Round of 16

/an/ v /ck/

Recap: Our first match in the Round of 16 is a very even one as /an/ took on /ck/ today. /an/ set the tempo early /an/ would employ the long ball all game. Outdoor Cat would get an early goal off a deflected clearance to score an easy tap in past >tipping to make it 1-0 at 3 minutes. Canadian Goose would double /an/’s lead in almost as many minutes as Take it to the Vet found a open Canadian Goose who slotted it in the bottom right corner to make it 2-0. it would take the 29th minute for /ck/ to respond as Cock Sauce would get it past Erebus to make it 2-1 into half time. /an/’s long ball attack was relentless as Take it to the Vet found Canadian Goose again as he let loose a fine finish to regain /an/’s 2 goal lead. /ck/ would retry their comeback when PHS dispossessed Outdoor Cat, finding Nachos who got past 2 defenders to score to make it 3-2. /an/ would respond in kind with the help of some questionable keeping from >tipping as the /ck/ keeper went out to collect a ball that in hindsight he was never going to get and Take It to the Vet simply curled it past the keeper into a open net to make it 4-2. /ck/ would try one more time to create a comeback as Perfect Coffe played a perfect ball to Nachos who fired it into the net in the 89th minute to give /ck/ a chance. Unfortunately it was not meant to be as /an/ would win and would face the winner of /u/ vs /d/.

/u/ v /d/

Pure vs deviants would be the next match up as /u/ are looking to continue their streak of consecutive quarterfinal appearances. /d/ would start the scoring Dmitrys scored a blootah outside the box. After spending 15 minutes unfucking their tactics due to a fucked up export, /u/ would get back into the game as Feito-chan would find Homucifer who tapped it in past the keeper to make it 1-1. /u/ would continue to press their attack as Akarrin would find Homucifer who slotted it into the corner to make it 2-1 going into halftime. Dmitrys would tie the game with some fine play on the edge of the box before smacking it home to make it 2-2. /u/ would respond immediately with a Feito-chan goal. /d/ would not find an equalizer as the game would end 3-2.

"We were underdogs coming in, and though we lost I felt that we gave /u/ a run for their money. It could have easily gone our way, but we just didn't have the luck. We wish /u/ best of luck, but look foward to exacting revenge in Summer." - /d/ manager DrDtroit

/mu/ v /f/

Two favorites to win the cup face off early in this Round of 16 match up. /mu/ started the scoring early with some bad defending from /f/ that allowed Mangum to score a blooter. /mu/ would double their lead before the half as Mangum would find Gira who would fight off the /f/ defender to make it 2-0. /f/ would finally respond before the hour mark when Da hood would send Lolicatgirls a bullet pass as he would slot it home to get /f/ on the scoresheet. /f/ would score 3 minutes later when Daily Dose gave us our medicine with a cool finish that only a Namekian can provide. The game would need to go into extra time when a Vapourwave goal would send /f/ out of the cup with a final score of 3-2.

“I thought we were lucky to scrape by. I didn't really like how we played so I'm gonna have to go somewhat all-out on autism if we have a chance to go far tomorrow.” - /mu/ manager Feedback

“Whenever we play /mu/ they're always a solid team. I'm just happy it wound up being as tense of a match it was and not a one sided spaghetti fest. It went down to the wire of it all and in the end they pulled out ahead deservedly so there is always next season” - /f/ manager Old Man Sou
