/gd/ (commonly stylized /GD/ or GDFC) is a simulated football team representing 4chan's Graphic Design board in the 4chan Cup. It was created during the event known as the Fifth Founding during Spring in 2013. It currently holds the 20th place in the 4chan Ranking.

2014 Summer Cup Friendlies

Following a successful campaign in the 2014 4chan Spring Babby Cup that resulted in /gd/'s return to its rightful place in elite cup football, the club agreed to two friendly matches against teams that had performed above expectations in the last cup. In their first friendly fixture, /gd/ faced off against rivals /ic/ in a non-competitive replay of the Artb Owl. /gd/ busted out a brand new and unexpected 3-4-3 formation with box-to-box wingers instead of fullbacks, which didn't seem to work very well. After a turgid performance and barely any attacking throttle, /gd/ rightfully lost to their rivals in a disappointing and rather droll 2-0 match. Their second friendly was against a team that had earned its reputation as one of the big little teams - /po/. The game was played in unusual circumstances, with the pitch literally transforming into a white void of deep and poetic shit that had everyone questioning the purpose and fundamental building blocks of their existence. Many people thought the match would be a snoozefest, though were quickly proven wrong as within the span of one half, both teams scored 2 goals each and the second half didn't look like it was going to be any different. Despite having the benefit of being invisible on that pitch, /po/ underestimated /gd/'s flawless utilization of whitespace and the match ended in a thrilling 5-2 after /gd/ took full initiative during the second half. After what was arguably the best match in the Summer friendlies, /gd/ now look forward to their take two at elite cup football, aspiring to prove just how much damage they can do when they don't throw games.

Artistb Owl For so long, /ic/ have been the main artistic board of 4chan. But now /gd/' aspires to take that title from them. In spite of the many claims that graphic design is not "real art", /gd/ continues being the unrelenting noisy neighbor, who intends to show their cocky rivals just how big the logo can get.

Survival of the Fetus Derby Regarded as two of the best Fifth Founding teams, /gd/ and /lgbt/ were the only 2 provisional teams to get promoted in their first ever Babby Cup. Despite only ever facing off in the 2014 4chan Winter Cup Friendlies, a match that ended in a hard-fought 3-2 /gd/ victory, these two aspiring giants always create supercharged matches.

Renders vs Rasters Derby A minor derby in comparison to the latter 2, but still with a good charge to it. Despite being a slow, underperforming board, /3/ are not a team to be underestimated. Another team in the creative category, /3/ may not be /gd/'s bitterest rival, but they do intend to knock those pesky 2D artist kids off their high perch.
