History

The thread began not as a general but as a spectacle. News broke of a little-known company called NEXAS planning to debut 27 vtubers for their first gen. Naturally, planning to debut more chuubas in three days than most corpos have in their entire company drew some attention. So, anons got to digging. Upon inspection of the NEXAS website, they found: totally authorized usage of MHA character art, the ex-CEO of PRISM (AKA Captain), a not!pyramid scheme diagram, and Gawl Gura. They also found that NEXAS planned to foster a competitive environment that rewards top performers. One anon commented, "What, like some kind of Battle Royale?". And so the thread got its name, /brg/ - Battle Royale General.

At this point, anticipation was at an all-time high. How, pray tell, am I to view the debut of these lucky contestants? ... The app hasn't left alpha yet? You're telling me that I have to apply through a Google Form to be sent a code, install TestFlight, then install this unfinished cryptominer/spyware? How about an Android version? No? And they're going to be streaming on only the app for the first month? These circumstances should have killed all discussion, and it probably would have if not for a few who installed the app and re-streamed the debuts to Twitch.

We were introduced to the app which looked and felt like a shoddy knock-off of REALITY or TikTok Live, complete with obnoxious animated gifts you could throw in front of the streamer. One gift in particular wormed its way into the fabric of /brg/: the burger. The discussion around the tributes' reaction to getting a burger (or lack thereof) along with the sheer name coincidence cemented burgers into the general's identity.

The debuts themselves were a roller coaster. Some were surprisingly good, some were abysmally scuffed, and Nell... didn't debut at all. After the debuts, a few more anons started up Twitch accounts to re-stream the following streams, which brings us to the thread as it is today. Nowadays, it's mostly anons watching streams along with the occasional serving of, "How will the corpo fuck up today?".

/vt/ League 7

Group Stage

The draw put /brg/ in Group E, and first two matches were the perfect opportunity to ease them into their debutante appearance. A close 2-1 win against another debutante,  /mint/ put them on the scoreboard and the next match against  /lia/ was a scorching 5-1 performance with FUCK YOU HARRY going on a 5-goal rampage, secured their spot in the Knockout Stage. Riding on a high of crushing the hopes of likers, their chance for first place in group was blocked by the powerhouse of  /hlgg/. An utterly shameful performance by #NOAHSWEEP saw them lose a record-setting game at 4-9, with the goalkeeper performing ONE, SINGULAR SAVE. While holos have exposed fatal flaws in their defense, /brg/ still moved on to Round of 24 with a small measure of hope, ending in third position at Group E.

Knockout Stage

In their first Knockout Stage appearance /brg/ were matched against  /pcgen3k/, another new team hoping to prove itself. Learning from the previous match, they have made sure #NOAHSWEEP is off the pitch and Edit War with the CEO was motivated to prevent another disaster. The match was a painful affair, with Kaleido Crossing pitch confusing viewers, players and refs alike. Alas, the overall performance of the team was found lacking, with the holes in defense abused by Sakana's "idols", multiple instances were passes landed at opponent's feet and the attackers having difficulties breaking through to the opponent's box. /pcgen3k/'s >JP has scored a baffling goal and only the hero performance by the WikiAnon prevented further humiliation. Unable to equalize, the match ended with a 0-1 loss, ending /brg/'s first divegrass run at Round of 24.

Wiki edit war with the CEO: You know the company is being management by an Elon-tier genius when he has a meltdown on Twitter over perceived mistakes in the Wiki page of his company. Aggressive keeper, will mess an attacker up if they don't respect him.

FUCK YOU HARRY: He is THE BOSS. The Black CEO. Man insane enough to stake the fate of his entire startup on the fate of another startup under even worse management. He will laugh at your jeers as he's thinking about his next steak dinner. No defender can come between him and the business trip into the opponent's net.

Dog eat dog world out there? And sometimes there's just nothing you can do about it.

Death of a Restreamer: We all know that Beebs is a person of great courage and integrity[citation needed]. What fewer people know, is that he is also a saviorfag. He was in the first batch of restreamers, who pointed their iPhones through the bars of AniLive jail and let us see the madness. He provided production value where streamers had no option to and that was the means of his downfall, as he decided to show the source material to Enaria's hentai watchalong stream. RIP beebs4ck, may he rig the heavenly games in our favor.

Nell...: This modern Odyssey starts when the Evil ISP has prevented Nell from debuting as scheduled... for months she has fought monstrosities of ISP customer service, she dug through the muck of a predebut vtweeter hell just to stay afloat... and she has prevailed. The fiber was connected, debut has come... it was the most beautiful moment of our lives. This player gains power the later the game goes and in the stoppage time, she becomes a hero.

Kiko's boyfriend-husband-dad-abuser: There is only one thing that can truly stand between a man and his oshi... and that's her boyfriend-husband-dad-abuser. Because of his presence, every rare stream of Kiko has become a treasured memory... even more after Kiko took a hiatus after breaking up with him. He taunts opponent players into unwise decisions.

Poettato: Look at it.

Silentman Hours: In the PST witching hours, this creature glared at us from our smartphone screen. It mocked us as we desperately refresh the page. He has been hidden from us, but still shows up when you least expect him.

Did she eat the burger?: The most important differentiator between a jobber and a player with potential - when they see that burger gift, what is the reaction? If they ignore it - DUMP; if they eat it - keep watching; if they go sicko mode on the borgor... that's a keeper! His performance depends on his opponents attitude towards the Holy Borgor.

Post the FUCKING PNGs: When the corpo fails to do the job, anon rises up to the occasion. This mad lad has created 27 pristine PNGs of NEXAS class 1 models at the cost of his sanity... only for NEXAS to finally post the high definition PNGs after he was done. To add insult to injury, he was denied access to the promised land of AniLive Android port. When that player is on the pitch, the opponent hears ghastly wails of agony and wrath.

turbogroomer: The border between a saviorfag and a groomer is razor thin. Opponent players intuitively try not to get close, lest they become a victim...

Don't you guys have phones?: This is the smug motherfucker with an iPhone telling you that his device is superior to your Android phone and 6k gaming PC setup combined, because it has ONE APPLICATION YOU CAN'T HAVE. Do not bite the bait.

Call of the Void: You open the AniLive application and see that Endra is streaming. You blink. Two hours has passed. Stream is over. You don't remember anything he said. You forgot how he even looked. You can barely remember your own name. You have just passed through the Void Zone.

Nugget for Gen 2: Coming into a stream completely unannounced and stealing the entire show. Sub when in dire straits.
