It was one day, as a man with a grand sombrero of melted cheese trudged through the searing North American wilderness, that a mirage appeared before his eyes. None alive now know if it was merely the heat of the midday desert sun, or the dwindling bottles of tequila hooked to his belt. But as the man was urged on by a buffering vision of a German in a winter hat, he would soon find himself at the foot of a grand stadium.

With his stomach nearly empty and his life fading, he came to in a locker room lined end to end with culinary delights. Though the players assembled were clueless as to why a seemingly random immigrant had found their way into the team lunch, it so happened that they were currently in the market for an eleventh player.  
This is the phrase that was hastily added onto SANIC in 2010 when he was nothing more than an MS Paint Abomination. The /v/irgins of /v/ became quite fond of this strangely-illustrated hegehog despite the source material he is based off of. With his newfound popularity, SANIC raced his way onto the /v/ roster in 2012. The speedy, nonmedal midfielder was not used to the limitations of the pitch as he struggled to participate on offense, but he finally found his footing and scored his first goal in the 2013 Winter Cup off a Reggie assist. From there, he was able to outpace some of his teammates to become a silver player in the 2013 Summer Cup, a gold player in the 2015 Spring Babby Cup, and eventually captain of the club.


They were not prepared for this man to lead them nearly to great victory, nor for him to outscore everyone else. Or for the fans to constantly demand back his food-tipped hat, so they could celebrate to the ciocarlian fanfares that accompanied his goals. Nor did they expect this man to lead them through their highs and lows, to [[Curses#Curse of Third Place|break the most eldritch of curses]], or stay as long as he did.  
Now as captain, SANIC uses that phrase to rally /v/ to new heights that they have never achieved before. Under his leadership, /v/ became champions for the first time ever in the 2022 Summer Cup and almost won a second star in the 2025 Winter Cup. In terms of personal accolades, SANIC holds the title of Quickest Double Brace (20'), Highest Match Rating* (9.0) and is the recipient of the Lionel Messie Memoriam Award in the 2022 Winter Cup. SANIC has proven himself to be one of the deadliest strikers in 4chan cup history as he is in 7th place for All Time Goalscorers (121), 2nd place* for Most Hat Tricks (10), and 8th place for Most Man of the Match Awards.


A moment of silence, Cup fans, for '''Nachos''', one of the old greats. Though mysterious circumstances involving {{tt|Mexican weed|Thanks Sou}} took him away from us all too soon, may his memory serve as a reminder that in the Cup, players need not to be born great, if they can be made great.
