Capitalization of 'Cup'

I would like to know if, and if yes, when, 'cup' should be capitalized in this wiki, as I have found inconsistent capitalization in many articles. I currently usually capitalize it in these cases (which are almost all):

  • Expansion of an (official) abbreviation, i.e. 'The 4chan Cup' for 'The 4CC'
  • When describing an official tournament, i.e. 'The 2015 4chan Summer Cup' or 'The previous Cup'
  • When referring to the tournament/establishment as a whole, i.e. 'The Cup consists of four official competitions ('Cups') per year'

I would probably not capitalize it when describing an unofficial tournament, i.e. 'The tag team cup'.

Also someone please tell me whether to use single quotation marks > double quotation marks (like above) or double quotation marks > single quotation marks -- MerkaST (talk) 11:57, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

Cup should always be capitalized when referring to the official Cups, yes (there may be very specific instances where capitalization should be avoided, but I can't think of any right now). Unofficial ones can do whatever the fuck they want, I suppose. Double quotation marks always (apart from internal quotes), as per the Chicago Manual of Style. --Autocrat (talk) 18:11, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
