The 2016 4chan Spring Babby Cup will be the nineteenth official 4chan Cup tournament and the fifth iteration of the Spring Babby Cup series. It will be played on May 6th–8th, May 13th–15th, and May 21st–22nd, 2016. The tournament will feature a mixture of teams that will have been relegated from the 2016 4chan Winter Cup, teams that failed to qualify from the 2015 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, and teams that advanced from the 2016 4chan Spring Babby Cup Qualifiers.

After winning the previous Babby Cup, the board of /out/ will be the host of this tournament.

Competitors

Thirty-two teams will compete in this tournament, sixteen of which will qualify by means of relegation from the 2016 4chan Winter Cup, and another sixteen by failing to advance from the 2015 4chan Autumn Babby Cup.

This will be the debut Spring Babby Cup for /wg/ and the debut Cup for /his/ and /p/.

Pots

Teams will be placed in four different pots based on seeding. Seeding is determined by:

1. Finishing position of teams relegated from the 2016 4chan Winter Cup in that tournament
2. Finishing position of teams failing to advance from the 2015 4chan Autumn Babby Cup in that tournament
3. Teams that advanced from the 2016 4chan Spring Babby Cup Qualifiers

All of the highest-seeded competitors (the top eight relegated from Winter) will be placed in Pot 1, the next-highest in Pot 2, and so on until all four pots contain eight teams.
