2017 4chan Winter Cup
2017 4chan Spring Babby Cup

The 2017 4chan Winter Cup will be the twenty-second official 4chan Cup tournament and the sixth iteration of the Winter Cup series. The tournament will be played on dates to be decided during the weekends of February, 2017. Teams which advanced to the knockout stage of the 2016 4chan Summer Cup, as well those which secure promotion from the 2016 4chan Autumn Babby Cup will compete at the event.

Due to their generous contributions to ensure the continued existence of the 4chan Cup /vip/ will be the host of their debut tournament.

Competitors

Thirty-two teams are scheduled to compete at this tournament, fifteen of the teams qualified by means of advancing to the knockout stage of the 2016 4chan Summer Cup, sixteen teams qualified by advancing from the 2016 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, and the last team was admitted after a completely unrelated series of payments were made to members of the 4chan Cup Committee.

This cup will be the Winter Cup debut of /vip/, /p/, and /w/.

The following teams have qualified by advancing from the 2016 4chan Summer Cup:

The following teams have qualified by promoting from the 2016 4chan Autumn Babby Cup:

The following team was granted entry to the tournament after the just removal of the traitors and villains /mlp/ from the Cup completely.

Pots

Teams are placed in four different pots based on seeding. Seeding is determined by:

  1. Finishing position of the top 16 teams from the 2016 4chan Summer Cup in that tournament
  2. Finishing position of the top 16 teams from the 2016 4chan Autumn Babby Cup in that tournament
  3. Amount of money donated to the members of the 4chan Cup Committee

All of the highest-seeded competitors (the top seven finishers from Summer) and our grand sponsers /vip/ are placed in Pot 1, the next-highest in Pot 2, and so on until all four pots contain eight teams.
