One might be surprised at the crossover between historians and people who just wanna shoot, stab and generally blow stuff up innawoods. But consider, for a moment, the common ground:
The simple and unassuming cannon changed sieges, war, and the very fabric of history as we know it - from rattling defenders at Constantinople (rip) to shredding the Krauts at Breitenfield with canister shot to pummeling the battlefields of the First World War.
Genghis Khan's soldiers used recurve bows that were lighter, easier to shoot, and more powerful than the English longbow, capable of being fired while riding a horse - in the other direction. They created the largest empire the world had ever seen in just 20 years.
The Bronze Age Collapse was caused, among other reasons, by the spread of iron metallurgy and new military tactics. That's a cool chariot army, King whoever-the-shit you are - now taste my cast iron spears and longswords.

I mean, the entirety of 20th-century history was shaped by two countries with very large bombs.
