/vg/ League 3
Founded by That FreddyGuy in October 2014, /5N@F/ managed to enter its first /vg/ League despite signing up late due to several of the other teams being no-shows.
/5N@F/'s climb started difficult was drawn into Group A with /drg/, /nepgen/, and /vg/ League 2 champions /dng/, with their first match against /nepgen/. Unfortunately, due to an error with the save and the manager unable to be present in order to correct it, /5N@F/ suffered its first loss 3-1, with Birdie Breasts scoring her one goal of the tournament. In the next match, however, the team's luck began to change, as having the correct tactics and positioning in play allowed /5N@F/ to eke out a draw against /drg/ 1-1. The Fazbearians finally punched their ticket for success as they managed to defeat the former champions /dng/ 3-1 with a Mike Schmidt hat trick, barely managing to secure their spot as one of the four Third Place teams to advance to the knockouts.
The knockouts would prove no less challenging for /5N@F/ as they were drawn together with /acg/, the Runner-Ups of the first /vg/ League and second-best performing team in the Group Stages. However the team managed to score a single goal to secure their way into the Quarter-Finals with a 1-0 victory. Their match in the QFs against /igg/ would turn out to be one of the most exciting matches of the knockouts, as a 1-1 draw took the two teams to the only penalty shoot-outs of the tourney. Things looked bleak as All Business missed his shot, but thanks to a blunder by /igg/'s Time Bear, the penalties went to sudden death, where eventually /igg/'s Tellurium and Russian Loli failed to score and resulting in a /5N@F/ victory after penalties 6-5.
The Semi-Finals found /5N@F/ against /vg/ League veteran /twg/, who they gave a resounding defeat with two goals in extra time, one at 45+' and the other at 90+', sealing underdog /5N@F/'s entry into the finals 2-0. Their final opponent would prove to be their most challenging yet: /wtg/, the best-performing team of the Group Stage, a team that had been decimating nearly every opponent they came across, most surprisingly with no manager and using only the default tactics of All-Out Attack. However, while That FreddyGuy was present to manage, /5N@F/ had similarly been climbing the brackets using their own default tactics of Quick Counter, resulting in a final match between two default PES tactics-using teams. Things remained tense the first half as both teams managed to score goals early; however, a brace by captain Mike Schmidt at the end of the first half and the beginning of the second half managed to secure /5N@F/'s eventual victory, /wtg/ only managing to claim one more goal at 85' and resulting in a final score of 3-2 and /5N@F/ becoming the /vg/ League 3 champions.
Schmidtgate
After /vg/ League 3 ended, controversy eventually arose as rumors arose that despite /5N@F/'s claim of First Place, they would not be getting a representative on the /vg/ roster. This was later confirmed true as /vg/ managers DeMessi !!U+s2S3/fT0g and Diplo !!CnQWNqsHWdN returned from an extended break and announced as such, due to multiple given reasons including /5N@F/ being considered too new a general and allegations that team founder That FreddyGuy was not only a merc that had jumped teams from his earlier managing post at /dsg/ due to disinterest from the general, but was supposed to have been told in advance that /5N@F/ wouldn't be getting a spot on the roster regardless of their eventual standing.
This, however, caused a firestorm of shitposting and drama to erupt in /4ccg/, as everyone became heavily divided on whether they supported the /vg/ management's decisions or whether they supported /5N@F/. As arguments and opinions grew hotter, the /vg/ League Council met to discuss the issue, before finally a compromise came to pass that Mike Schmidt would appear on /vg/'s roster after all, but he would be relegated to the bench as an LMF rather than as the Captain of /vg/, that honor being bestowed upon runner-ups /wtg/'s >arcade instead. Despite this, and despite the following two performances of /vg/'s in the 2015 4chan Winter Cup and 2015 4chan Spring Babby Cup being some of the worst in their history, Mike Schmidt managed to see plenty of action, grabbing the assist on both of /vg/'s only two goals in Winter and one additional assist in Spring.
/vg/ League 4
Under the new management of QD !!ztCBdAQrY7S, /5N@F/ was given full endorsement to play and were promised that, should they win, they would not be denied any rewards as they once had. As such, the Fazbearians look to establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with again, hosting the /vg/ League 4 as champions of the previous League. They were placed, as is customary, within Group A, drawn against /d2g/, /csgog/, and /wotg/.
/5N@F/'s first match against /d2g/ started rocky as /d2g/ managed to score first blood with a goal by captain Icefraud at the tail-end of the first half. However, the team managed to find more chances in the second half and secured victory with two goals by All Business, both assisted by Mike Schmidt, ending their first game 2-1 and breaking the unofficial curse of the previous /vg/ League's champion being unable to win their first game in the next League. /5N@F/'s second match against auto-pilot team /csgog/ would prove to be less fruitful than their first, however. Despite several attempts at shots and effectively keeping /csgog/ from scoring, the match would end in a 0-0 draw.
With the group standings requiring either a win or draw with /wotg/, the final game of Group A began with /wotg/ vs. /5N@F/. /5N@F/ started strong, two goals being scored by Pizza Chicken and All Business in the first half, and while /wotg/ put up a valiant and strong effort, they could only manage one goal at 85', resulting in a 2-1 win for /5N@F/ and sending both them and /csgog/ through to the knockouts, retaining their Elite status.
The knockout draws would find /5N@F/ against /xcg/, who had previously faced off in an invitational that ended in penalties and an /xcg/ win. History would repeat itself, however, as after a very close and tense match extending into extra time, the two teams would draw at 2-2 and send them both back to Benuldy's. An early miss by All Business would end up costing /5N@F/ dearly as /xcg/ managed to make each of their shots, and the match ending with Uh, Hello Hello? missing his kick as well, giving /xcg/ the win and advancement, keeping /5N@F/ from reaching the Quarter-Finals and ending their VGL4 run.
/vg/ League 5
/5N@F/ returned for /vg/ League 5, confident from their previous successful VGL runs and ready to unleash the onslaught of security guards and robots upon the pitch once again. This time /5N@F/ would find itself not drawn into Group A, where it had been placed in both previous /vg/ Leagues, and instead found itself in Group G with /mk8g/, /lisg/, and once more with /wotg/.
/5N@F/'s first match would be against the autopilot team of /mk8g/. /5N@F/ came out of the gate strong as Dangle scored an early goal from outside the box, followed quickly 8 minutes later with a goal by All Business assisted by Mike Schmidt. /mk8g/'s silver-medal SS Silver Six would soon after score his team's first goal at 32', eliciting cries of "most dangerous lead" from the commentators and crowd. However, not only would All Business disprove the occurrence of most dangerous lead by scoring a brace before the end of the first half, followed by a hat trick goal soon after kick-off for the second half, putting the score at 4-1 at 50 minutes. Three more goals would be scored in the match by the end, with a goal by Elite Four at 81 minutes, followed by an immediate answer by All Business with his fourth goal of the match, and finishing with a final Elite Four goal at 90+' to finish the game with a /5N@F/ victory over /mk8g/ 5-3.
The next match would be a rematch from VGL4, setting /5N@F/ to face off once again against /wotg/. Unlike last time, however, /wotg/ drew first blood with a goal from Captain SerB early on at 19'. /5N@F/ managed to find an answer with another goal by Dangle just before the end of the first half in extra time, equalizing the score for half time. Unfortunately, /wotg/'s tanks unleashed a barrage upon the robots during the second half, barely managing to defend against their assault until SiemaPL broke through and scored a second for /wotg/ at 67'. By the end of the second half it would have seemed that the match would end as a reversal of the VGL4 match with a 2-1 scoreline, but SerB managed to find a cheeky third goal at 90+', setting it as /5N@F/'s first true loss since their very first match against /nepgen/.
/5N@F/'s final match of the VGL5 Group Stage was against /lisg/, a last-minute autopilot team addition to the list of participating teams due to /d2g/ failing to submit an export. At 19', Mike Schmidt finally managed to pull off a successful goal this league, putting the score early at 1-0. /lisg/ would attempt to break through the /5N@F/ defense throughout the rest of the first half, but would not be nearly as successful as /wotg/ had been. However, in the second half, /lisg/ would manage to find a cheeky equalizer with a PRICEFIELD CUTEPOSTING goal at 52'. Neither side would be able to find another successful shot after this, leaving the match results at a 1-1 draw, which would give /5N@F/ 4 points total, barely enough to squeak by into the knockouts, much like they had during VGL3.
Making the knockout round for the third consistent time would place /5N@F/ alongside /igg/ and /ssbg/ as 3-time Elites of the VGL, a celebration-worthy achievement on its own. However, unfortunately, despite this, /5N@F/ would be unable to advance beyond the round of 16 once more as it was drawn with /ffg/. The match was far from impressive on /5N@F/'s part, with spaghetti and poor decisions reigning as /ffg/ took advantage and manages to score 2 goals in the first half. /5N@F/ would never manage to find an answer, only getting one off-target shot the entire game, and /5N@F/ would lose 2-0 and be eliminated from the VGL5 at 15th place in the rankings.
/vg/ League 6
/vg/ League 6 would not be as kind for /5N@F/ as they made their 4th consecutive appearance in VGL. For the third time in its life, /5N@F/ would find themselves drawn into Group A, this time with /rsg/ and /mhg/, as well as with /ffg/, winners of VGL5 and the team that eliminated /5N@F/ in the Round of 16 of that league.
The first match of the first day would feature /5N@F/ facing off against /ffg/, where /5N@F/ managed to maintain possession and keep a solid defense against /ffg/'s strikers throughout. Unfortunately the /5N@F/ offense was anemic and clumsy, choking several shots and unable to finish properly, leaving them with no goals. The /ffg/ offense was shut out with one exception, a lucky lob to Doctor Jewgle at the 59th minute, which would manage to give /ffg/ the win 0-1.
/5N@F/'s second match would see them against /rsg/, a more aggressively-focused team than the last that was coming off a 3-0 victory over /mhg/. /rsg/'s striker Thok was able to sink an early goal at 8', but the /5N@F/ defense was able to keep /rsg/'s offense from scoring any more for the rest of the game. Meanwhile /5N@F/'s offense again found themselves to be rather toothless, unable to get any successful shots on /rsg/. Fortunately, at 81', Mike Schmidt was finally able to land a shot into the /rsg/ net, which would lead to the match ending in a 1-1 draw.
/5N@F/'s prospects for advancement, which would allow them to keep their /vg/ League Elite status, were looking grim at this point. With a 6-4-1-0 group and /5N@F/ being the 1-point team, they needed to both win their last match with /mhg/ and hope that /ffg/ would be able to beat /rsg/ by enough to lower their GD below /5N@F/'s. /5N@F/-/mhg/ kicked off as the first match of the fifth day, with /mhg/ getting first blood as Gotcha Bitch scored at the 27th minute. /mhg/ managed to follow up in the second half with a goal by Blacklisted at 54' to make the scoreline 0-2. /5N@F/'s management at this moment, in a desperate bid to find any goal possible, would switch themselves over to faith in longball luck, wherein they were rewarded as All Business managed to score a goal at 58'. Both teams would continue fighting until Mike Schmidt managed to equalize the score with a goal at 86'. Unfortunately, /5N@F/ would not be able to find the miracle third goal that would have given them the win, leaving the game ending on a 2-2 draw and only leaving /5N@F/ with 2 points in the group standings.
This result would sadly leave /5N@F/ out of the /vg/ League knockouts for the first time in its entire history, removing their Elite status as well as keeping Mike Schmidt from being given the spot on the /vg/ roster he had retained since VGL3.
/vg/ League 7
/vg/ League 7 seemed like it might be rocky for /5N@F/ from the start as they were drawn once again into Group A, this time with /twg/, the reigning champions of VGL6, as well as /aog/ and /hanny/, two newer and popular teams.
/5N@F/'s first match, and the first match of the cup, was against /twg/, who they had played once before in VGL3, winning against them 2-0. Mike Schmidt would earn an early goal at 20', but /twg/'s Napoopan would answer 11 minutes later. BAWN BAWN managed to sink a shot at 64', and that goal would've allowed /5N@F/ the win had ROME HAS CONQUERED not put in an equalizer at 90', leaving the match ending on a 2-2 draw.
The second match was against /hanny/, fan favorites for their earlier entertaining performances in VGL6 and the VGL7 Qualifiers. TOSH would open the match quick with a goal at 6', but /5N@F/ would answer with three in unanswered succession: I'm In Love With a Chicken at 21', Mike Schmidt at 38', and All Business at 43', giving /5N@F/ a 3-1 lead at the end of the first half. However /hanny/ wouldn't take much time to find a second and third of their own, with Kay-chan putting in both at 51' and 63'. No more goals could be made in the remaining 25 minutes, resulting in /5N@F/'s fourth draw in a row with a 3-3 result.
The third match was crucial for /5N@F/, as anything less than a win against /aog/ would put them out. Things started shaky, but then All Business would find a goal at 31', followed by Mike Schmidt at 35'. In the second half, BAWN BAWN would manage to indirectly put in a third goal, using the /aog/ player FEEN's head to ricochet the ball into the net. I'm In Love With a Chicken would put in a fourth at 64', but a swift goal by Asspulls at 65' would prevent /5N@F/ from attaining a clean sheet. The match ended 1-4 in favor of /5N@F/, sending them back to the Round of 16 after a single league absence, as well as placing /5N@F/ at the top of Group A with 5 points and a GD of 3.
As /5N@F/ topped Group A, they were seeded automatically at the top of the Round of 16 bracket. The draw would place /rlg/ as their opponent, which would be the opening match of the knockouts weekend. 4 minutes into the start of the match, Eggs Benedict, a non-medal DMF, would somehow plant the first goal into /rlg/'s net, with a follow-up by Mike Schmidt at 13'. Things looked dicey following those goals, however, as /rlg/ managed to find 3 goals in the first half: MuMoHammad Ali at 28', Sigmund at 33', and Serpent of Chaos at 40', /5N@F/ losing their 2-0 lead within 12 minutes. Thankfully, BAWN BAWN was able to find an equalizer at 42' before the end of the first half.
The second half would be somewhat bizarre yet favorable for /5N@F/ as they managed to put in 5 total goals throughout: 2 more from BAWN BAWN at 50' and 60' for a hat trick, All Business at 55' and 77' for a brace, and a final goal by I'm In Love With a Chicken at 82', resulting in the final score of 8-3, /5N@F/'s biggest win ever, and them being sent to the Quarterfinals for the first time since VGL3.
The QFs would find /5N@F/ up against /twg/ once again, two star-bearers fighting to move on to the semis to try and get their second. The game would start relatively early with a brace by All Business, goals at 16' and 22'. Action would more or less cease for around 50 minutes of play until Mike Schmidt would find a third at 74'. A goal by Napoopan at 83' would put them on the score board, but it wouldn't be enough and the game would end 3-1, putting /5N@F/ through to the Semifinals.
There they would find /ddg/, a solid team fresh off of a 5-2 victory over /drg/. They would be by far /5N@F/'s biggest challenge yet, their offensive pressuring unending and their defensive capabilities holding strong throughout the game. Grigori would find the first goal at 12', but All Business would find an equalizer at 25'. Rook would put /ddg/ up 2-1 at 37', but BAWN BAWN would manage to find another equalizer at 58'. Neither team could find that one goal to put them up before the end of the game, sending the game into extra time.
The incredibly tense play would continue for another 25 minutes, when a foul occurred against /5N@F/ in the middle of their half of the pitch. The goalkeeper for the match, Variable Scent Release, would take the free kick, aiming it at the nearest player. However, in a massive unprecedented blunder, this pass went directly into the path of /ddg/'s striker Grigori, who immediately blooted the ball across the entire half of the pitch and into an empty net for an unbelievably shocking goal at 115', which would end up be the dagger that killed /5N@F/'s run as the game ended 2-3.
Reaching the semifinals however meant that /5N@F/ was not finished playing, as they were sent to play in the Third Place Match against /hsg/. /hsg/ would find themselves able to halt any attempt by /5N@F/'s offense, and their careful and patient passing game, unlike any that /5N@F/ had faced all cup, allowed them to get around the defense and score two, WIIIIIINDS! at 9' and Barnes at 68'. In a fit of desperation, longball was attempted after the second goal of /hsg/'s, which only helped marginally by letting Mike Schmidt get the final goal of /5N@F/'s for VGL7 at 90+1', ending the game at 1-2 for /hsg/, granting them the Third Place trophy and putting /5N@F/ at fourth place.
It was at this point that QD !!ztCBdAQrY7S, after managing the team for 4 Leagues and for over a year and a half, would retire from being the /5N@F/ manager, having at least been able to get the team to the semifinals one more time, but not to the coveted second star. The future of Five Nights at Freddy's General's /vg/ League team is uncertain, but at the very least it was a roller coaster of a ride filled with memes and salt.
