Team History
The Failed First Founding & Other Minor Events
The 9th of December of 2016, the first recorded effort to make a /vip/ team started. However, the discussion thread made by Carbuncle, did more against the prospect of a future /vip/ team than anything. The thread in question is a perfect display of what a manager shouldn't do. The lack of common sense shown by the manager made his >polls and the thread a perfect target for trolls coming from /4ccg/ and /admin/ members who were rightfully pissed off at the whole thing. It also didn't help that the board was born 2 months before and that it had zero culture. The official /vip/ wiki page was locked indefinately the day after the thread was made. 20 days later, the manager lost his shit so hard that he quit, leaving the team on the hands of a team supporter and starting to post random shit about his life and pony porn. As a wise anon said at the end of the thread, >If I kill myself, will this nightmare go away? How did /vip/ let this happen?

The 3rd of October 2017, Incoming made a meme team composed of edited captcha images for invitationals. Despite him making a tactical export, the aesthetics were never made and he left the project unfinished. At least, he offered the wiki, his ideas and the tactical export to anyone willing to make a /vip/ team either seriously or for >fun. The 18th of August 2018, someone made a thread on /vip/ suggesting a possible entry on the 4CC. However, the thread gathered almost no attention whatsoever and the intentions from one of the posters made the thread's death look like the best possible outcome. In 2019, an anon apparently tried to come up with a /vip/ team of his own but was unable to think of a roster for it.
The "Redemption" Attempt
The 18th of August 2021, the Eternal /vip/ 4CC Thread was created. Due to a lack of interest and the /vip/ janny waking up from his sleep and deleting the thread, the board didn't put any input into a future team. However, the poster behind the thread, Cancermania, decided to keep coming up with ideas for a possible invitational team that would resemble in some way what /vip/ had to offer, even if it was on an unofficial level. After months of aesthetic making and tactical autism, the team made it's debut in the Banned Bowl '21, where the team faced other banned boards like the recently formed 
/trash/, a dying 
/qa/, and >
/j/. The team managed to dominate group stage, performing a clean sweep and getting into the finals, where /j/ got its revenge and won 2-0. Nevertheless, a second place exceeded the initial expectations management had and efforts were made to take part in a friendly against 
/biz/ at the end of April 2022.
The following month, just after the end of the 2022 4chan Spring Babby Cup, the team took part in a sixteen team tournament for new and struggling managers, Super Akko League III Turbo HYPER INT Edition. In group stage, the team managed to win their first match against 
/vst/ and draw their next three matches, which guaranteed them a spot in the second round of playoffs. After making a new export and a win against 
/aoba/, the team made it to the knockouts, where they got a second win against /vst/ in quarterfinals but lost to eventual winners 
/pol/ in the semifinals. Finally, a third place match win against 
/captsuba/ would make the team finish in 3rd among the best teams of the tournament.
In the end of September, the team would lose in a friendly against 
/bant/. One month later, the team would take part in Banned Bowl '22, where they succesfully defeated /qa/ and >
/vmg/ on group stage. In the semifinals, however, the team would lose after >11 rounds of penalties to /trash/, forcing them to settle for third after a meme rematch against /qa/.
Finally, after one and a half years of effort to make the team's reputation better through friendlies and memevitationals, and attempts to gather support through multiple failed threads since the start of the team, the manager of the unofficial /vip/ team would once again make another thread in early 2023 to gather POI for the 2023 4chan Spring Babby Cup. This time around, he tried to poll the pass users for suggestions and approval through a site that would allow him to prevent multiple votes from the same IPs. He also thought of a way to verify the legitimacy of the votes by asking the voters to post on the previously mentioned thread immediately after voting. After a few days, the poll and thread managed to gather 4 valid IPs, which prompted the manager to share the results with /admin/.
However, /admin/'s reaction to the poll and the thread were negative, and after a back and forth between the manager and them, in which the manager acted in a poor manner, the manager initially yielded and decided to follow /admin/'s advice and standards with the intention of fixing the mistakes he had made. However, he soon realized after the discussion he had with /admin/ that everything he was trying to do was an error.
Proposing the roster, aesthetics and music of the unofficial team as an option to the voters made the team look like a Manager FC or a personal project rather than a genuine attempt to create something through the board. Trying to define what the board's culture was on his own and refusing to admit that it needed to progress further in order to become something worth of cup representation. Failing to convince the voters and posters to give well thought suggestions and create a solid team identity. And finally, being unable to recognize that his ambitions to redeem /vip/ for what had been done to it years prior was, ultimately, making him act irrationally while potentially dragging /vip/ back to where it once was.
Due to this realization, he apologized to /admin/ for his behavior and actions, asked for /vip/ to not be affected by the actions that happened during that day, and finally, announced to them that he was stepping away to prevent more damage from being made. Not long after, he made it official by announcing it on /vip/ through a poorly worded post that he tried to correct later that day. Once again, /vip/ was left alone, and after the two friendlies the manager booked with 
/wsg/ and 
/s4s/ prior to the whole POI fiasco and his resignation were played, the unofficial team would also be left to rest. Hopefully, if /vip/'s culture ever becomes worthy of being represented in the 4CC, someone will give it the opportunity it deserves as a part of 4chan. However, until that day comes, this could potentially be the end for any aspirations it has of ever being represented.
