Introduction
Adult GIF is 4chan's board of crushed dreams, broken hearts and ruined egos. So if you ever do fancy watching some people have sex and don't know what to look for on your favourite site; pay /gif/ a visit, and you will find something to fulfil your appetite. Just don't expect much help to find the full video.
After their founding after the winter 2012 cup; /gif/ have never really amounted to much more than a team whose games can be treated as a time to go and stock up on snacks.
Their slow, boring play however saw rise to the legend that came to pass as the legend of Sauce Senior: The father to the original 5 Sauce brothers who filled up the front line of /gif/. After losing a long fight with cancer, his spirit now watches over the players of the team that continues to battle to finally take their place amongst the elite 32 and try for the winter and summer cups.
The team anthem is Don't say gif.
The goal horn is Bogs Bo-ASS! TITTIES! ASS N' TITTIES!

History
2012 - Tragedy, blunders, and plenty of Sauce
In the earlier days, /gif/ was simply a boring team with the gimmick of having a bench filled with different versions of Sauce players (Gibe Sauce, Need Sauce, Source, etc.) - all their players also had the same blank custom faces and the same height.
Due to the nature of the /gif/ player names, Germanbro made some commentary throughout early /gif/ matches about a certain Sauce Sr. who passed away after a long battle with illness.
As the team was very slow to find some actual personality, the tactical aspect seemed to be respectable enough, as it's rumored that /gif/ actually had a manager for this cup, someone named Rammak who only managed for this cup. With his tactics, /gif/ topped their 2012 4chan Spring Babby Cup group, but did not qualify for the Summer Cup. In the controversial system used at the time, teams were randomly chosen to be in playoffs, and with that, /gif/ were stuck in a playoff against /sci/ where they lost 1-0.
The friendlies that followed mostly brought unmemorable displays. Not much more could be expected from an unmanaged team, but /gif/ did get an astonishing win over /k/, the 2012 4chan Winter Cup champion.
When the 2012 4chan Autumn Babby Cup came around, there wasn't hype for /gif/ in a group of teams with few (if any) fans. They did start off strong with a 4-1 win over /lit/, a team whose manager got a bit of infamy for putting a bunch of players out of position for this match. Everything fell apart for /gif/ during their match against /soc/. Management made all the difference here because /soc/ had a manager correcting mistakes and pulling off a great comeback. /gif/, on the other hand, could only be guided by >PES and looked clueless after taking the 3-1 lead.
In the last match for /gif/ in this cup, a managerless /adv/ completely humiliated them in a blowout. A manager had shown up shortly after this cup, but would disappear after posting in the /vg/ 4chan cup threads for just a few days.
2013 - Stuck in the babbies
Until April 2013, /gif/ was completely inactive, and they returned to 4chan cup action with a win over /s/ in their only friendly just before the 2013 4chan Spring Babby Cup.
However, in the actual cup, /gif/ and /tv/ got the dubious distinction of being in the first cup opening match that ended up being a 0-0 draw. In the match that followed /gif/ saved a point with a late Sauce goal against /po/. Though /gif/ could dare to dream with the two points they had, the mighty >/vp/ eliminated them. It was in this match that /gif/ used the Bogs Bonny goalhorn for the first time. The reason for this was that a short-lived manager took over for /gif/ and left some time after the loss to /vp/.
A while before Autumn, /gif/ found management from Belugah. During this time, /gif/ ditched the boring gray kits in favor of new ones that had the shocked Bugs Bunny face and carrots all over.
This new /gif/ was rolling into the 2013 4chan Autumn Babby Cup with momentum - they had two wins in a row before the cup and got a win in their cup rematch against /tv/. Then a >PES controversy came into play.
/gif/ lost 3-6 to /s/, and later drew 3-3 against /hr/. The point from the last draw set up a dramatic final stage of the group: if /tv/ beat /s/ 4-0, then /gif/ and /s/ would finish equal (2nd and 3rd place) on all stats including goals for, goal difference, etc.
And yep, you guessed it (or watched it): /tv/ managed the 4-0 victory that sparked the controversy and rule defining choice of who should advance, /gif/ on alphabet abuse (coming first in the alphabet since this is what >PES was actually going to do), or /s/ on the head-to-head (beating /gif/ 6-3).
After debate, it was decided that head-to-head prevailed, and /gif/ admitted defeat to /s/ to keep them in 3rd place and out of winter.
Despite a very exciting run of matches, the fact remained that /gif/ was still stuck in the babbies. Until...
2014 - Finally in a major cup, AND THEN BACK DOWN TO THE GRAVE
/gif/ advanced into the 2014 4chan Winter Cup cup along with /asp/ through the lack of a PES 2014 export from the managers of /pol/ and /fa/. Seeing as though the team had an export from the 2014 Winter Friendlies and were one of the two closest to advancing from the 2013 Autumn Babbies, /gif/ were placed into Group D along with /mu/, /gd/ and /u/.
The dream was finally a reality, but it got off to a boring start: /gif/ drew 0-0 with /u/ in their first match in a top 4chan cup. In a strange twist of events, /gif/ got propelled to the top of the table after beating a rigged /gd/ 4-0. Despite putting 3 in in the first half and Sauce adding another hat trick to his name, the main focus was on the intentional throwing of the game by /gd/'s manager. Said manager was subsequently banned from all interaction with the cup.
Following a /u/ defeat to /gd/, /gif/ was already secured in a top two position, with a win or draw putting them above /mu/. A well fought goal by Source put the team after half an hour and set the side on the way to victory. A great showing from the red conditioned number 1, 'Sexy Celebs', kept the dominant /mu/ at bay until Is This Real? sealed the deal with a late cheeky lob to set /gif/ happily on the top of the table. For the first time in their history, /gif/ was in the round of 16 of a major 4chan cup.
Unfortunately, the dream came to an end here: /gif/ lost out to a better, more experienced team in /toy/. It was a hard-fought match that went to extra time, but Madoka Titus gave /toy/ the only goal they needed at the 96th minute.
After reaching the Round of 16 in Winter, /gif/ were invited to their first ever Summer Cup. The heat couldn't be higher, being drawn into Group H alongside /toy/; the side that put an end to /gif/'s winter run, fan favorite /tg/, and an unpredictable /po/.
Following a forgettable draw with /po/, /toy/ had little trouble beating /gif/ 2-0 in their rematch. There was still some hope of avoiding relegation despite this poor form - /tg/ had lost their previous two matches and were already out of the cup.
Despite that, /gif/ choked when it mattered. Their last hopes of reaching the knock-outs were crushed by /tg/, who with an absent manager and nothing to lose, left their sliders down to the hearty roll of their trusty d20. None of that mattered as they went ahead, and defended the lead. /gif/ sat bottom of the group and finished one above bottom in the final rankings.
/gif/ manager Belugah !!01/5L+XFF/L retired after the Summer Cup; despite their best efforts, /gif/ were unable to find a new manager before the 2014 4chan Autumn Babby Cup group draw. As a result of this, they could not sign up in time for Autumn. Before the end of the year, Golden_hue !!5rDXVksOLMi signed up to ensure /gif/'s return to a future cup.
2015 - Stuck in the babbies again
The year opened up with the 2015 4chan Winter Cup; /gif/ watched from the grave, as their spot in post-cup Rankings fell to the lowest spot, 60th, a result of the awful Summer 2014 performance and complete inactivity after said cup. The group draw for the Spring Babby Cup put /gif/ into Group G with newbie team /t/, >/m/, the supposedly mediocre /co/, and once-good /pol/. The first match against /pol/ seemed to be going the wrong way as /pol/ took a 2-1 lead throughout the second half after kickoff abuse and Jews scoring, but Sweet Reveal made a 90+ equalizer just in time to see /gif/'s first match in PES 15 end in a 2-2 draw.
/co/ had recently been bouncing back from their 5-1 loss to /m/ and kept up their good form against /gif/ in a 2-1 win. With 1 point out of two matches, /gif/ desperately needed wins, and got one against /m/. PES finally appeared to smile upon /gif/ after this because /m/ went back to their usual poor form and got a 2-2 draw against /pol/ in their last group match. Due to this result, /gif/ needed a strong win against /t/, but instead, /gif/ choked on all that sauce and could only get a draw that got /m/ through the group stage.
While they didn't make it to the Summer Cup this year, the team didn't look so bad in their first PES 2015 tournament. It seemed like with just a few improvements, /gif/ could qualify to the 2016 Winter Cup. In the 2015 Autumn Babby Cup's group stage draw, /gif/ looked like they were drawn in a decent group: /out/ was seen as one of the worst teams in the cup, along with /biz/ who were also in the same group. /x/ was having poor form since their promotion to the Summer Cup and the only clearly superior team in the group looked to be /fit/.
Initially, /gif/ started out strong with JAV scoring /gif/'s first goal of the cup against /x/. However, /x/ woke up soon and made a comeback to win 2-1. The next opponent was /fit/ and they slammed /gif/ in a 4-0 win that suddenly left /gif/ in bad shape. With 0 points and -5 goal difference, /gif/ needed to get two wins in their remaining matches to have a chance for some success. Instead, they lost again in their third group match against none other than /out/. This mathematically kept /gif/ in the Babbies after just 3 matches.
2016 - The nail in the coffin
Due to another change in the format of the babby cups, /gif/ now had to play in what some call the "Fetus Cup" - a qualifying round. This seemed to favor /gif/ as they got strong victories over the returning /fa/, and /adv/. They lost to /biz/, but the previous two victories were enough to get them into the 2016 Spring Babby Cup. Once there, they were drawn into a group with /m/, /h/, and /wg/. A 4-2 loss to /h/ left them feeling weak, but seemingly out of nowhere, /gif/ got an upset win over eventual Babby Cup winners /m/. From here on, things got...interesting, to say the least.
/gif/'s 2-2 draw against /wg/ that wrapped up Group E left both teams with the same points, goals for, goals against and even the same goal difference. A tiebreaking playoff was needed to determine who would get second place in the group, and who would get stuck in the babbies. /wg/ won said playoff, and qualified for the 2016 Summer Cup, but then weird events took place at the export deadline. /wg/ didn't put up an export on time, and /g/ never found a new manager after the previous babby cup. Everything seemed to be set for /gif/'s return to a major cup, but Golden_hue never posted an export, either. The previously mentioned playoff ended up being completely pointless. /adv/ and /a/ went to the 2016 Summer Cup, and the rest is history.
Golden_hue was suspended as a result of his actions, as he admitted his intentions not to post an export in the IRC. Due to Golden_hue's suspension and the lack of a new manager stepping up in time, /gif/ did not play in the 2016 Autumn Babby Cup. After the suspension ended just in time for the 2017 4chan Spring Babby Cup, Golden_hue never returned, and there was nobody else willing to manage /gif/. But then...
2018 - The return
Golden_hue returned! After two years, /gif/ were revived by the same man who once abandoned them, looking for redemption after the embarrassing events of 2016. /gif/'s first meaningful matches in two years were in the 2018 4chan Spring Babby Cup Qualifiers against /3/, /bant/, and /aco/. /gif/ lost both their first two matches (against /bant/ and /3/) 2-1 before destroying /aco/ 4-1 to promote to the Babby. In the Babby proper, /gif/ won their first two matches against /mu/ and /asp/ 1-0, before a 0-0 draw against /cm/ essentially promoted them (the promotion was made official the next match). /gif/'s next two matches did not go quite as well, with a 2-0 lead being blown to /m/ and an extra-time thriller lost to /t/ (both by 3-2 scorelines). Despite these losses, /gif/ played in their first Elite Cup in nearly four years a few months after.
That first Elite Cup was, well, something. First up was /toy/, a team that had once upon a time been a thorn in /gif/'s side. Now, though, /toy/ were totally unable to back up their management's shitposting as /gif/ defeated them 2-1. The second match was against /vg/, a team that had essentially lost twice in one day: once in their first match result, and again by way of having their gold suspended. Despite unsurprisingly dominating the match, /gif/ had to settle for a 1-1 draw thanks to an incredible performance by /vg/ goalkeeper JANNU. As a result of this match, /gif/ still had to fight for their survival on the final matchday. Luckily for them, it seemed, /vg/ won by a score of just 2-1 before their match, meaning that /gif/ could lose by one and still advance at the expense of /vg/. /k/ were the opponents and they opened fire before ten minutes had even passed. JAV equalized two minutes later and after 54 minutes the match seemingly stalled at 4-3. It looked like /gif/ would barely hold on to advance. Until, of course, the unthinkable happened. /k/ scored twice in three minutes to make their lead totally insurmountable. It didn't matter that Sauce scored the final goal of the match; his team lost 6-4 in a match only prevented from winning an Autie by the failures of a bigger team on the same day. /gif/ were relegated, and the team that advanced in their place went on to win the Summer Cup.
Golden_hue disappeared again before the 2018 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, resulting in /gif/ becoming an autopilot team. Completely unlike the previous cup, this version of /gif/ put entire audiences to sleep. It took seventy minutes and a penalty to score against fellow autopilot /cm/ in what eventually became a 1-1 draw. That penalty ended up as /gif/'s only goal of the entire cup, as a completely inept offense left them on the back foot against the group's two managed teams in /u/ and /his/. A 2-0 loss to /u/ was followed by a 0-0 draw to /his/ and /gif/ were quickly eliminated, leaving with only an Auties shoutout for being nearly unwatchable.
2019 - Abortion and autopilot
With a new manager in Ashton Kootcher !!yezDaCiuvaq, /gif/ found themselves back in the fetus after a year, desperately looking for answers. Unfortunately, answers were hard to come by. A very early lead against a /diy/ revived after over three years in stasis turned into a 3-1 deficit before 60 minutes had passed, with a /gif/ comeback attempt ultimately failing. Despite the loss, /gif/'s offense was much improved, but /o/ quickly stopped this new and improved attack in its tracks in a 1-0 loss and in just two matches, /gif/ became the second aborted fetus team. The last match of the fetus against /out/ crashed a minute in and featured not only an /out/ own goal but the birth of "CONTROLLER NO" after one of the streamer's controllers disconnected mid-match. This clusterfuck of a match ended 2-1 to /gif/ but the damage had already been done; the only consolation was that /gif/ would automatically qualify for the 2019 4chan Autumn Babby Cup.
Shortly before the Autumn Babby, it was revealed that Ashton Kootcher would be unable to properly manage /gif/ and they would be competing as an autopilot, a method that had seen many other teams enjoy recent success. In Autumn, they were drawn with the likes of /x/, /lit/, and /adv/, a group eerily similar to the Autumn 2012 group they also played on autopilot. /gif/'s first match, against /lit/, was a back-and-forth affair largely dominated by /gif/, but it ultimately ended in a 2-2 draw thanks to a nice 69th minute goal from a goose. /adv/ scored first against /gif/, but a first-half equalizer and three quick goals from /gif/ gave them a 4-1 lead and they would hold on to win 4-3. This meant that all /gif/ needed to do to see the Winter Cup was stall out an entire match against their final opponent, /x/. For almost all of the match, it looked like they very much would stall out /x/, and they even came close to scoring themselves and effectively guaranteeing a Winter Cup berth. But, in the end, /x/ won at the death with a cheeky 90+ goal and thanks to /lit/ having won the previous match, /gif/ were guaranteed nothing more than a spot in cup purgatory.
...if they even showed up to claim it. Since 2019 turned into 2020, /gif/ have been left dormant, not even being revived for the big 10th anniversary event that everyone else got revived for. This serves as a strong signal that they may never play another match.
