2012-2014 - Second Founding

Clash of Rivals
The /co/ squad's official inaugural competition was the 2012 4chan Winter Cup, in which they replaced /int/. An eager new team to the pitch with a lot of heavy hitters, fans were often divided about the squad's lineup which was continually on the brink of a reboot. The team's anthem changed back and forth in the year after the formation of the squad. /co/'s original theme was the Justice League theme; but the theme for the Summer 2012 Cup was "Sweet Victory" before being promptly changed back to the JLU theme. "Sweet Victory" fittingly became the victory anthem and has remained as such since 2012. Leading up to the 2012 Summer Cup the team underwent a large roster update to better represent both comics and cartoons equally. In the first year of play the team had a history of performing well but not exceptionally. Former manager SpreadsheetAnon has gone as far to describe the team "criminally average". After a surprisingly poor run in the Group Stages of the 2013 Spring Babby Cup the /co/ squad was relegated for the first time after a late loss in the final match of the group stage. Manager SpreadsheetAnon stepped down after /co/ failed to advance from the following 2013 4chan Spring Babby Cup.

A New Era
In the wake of the Dragongate Scandal the team was promoted back into the Summer Cup. With new managers, Mantis and DocSax, along with a revamped formation and roster, /co/ looked to remain in the Elites and improve on their average play. Sweeping the group with 9 points, they were then one and done after a loss in the Round of 16 to Little Sister /mlp/. In the 2014 4chan Winter Cup they only managed 4 points along with the rest of their group, but it wasn't enough to escape relegation. The team revamped once again for the 2014 Spring Mega Babby, finally retiring long serving player Tucker. However, the new additions to the team weren't enough, as they once again failed to advance to the elites. The 2014 Autumn Babby Cup saw a much greater and long lasting change within the team. Doom, a longstanding member of /co/'s backline, was moved up to become a striker and captain of the squad. However, the filthy peasants of /co/ did not understand Doom's will, which resulted in a failure to advance after being grouped with the eventual 2nd place /e/ and 3rd place /wg/.

2015-2017 - Highs and Lows

An Elaborate Ballet of Bullshit
The team entered the 2015 Spring Babby Cup with low expectations from fans and other viewers alike. A 1-5 defeat to /m/ had many confirm their doubts about /co/. The team eventually stepped upand swept the rest of the group to advance to the Elites once again. Down a player in the Round of 16 match against /b/ after /co/lette managed to earn a red card in the last match of the group stage. Many had doubted /co/ but a surprise performance by The Flash and continued consistency from Doom helped defeat /b/. /co/ earned their first knockout win in the current single elimination format. Doom continued to impress, scoring at least once in every single match /co/ had played in. They made easy work of /n/ and /d/ to make it to the finals against /tv/ for the great Capeshitb owl. The game was close for all 90 minutes as well as extra time, becoming the first cup final to be decided on penalties. In the shootout the teams were tied 3-3 when in a stroke of poetry >The Flash choked his penalty kick. The poetry continued as /tv/'s Capeshit knocked in the last penalty needed for them to win the cup.

Drooping Sales and Diminishing Viewership
After their first top 3 performance, the team had high hopes going into the 2015 Summer Cup. However, they started off the group with a 2-4 loss to rivals /tg/. Hoping to bounce back, they came in hot with a 2-0 lead on /vr/, which suddenly turned into 5 unanswered goals. Ending with a pitufl draw, /co/ saw itself relgated. There were hopes the team would bounce back again during the 2015 Autumn Babby Cup. But they didn't. After securing their best performance less than a year before, they took 40th in the whole cup. That is as many as four tens, and that's terrible. After a failure to qualify for the 2016 Spring Babby Cup, CuriousAnon joined the team as manager. With a fresh face /co/ was hopeful and looked to improve come Autumn 2016. Unfortunately, /co/ again failed to break out of qualifiers, sending the team into dire straits. Team Captain Doom suggested Richards was somehow to blame.

Comics & Cartoons are for babbys
/co/ came flying out of the gates of 2017. They topped their group in the 2017 Spring Babby Cup Qualifiers just barely missing out on the chance to be the sole team to qualify for placement into pot 3. However, that did not deter them. /co/ emerged as one of the two 9 point master race teams in the 2017 Spring Babby Cup after thrashing /r9k/ 5-0, and getting 2-1 wins off of both /ck/ and /u/. /co/ returned to their roots in the Round of 16 vs /wg/ as they were given the dick aesthetically in a 1-3 Loss, ending their babby cup run but not ending their dreams of Summer. Much like the shades of 2015, /co/'s 2017 Summer Cup campaign was much the same. They lost a close 0-1 game to /int/ and got thrashed by /g/ 0-3. /co/ had looked helpless in both games with star striker Doom nowhere to be seen and disappointing performances by set up players Hope Corgi and the newly appointed Bad News. In an attempt to go balls to the wall for a win, /co/ ended up falling flat to /gd/ 2-4. They just barely escaped placing last in the cup. The team looked to Autumn with hopes to shine once again in the lower tier of the cup.

East vs West
Their 2017 Autumn Babby Cup run got off to a solid start. With a decisive 2-0 victory over /k/ and a draw with /vg/, /co/ were looking at very tight group standings going into the last match of the group stage. Needing a win or a draw against /soc/ to advance, /co/ managed to thrash /soc/ 6-1 with a hat trick from Aku and a brace from Doom to propel them to the top of their group. The duo of Doom and Aku worked wonders as /co/ continued to make their way through the knockout rounds. They won 2-1 over /cm/ in the round of 16 and found a similar result against /tg/ in the quarterfinals. The next match versus /x/ was a nail biter. After going down 0-1 after half time, /co/ crawled back thanks to Hope Corgi and Doom to take a 2-1 lead. However, fatigue had set in as they gave up two very crucial goals in the last 5 minutes of play, putting an end to their hopes of a 2nd babby cup final. Instead, they met /a/ in a closely contested 3rd place match that resulted in fullback Pickle Rick killing opposing striker Megumin in the dying minutes of extra time to help force peanlties. This proved crucial as /a/ had to go into the penalty shootout down a medal. Despite Pickle Rick choking the 1st kick, Yotsuba and Boku no Pico were then denied by Gaston. These crucial saves allowed Literally Me to score the final penalty to give /co/ the coveted 3rd place trophy of the 2017 Autumn Cup. They now they looked towards another elite cup, their first Winter Cup in 4 years.

2018-2019 - Middling Success

What could have been?
/co/ again had a very strong start to begin the new year. With wins against /m/ and /wsg/ they topped their group in the 2018 4chan Winter Cup despite a loss to /d/ in the final group stage match. Even after finishing the group stage with only 6 points, /co/ was seen as one of the strongest teams of the cup. However, as had become routine for /co/, tragedy would always strike. In the Round of 16 they took an early lead 1-0 vs /u/ and looked to be in control for most of regulation. /u/ found their way back in thanks to late game heroics at 90+ which sent the game to extra time, where /u/ proceeded to win. /u/ then went on to win the cup as a whole which lead many to wonder what could have been if /co/ had managed to hold on for a win. Still shaken up from the previous tournament, /co/ proceeded to roll over and die once it came time for the 2018 Summer Cup. Losing to /m/ and /n/ this time around, /co/ deployed their tried and true "only show up for the final match after being eliminated" tactic in a thrashing 5-0 victory over /t/. With this last win they managed to save their placement as a pot 1 team in the following Autumn Babby Cup. There they had a very exciting back and forth with /wg/ which ended in 4-4. They then proceeded to quietly take care of /fa/ and /c/ in the group stages to top their group. Once again they would lose to /g/ in the Round of Sixteen. Yet, hopes were high as they once again qualified for another elite cup, further cementing their status as a yo-yo team.

Turning Back Time
The 2019 Winter Cup saw a return to PES16, /co/'s favorite game of PES series. Despite a touching memorial spot on the roster for the late Stan Lee, they once again proved that they truly never got the hang of PES16. Returning to their form of 3 years prior they lost a heart breaker to a double 90+er after leading 2-1 vs /d/ and then went scoreless vs /w/. However, once again winning only when it didn't actually matter, they managed to beat a high powered autopilot /int/ 3-1. Once the cup moved to PES18 for the Spring Babby Cup, /co/ quickly turned their misfortunes around from the previous cup. Winning against the newly founded /aco/ 3-1 and /p/ 1-0 while tying /sp/ 1-1, /co/ once again punched their ticket back to the elites. They beat /y/ 3-0 in the knockouts and went on to lose to /c/ 1-2 late into extra time. This placed /co/ in pot 3 for the 2019 4chan Summer Cup. Here they met some familiar faces. Pitted against their younger sibling /mlp/, they lost when the ball went through goalkeeper Gaston's hands by nothing short of sheer magic. They quickly shook this off with another strong 5-2 victory over /aco/. Next in the group stage was a very tense match versus /his/ who had already been eliminated. Team captain Doom sealed their victory with two goals late into the match. With this win /co/ earned spot in the Elite Knockouts, over a year since their last appearance there. With an apparent uprising of talented autopilot teams in this version of PES, many had dismissed /co/'s chances against autopilot /toy/ in the first round of the knockout bracket. However /co/ proved the critics wrong with a decisive 3-0 win and moved on past the Round of 16 in an Elite cup for the first time in team history. The autopilot menace could not be avoided however, as they lost the next match to eventual cup winners /cm/ in a 0-1 defeat. For the first time since their debut tournament, /co/ finished in the top 8 of an elite cup. They had even managed to break into the top 10 of overall team rankings for the first time, having placed 8th. Was this the beginning of a new era for /co/?

2020-2021 - Struck Low Once Again

Defeated Heroes
Nope! In the following 2020 Winter Cup /co/ started off a bit rocky. A 1-1 draw against /v/ and then another draw against /vg/ who threw choked away a 3-1 lead to end the match 3-3 saw /co/ in desperate circumstances going into the final group stage matches. However there was still hope! /vg/ and /v/ had drawn in lead up to the /x/ match. All /co/ had to do was draw at the very least to even stay alive and possibly make the knockouts! As much as /co/ had improved in their last cup outing, one thing remained the same. Their luck was bound to run out. After going up 2-0 in the match against /x/, /co/ looked completely in control. Much akin to their knockout match years prior in the Autumn Babbys, /x/ proceeded to lay down the law by going on to score unanswered goal after unanswered goal. Four goals later, /x/ defeated /co/ 4-2 and sent /co/ back down the the babbies. However this was a /co/ that had gotten accustomed to playing in babby tournaments and was well known to bounce back after being relegated. It surely wouldn't be that easy to keep them down.

A Redemption Arc?
The team's first array into PES19 was met with completely abhorrent results. /co/ had looked like it was just simply not prepared. With a non-existent offense and a joke of a defense they were lucky not to completely bottom out in the 2020 Spring Babby Cup. A close 0-1 loss to /p/ followed by a 0-3 blowout loss to /wsg/ cut hopes of returning to the Elites short in quick order. Finally after drawing /g/ 1-1, their cycle of yo-yoing came to an end and /co/ would once again would have to play in the fetus qualifiers in the coming Autumn. Just over four years prior, /co/ had begun their last spell in the fetus and they seemed determined not to repeat this slump once again. Taking the time to train and prepare more thoroughly, the they managed to accomplish their goal with a very convincing showing against opponents /vr/, /tg/ and /mu/. Their success continued into the 2020 Autumn Babby Cup. An initial stumble in a 1-1 draw against /int/ was quickly forgotten as Doom, Aku and /co/lette lead the team in four goal rally to defeat /sci/ 4-1. Another win the following week and /co/ topped the group and punched their ticket to Winter. History looked to repeat itself once again in the first round of knockouts as /co/ found themselves losing 0-2 against /vp/. Another late rally saw them sneak out a win thanks to a brace from Aku in the last 7 minutes. After a 4-0 victory against powerhouse /3/, they soon suffered their first defeat of the tournament in the following clash with /o/. Reeling from their last second defeat, the team looked out of sync for the entirety of the 3rd place match. The 2-5 loss to /fa/ would get them 4th place as they turned their attention to the next Elite Cup.

Last Second Victories
/co/ kicked off the 2021 Winter Cup with a lackluster 0-0 draw against /u/ and then went on to scrape out a 1-1 draw thanks to a goal from Doom in the dying minutes of the match. With all 4 teams in the group having drawn their first two matches, /co/ still had everything to play for going into the final group stage weekend. However, they would need a win to advance over their opponent /ck/. Sending everyone forward in a final last ditch effort, /co/ managed to find the back of the net on a head from center back Why Doesn't Batman Just Rape the Joker? in stopage time and then followed that up with a final nail in the coffin on a strike from /co/lette. Topping their group, the team was lucky to have survived but looked forward to facing /wg/ next, but another return to form for /co/ saw them fall 0-4 to their opponent and once again exit an Elite Cup in the Round of 16.

10th Aniversary
The 2021 4chan World Cup saw the return of many of /co/'s most memorable players. The excitement was unfortunately short-lived as the team quickly crashed out of the tournament with 3 straight losses to /r9k/, /int/ and newly founded team /vrpg/. On zero points it was a wonder that the newly assembled team managed to avoid placing last, finishing 62nd out of 64. While taking the place of The 2021 Summer Cup, The special aniversairy tournament did not affect placement into future tournaments. Thus, even with a loss in the group stage, /co/ was still poised to compete in the following Winter Cup in 2022.
