The 2017 /hoc/ League is the inaugural season-formatted version of /hoc/. Of course, it has nothing to do with the actual general on /sp/ really. It's just hockey. Hockey memes and goofs. /hoc/ is more fun to say though. Click here for more information on the format of /hoc/ League.
The draw took place on September 8th, here. Each team's schedule is displayed in the column of that team's name/page link. Each team plays conference opponents twice and non-conference opponents once, so 2 * 3 + 1 * 4 = 10 games. Teams will play one home and one away game versus conference opponents and two home games against two random non-conference opponents and vice versa for away games. The first, ninth and tenth weeks of the season are rigged to be division matches, though not specific division matches. Everything else is random. This is the result of the draw:
The teams are split into two Conferences, Prince of Wales and Clarence B. Campbell. Each conference will send the two best teams at the conclusion of the regular season to the playoffs. These are the current standings for both:
As written above, teams will play two games against each conference opponent and one game against each non-conference opponent, totaling 10 games. Weeks one, nine and ten are division weeks.. Times and dates are subject to change due to IRL bullshit, so check this page often! Hopefully everything will be set in stone at least a week away from each matchday. All weeks will start about 3 hours after normal cup time on Fridays, though not during the Autumn Babby Cup weekends.
The first 6 weeks should run as normal, week-to-week. Then things get a little interesting with the Autumn Babby Cup and its qualifiers. There is no divegrass other than the cup to be streamed on the main channel during cups. A break will be nice as well, so we'll take those three weeks off. Right now, the plan is to run a doubleheader on the weeks leading up to and following the Babby (October 20th and November 17th). Crunchtime, if you will. The last week will stand alone and probably have an All-Star game as a celebration of the season as a whole and the best players during the season (November 24th). Then the playoffs will happen the following week (December 1st).
