Any opinion on changing efficiency from [wins/games] to the NFL system of [(wins + ½draws)/games]? --MauledByTheTigers (talk) 20:00, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

:It's a simple enough change (if you can deal with whatever wiki code does the math). If somebody wants to make this change and not fuck up all the team boxes in the process, go for it. --Tottori (talk) 00:08, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
This is still a hot item. I urge patience and especially urge waiting to see how things are after we get a new Game Version / Yairpatch / Filerloader exe combo pack. Nevertheless, please let your opinions be known.

Will managers be able to veto/disregard a result in a team poll if we see it necessary? It shouldn't be fair if something from Monster High/Littlest Pet Shop general gets to be on the team and replace someone worthy when the majority of /co/ does not like or talk about such things. -- Mantis (talk) 22:19, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

:My experience with /a/ was that going by strictly the top most-requested players tended not to be so great because a very high percentage of them got kicked off in the next poll. Because of that I ended up moving towards a system where we (that being Firo and I) would pick new players out of the overall top 15 suggestions that we thought would have the best chance of sticking around.  I think doing something like that strikes a good balance, and allows you to avoid a situation like you say where you know /co/ would basically fire a new player at the first available opportunity. --Tottori (talk) 07:26, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

Big/Small/Dead teams
I would like a wikipage that has all of the settings for the cup we are running at the time. It would save everyone time, because managers and testers wouldn't have to ask and people in charge wouldn't have to answer. -- Skywelker (talk) 22:35, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
Got issues with the current 4CCC policy for teams of whatever category? Let it be known.

:I like it. Unfortunately at the moment this is still somewhat up in the air. (They're likely going to be Decision-ish, but exactly how Decision-ish is not settled yet.) That doesn't necessarily stop us from making the page now and filling it in later. --Tottori (talk) 07:26, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

Rules
I would like to table a motion to have Pybro kicked squarely in the nuts. He continually spams /t/ with his worthless threads. The threads do nothing for our board and generally get deleted within a day by the Mods but not before pushing another thread off the board. Please fine, penalize, flag or otherwise reprimand the fa..Manager if at all possible.
Got issues for how we're handling deadlines, double managing, the new rules for switching teams, or anything else? Say so here.

:I feel like managers need to be put in contracts of some sort, or at least give a heads up if they are going to quit in the future, like a good months notice or at least 3 if its during a dead season. If no one picks up the team during that time it should be dead until another one takes over, not another waiting period. This will let us move teams with fan bases and heart to take over teams that are really just mercenary teams/managers. It should also stop teams being dead or without a manager after a bad cup run or game. --SleepDeprivedAnon (talk) 22:35, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
:Memo to Pybro: you're supposed to engage your board, not harass it. I do not have a problem with adding DED to the sleepy/not-sleepy scale for boards that are not going to be considered for new team expansion if you can't cool your autism. If you're going to introduce the Cup to a new board, you probably ought to know it well enough to avoid situations like this. --Tottori (talk) 07:26, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
::The problem with this is without money or some other leverage involved, we can't really force managers not to just disappear spur of the moment. Realistically what happens is we only know there's a team with no caretaker after the manager quits. At that point, what can you do? Basically what we have been doing: Give notice that the team needs somebody in charge for a realistic amount of time, prevent them from entering a cup unless somebody new steps up, and put them in a coma after a certain point if nobody can be bothered. If I missed your point feel free to elaborate further though, thanks. --DrBorisG (talk) 16:04, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Idea for qualifiers
Question: tell me what you think about me. I buy my own diamonds and I buy my own rings. Jokes aside is /hm/ considered 'sleepy'? We had a our last team poll before spring and we are releasing a survey to /hm/ around noon today and I plan on closing it on Monday. It currently has 7 votes with one telling /hm/ to kill ourselves. Thanks for reading.--Jynx (talk) 10:09, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

:Let's consider this: Team 1-8 are qualifier teams, Team A-H are relegated babbies. 1, 2 and A are dead teams, and 3, 4 and B are teams with inactive managers. The idea is to have obligatory signups for the qualifiers, but only for the teams who failed to qualify last time. A sign up would be the team manager say the team wants to participate in the Qualifier talk page.
:Since only the manager can sign up the team, this would mean Teams 1, 2, 3, 4 and A wouldn't participate, assuming teams 5-8 don't forget to sign up (B would participate because it's unfair for a team with a manager to go from Babby to dead, even if the manager isn't active).
:This would:
*Easily let us see which teams are dead.
*In addition, warn us of teams with inactive managers, and alerts the team that they may need a new manager.
*Remove teams with no interest from circulation altogether, at least until they get a manager.

:Problem 1: There's the chance that there's less than 8 teams signed up (counting the babbies) for the qualifiers, even if unlikely
:Possible Solution: Put all the signed up teams in the Babbies automatically. Either do a small qualification round for the teams with inactive managers or select the highest ranked teams.

:This is only a rough idea but I'd like to hear Boris' opinion on it. Powdinet (talk) 11:04, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

Individual managers
Is somebody being a problem child? Let's discuss what to do about them. Bluntly, this section is not for being AB/whoever/, you need to be offering actual evidence of some sort.

Anything Else
If you have any other issues please make a catagory and post them here.

:Boris talks about managers too much on air. (M3owmix, assuming that was him culling his own anon post.)
::Yes, I agree, I've been working on that for a while, sorry if it's still a little too invasive. It's like using 'nil' for me, difficult to correct. --DrBorisG (talk) 23:17, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

Any opinion on changing efficiency from [wins/games] to the NFL system of [(wins + ½draws)/games]? --MauledByTheTigers (talk) 20:00, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

It's a simple enough change (if you can deal with whatever wiki code does the math). If somebody wants to make this change and not fuck up all the team boxes in the process, go for it. --Tottori (talk) 00:08, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

My experience with /a/ was that going by strictly the top most-requested players tended not to be so great because a very high percentage of them got kicked off in the next poll.

I like it.
