Server maintenance/downtime still planned during the offseason pending f4r getting some time to actually do it.

History
Inception and VGL 18
As yet another gacha game that became popular on /vg/, some would say it was only a matter of time before /bag/ got its own team. They were right - before VGL 18, the then-newest edition of the event, had even started, /bag/ got its own team, immediately garnering the attention and expectations of many as they participated in the VGL Ladies' Night, on late March 2022. Grouped together with /alg/, /llsifg/, and /hgg2d/, the team put up an impressive first showing before falling just short against /hgg2d/ and later /vrg/ in the playoffs. Nevertheless, the team's debut had turned more than a few heads, and expectations were high for its performance in VGL proper.
Come June 2022, /bag/ would find itself grouped along with the veterans of /FN@F/, the eternal underdogs of /revue/, and the semen slurpers of /ink/ for their first ever VGL. The first match against /FN@F/ seemed to be set for disaster, with /bag/ going down 0-3 by the 52th minute mark, but an impressive effort from Nice Cock, Sensei and Wolfseggs saw the team stop the bleeding and get two goals back; while the opportunities for the equalizer were present, it unfortunately never came to be by the finest of margins, and /bag/ lost its first match 2-3.
The group's first round of results put /bag/ in a precarious place: a loss against /revue/ would doom the team to an early elimination - the first in the entire VGL. Determined to not let that happen, the team dominated the first half, but could not find the opener. Then the worst happened as /revue/ suddenly powered themselves up to two quick goals, pushing /bag/ towards the edge of the abyss. Fortunately, another heroic effort from the team's leading strikers saw /bag/ obtain the coveted equalizer at the very last second, not only keeping the team alive, but putting it in a prime position to advance as long as they beat /ink/.
With everything on the line, /bag/ proceeded to play an extremely cagey match against /ink/. An early goal by non-medal midfielder Iori put the team in the lead, one that they maintained for the whole game, even if only just. Regardless, this result was enough to promote the team out of the group and into Survival Round 1, where they played the always-unpredictable /indie/. Another tight match followed, as /bag/ went up 2-0 only to blow the lead away, but ultimately walked out with a 3-2 win. But their work was not done for that day, as they faced /PMMM/ next. The team then proceeded to get its first taste of a blowout, and on the giving end: a statement 5-0 win meant the team would see the playoffs in their first ever attempt.
Qualified for the round of 16, /bag/ got matched against none other than /fgog/, one of VGL's most tenured and popular teams. The students did not waver, however, and with an inspired performance out of silver midfielder Your Meds, NOW, they walked out with another 3-2 win. Having reached the final day in its first ever attempt, /bag/ could very well be excused for starting to dream; unfortunately, it was a fleeting one as they were met with yet another 2-3 defeat at the hands of /hanny/ in the quarterfinals. Despite that, the team exited the tournament with their heads held high, and set equally high expectations for its future.
VGL 19
One of the VGLs of all time.
VGL X-2 (and qualifiers)
After their previous performance, /bag/ found themselves in an unusual spot: while they remained high enough in the rankings to remain in pot 2, they had to play in the Qualifiers for VGL X-2. They found themselves grouped against the madmen of /egg/, the veteran Russiaboos of /wtg/, and the eternally-unlucky /uma/. Determined to correct their past mistakes, /bag/ came in guns blazing against /egg/, obtaining a 3-1 win in which the opposing keeper having a godlike performance was the only reason why they didn't get utterly BTFO. In the following match against /wtg/, however, /bag/ found themselves down 3-1 at half time, but a fantastic individual performance from newly-promoted gold striker Atsui saw the team walk away with a 4-3 win, a spectacular comeback in which every goal was scored by the old man. With these wins, combined with the group's results, /bag/ went into their match against /uma/ already qualified. Nevertheless, they went hard against the horsegirls, putting up a relentless offense; however, despite a massively lopsided final statline, /bag/ would ultimately taste its first defeat in the VGL X-2 circuit: 2-1 off an own goal from >Gehennoids.
Having qualified for VGL X-2 proper, /bag/ was rewarded with the group of death: /ggg/, /PMMM/... and /uma/, meaning there would be an immediate rematch. This time, however, the horsegirls put up a legitimate fight, and found themselves up 1-0 until a good effort from Wolfseggs and Horny and Stupid earned /bag/ the equalizer, 1-1. Against /PMMM/, /bag/ would find themselves up 2-0 quickly, but watched that lead evaporate just as quickly as both teams went into half time dead even. Then, a stunning individual effort from Horny and Stupid gave the lead back to /bag/, and a 90+2' finish from Atsui off an expertly-taken free kick from Ako let the team walk away with another 4-3 win.
With these results, /bag/ needed to merely not lose against /ggg/ in order to advance. Their match started in a rough manner, conceding an early goal to /ggg/'s star striker, but the defense held and Atsui scored the equalizer, and the nail-biting match eventually ended 1-1, sending /bag/ to Survival Round 1 once again. The reward for their efforts in promoting from such a brutal group was a match against none other than /hgg2d/, one of VGL's greatest. The students were not at all intimidated, however, and played a near-perfect match against the giants. Unfortunately, the team could not capitalize on its numerous chances, and ultimately lost 2-1 in an incredibly heartbreaking manner despite having dominated the match. Still, the team performed just well enough to earn a spot in /vg/'s roster once again, and restored the fans' faith in it, putting up a good show all throughout their run.
