and /x/.

History

Despite being one of the oldest boards on 4chan /p/ did not gain entree into the 4chan Cup until Spring of 2016 where multiple /p/ members shitposting about a team realized there are more than just themselves.

Eventually a thread on /p/ was formed showing organic interest and support where team colors, logo, opening roster, anthem, etc. Most importantly a /p/ homegrown manager was established in the thread who quickly went onto charm Lear into allowing /p/ into the 2016 Spring Babby Cup Qualifiers, despite much pushback from many shitposters on /4ccg/.

2016 Spring Babby Cup Qualifiers

/p/ was slotted into Group C - with /y/, /trv/ and /t/. /p/ played it's first match ever against /y/ - where Gearfag notched the first goal in /p/ history. Eventually /y/ would tie it up and end the game draw. /p/ responded big time in the following match against /t/ - putting 4 goals up and gaining the critical 3 points. Captain Ken Rockwell put up a hat trick and Crush the Blacks got the game winner. On the 3rd and final Matchday of the Qualifiers, /y/ and /t/ tied, causing /p/ to clinch top 2 and qualification into the full babby cup, no matter the results against /trv/. /p/ went onto face /trv/ in a match that meant little but for pride. Despite a pair of early goals for /trv/, the Gearaffes snagged a draw from the jaws of defeat in a back and forth game.

/p/ ended the group with 1 win and 2 draws. 8 goals for and 7 goals against.

2016 Spring Babby Cup

/p/ has grouped with fellow 2004 board /b/, spooky /x/ and /vp/. The first match of the group pitted /p/ against /b/ in the "Snap and Shit" 04 Derby. Resize your shit started off the day with the goal, followed by Gearfag and then two by Ken Rockwell, giving /p/ a comfortable 4-2 win. A few days later with qualification to Summer 2016 in hand /p/ took on /x/ at the void. /x/ took a 2-0 lead at 55th minute and it looked bleak for /p/. Crush the Blacks would net one at 67' to pull within one, setting up one of the best comebacks of the tournament. /p/ desperately drove forward, trying to get the equalizer that would put them in better position to qualify, and at the 90th minute Ken Rockwell found the ball sitting in the box and zoomed it pass the keeper to make the match level, but Rockwell was not done. In the dying 4 minutes of stoppage /p/ intercepted the ball after kickoff, bringing a wide attack on and with a few nice passes got it to Ken Rockwell in the 90th+4 to give /p/ an amazing 3-2 win, securing their place in the playoff and Summer 2016 Elite Cup.
