/vg/ League X-2 - The Bronze Bough

/lcg/, being the newest team debuting in VGLX-2, had a lot to prove as they found entry directly into the cup, skipping the Qualifiers that other teams had to fight their way through. Their fortune started with a tails coin as they found themselves drawn into a group featuring two former Champions and a previous Top 8 team in  /akg/,  /sgg/ and  /mmg/ respectively which gave some people the notice that they'll be going home early this cup. Heading into their first match, facing  /mmg/, all eyes were on  /lcg/'s debut and whether or not they can succeed in winning their first match. Starting off strong, /lcg/ managed a few solid attacks but just couldn't convert any into goals when at the end of the first half, BongBong,  /v/'s favourite daughter, makes a horrific tackle from behind on Latin X, getting /lcg/ their first card of the tournament which happened to be a Red, sending her off the field and suspending her for /lcg/'s next match. What followed from there was /lcg/ struggling greatly in the second half to mount their attack having lost one of their most valuable players early on. That all would change as at the 69th Minute, Ship it Monzo would be injured and forced off the field briefly bringing /lcg/ down to 9 men on the field. Holding off /mmg/'s attack for a brief time lacking a vital member would have been death for any other team but as SUDDENLY stopped a vital attack, Monzo made his way back onto the pitch and received a vital pass from You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously leading to Monzo scoring the game-winning goal for /lcg/. /mmg/ didn't go down without a fight however and after seeing off a few more attacks, alongside IDEAL receiving a yellow card for a bad tackle on The Sigma Male, the final whistle was blown and /lcg/ had somehow overcome the odds to take home their first ever victory in their first match, 1-0.

 /lcg/'s second match would see them face off against VGL13 Champions,  /sgg/ lacking their backbone Midfielder in BongBong after her racist murder of Latin X. This match had further stakes as a win here would guarantee that /lcg/ would promote to the Knockout Stages in their first run but many assumed that /lcg/ would crumble under the pressure having lost a medal player. /lcg/ however had other plans as they started the match aggressive out the gate with IDEAL catching a backheel from DANTEEEEHHHHHH and then finding the back of the net, scoring the first goal of the match. /sgg/ weren't ones to back down though as they equalised the score not long after via a shot from Naga Rider, with both teams now fighting back and forth. /sgg/ however would take the lead for the first time in the match as a deflected save from CLAPPED would find Salty Umbrella who put it away. For the first time in their short career, /lcg/ now had to find an equaliser which they fought for until the 68th minute when IDEAL, dribbling past a defender, blasted it into the goal, catching not only his first brace, but /lcg/'s first brace too. Unfortunately things would go south for IDEAL as he made one more clumsy tackle, exhausted for the 78 minutes of play he had done to that point, and received his second yellow card of the tournament which would see him suspended for /lcg/'s next match. From there, the match was even until around the 87th minute, /lcg/ took a brief timeout and showed off their OVERCLOCKED E.G.O for the first time, Seven Sinners Forward. They needed to find one more goal to guarantee promotion and were willing to do anything to secure it. As time began again, a lofted pass from Zenagremlin found You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? who, in one limbillion IQ play, headed the ball off-target leading to the /sgg/ Goalkeeper to make an unnecessary save. Unfortunately for /sgg/, Ship it Monzo was there to catch it and with one jump forward with his head, /lcg/ found their third goal at 89 minutes and from there would find themselves taking him the victory once more.

The final match of the Group Stage however would see  /lcg/ face their toughest opponents yet, 4-time /vg/ League Finalist and VGL18 Champions,  /akg/. Again, many expected this would be a humbling for /lcg/ as they had only barely gotten past their last two opponents and were once against down a medal player as IDEAL would have to miss out this vital match. The winner of this match would top the group and advance directly to the Round of 16 while the other would need to fight through the Survival Round to reach it. As the match began, many would notice that BongBong had made her return to the team, having sat out her suspension, wearing new gear including Latin X's EGO Gift of his sombrero. /lcg/ came out swinging early as a free-kick from BongBong would lead to You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? controlling the ball directly to Ship It Monzo who found the net and gave /lcg/ the early lead. /akg/ showed they weren't playing around as they equalised right back with Zero Sanity scoring off a through ball and then Donkey taking the lead right after to go 2-1 up. /lcg/ however responded right away as a long assist from BongBong found DANTEEEEHHHHHH who scored the first goal of his career with a beautiful header straight into the goal, showing that even though /lcg/ were lacking one of their vital attackers, they could work around it and show their offense wasn't neutered in the slightest. /akg/ however, found one more with Donkey scoring a brace to go 3-2 up against the new stars as the first half came to a close. The second half however would give /lcg/ hope early on as for the first time in his career, off an assist from the Captain, DANTEEEEHHHHHH, You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? would finally find the goal, tying up the game 3-3. From there, both teams had many chances until an erroneous tackle from Dripsault would give /akg/ a free-kick from the center line, which from there would find Donkey who was able to convert it into a goal, giving her another hat-trick of many and sealing /lcg/'s fate to have to fight through the Survival Round to reach the Round of 16. The game would end 4-3 for /akg/ but many would come out detailing their surprise at the showing /lcg/ managed despite missing one of their Medal players in IDEAL and making /akg/ have to really fight for this win. The teams developed a mutual respect for one another, noting that next time, they'll go all out as friendly rivals on the pitch.

As the Survival Round drew close,  /lcg/ would find themselves with a bye, automatically placing them in Survival Round 2, as one of the Top 4 teams that placed Second in their respective groups. /lcg/ would need to wait and see who their opponents would be between  /kfg/ or  /vgt/, which after a hard fought match between the two teams, would create the matchup of /lcg/ versus /vgt/ in SR2. Coming into the match, /vgt/ had matched their previous best round as the previous league they had fallen at SR2 and wished to avoid meeting that same fate again. /lcg/ however had made their first Knockouts on their first run and weren't willing to stop there as the match started and after a beautiful through-ball from Ship It Monzo, DANTEEEEHHHHHH would show why he's the Captain of /lcg/ and take the lead early. From there, both teams would make attempts to score, with /lcg/ finding more success in the first half but still being unable to find a second goal. The second half began and just as quickly as /lcg/ did in the first half, /vgt/ would find the net once more as Tom's Supra skilfully places it past CLAPPED. The second half started badly for /lcg/ as /vgt/ would take shot after shot at the net but CLAPPED refused to let another go past him as he stopped more and more attempts. /lcg/ would finally gain possession of the ball after being sieged upon and made another few attempts at goal until an assist from READ led to the second goal for the team and the second for You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? to take the lead once more. /lcg/ finally got that lead they had been fighting for back. Not long after however, a horrific tackle from THIS SUMMER leads to a yellow card for him and for You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? having to come off the pitch briefly from an injury inflicted by him. BongBong stepped up to the plate once more as she passed straight to DANTEEEEHHHHHH who through quick thinking and complete trust in his team, passed it into open space as IDEAL sped forward to catch it and sink it into the net, bringing /lcg/'s lead up to 3-1, the Ideal goal for the Ideal player. /vgt/ weren't willing to sit back and take it however as Tom's Supra was able to find one more shot and this time he was able to sink it into the net, taking the score to 3-2 which in the end would be the final result. /vgt/ would crash out at SR2 once more while /lcg/, in their first league would make it to the Round of 16, making another friendly rival in the process and for the time, securing the Golden Glove for CLAPPED.

After the Round of 16 draw took place,  /lcg/ would be matched up against the team that topped Group G, ironically the team that caused /vgt/ to actually need to fight through the Survival Rounds to begin with,  /psg/. /lcg/ would come into this match nervous but those nerves were unfounded as DANTEEEEHHHHHH would find the first goal for the team near the end of the first half from a long ball by IDEAL. The second half started just as strong as You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? would score off an incredible pass-chain by the team to go 2-0 and not long after, he would find a second goal to go 3-0, achieving his first brace for the team after 5 games. /psg/ however didn't lie down as right after YWTSGV's second goal, they would finally find the goal and put it away to go 3-1 up. But You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? finally found his answer to that question and by god, yes he did, as he would find one more, scoring the first hat-trick for the team and for himself which ended the match 4-1 for /lcg/ who stamped their ticket to the Quarter-Finals with ease.

The Quarter-Finals approached and /lcg/ would come up against another former finalist team in  /feg/, who had torn through the group stage with ease. But no-one was expecting the result to come as /lcg/ would proceed to dominate the match, finding multiple attempts at goal until Ship it Monzo, off a backheel from DANTEEEEHHHHHH, would make his fourth career goal to put the team 1-0 up near the end of the first half. As the second half begin, the dominance continued for /lcg/ as a long pass from You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? would find the feet of DANTEEEEHHHHHH who had a clear run at the goal and he puts it away, getting his fourth goal for the team. /feg/ would finally manage to put a goal in the net not long after as Sisterfucker would manage to head the ball past CLAPPED and bring the score line to 2-1. DANTEEEEHHHHHH wasn't having that however and the Executive Manager found a perfect laser inbetween two defenders not long after to grab his brace and become /lcg/'s Top Scorer albeit temporarily as not long after in garbage time, You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? finally showed up and puts one more in the net, bringing the end result to 4-1 once more in favour of /lcg/, booking their way not only to the Semi-Finals but guaranteeing them a medal spot on the  /vg/ roster in their first ever run, a feat that hadn't been replicated  /gfg/ back in /vg/ League 11.

With the Semi-Finals arriving not long after their Quarter-Finals victory,  /lcg/ found their next opponent in a team that had been in the VGL since the beginning,  /smtg/. Unfortunately for /lcg/, this is where their miracle run would end as the match started and /smtg/ activated their tried and true defensive strategy which /lcg/ just found themselves unable to crack. Despite many attempts, /lcg/ couldn't put one through the defense while /smtg/ were able to blast two into the back of the net against them, crashing out /lcg/ and handing them not only their first goalless match, but their biggest defeat in a 2-0 loss.

All was not over for  /lcg/ however as they still had one more match to go, this time for the Third Place trophy, or as the Sinners and Limbabs called it, The Bronze Bough. Their opponent  /indie/ had just come off a loss against the soon to be VGLX-2 Champions  /twg/, who achieved back-to-back cup wins. Unfortunately for /indie/, /lcg/ weren't going to back down this time as Ship it Monzo scored an early goal to put them 1-0 up. Not long after, DANTEEEEHHHHHH would slot a second away off a deflected header to go 2-0 up as the first half ended. The second half was more of the same however /indie/ had a close shot that did go in however Baba is Pissed was found off-side and the goal was nulled. You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? decided this game he didn't want to Score Goals and instead gave DANTEEEEHHHHHH one more to put the Captain firmly at the top, as the Top Scorer for the team, giving him a brace. DANTEEEEHHHHHH wasn't finished yet and he was hungry for a third and wanted that hat-trick however fate was not on his side as his final shot of the match would rebound off the post back to an /indie/ defender who cleared it, Unfortunately for /indie/ however, IDEAL was there to collect it and blasted it straight into the goal, scoring /lcg/'s final VGLX-2 goal with the game ending 4-0. /lcg/ had done it and secured the Bronze Bough on their first ever run much to the fan's joy. Now they must look to the future and keep searching for the Golden Bough, forever chasing that lost star. /lcg/ would go on to send their captain, DANTEEEEHHHHHH to the  /vg/ Roster as a silver medal who came out with some surprise success, netting 5 goals for /vg/ alongside a few assists too.

/vg/ League 21 - The Hangover

/lcg/ hoped to build off their Cinderella run in their first /vg/ League appearance. Unfortunately, DANTEEEEHHHHHH had trouble with their scoring mechanics and CLAPPED was not as automatic as in previous matches. You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? actually did decide to Score Goals, putting at least one through the net in each match. Unfortunately, the team had to claw their way to a pair of draws in the Group Stage and was just good enough to earn a spot in the Survival Stage. You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? got a hat trick in the first match of that stage, putting /lcg/ on their robotic back and carrying the team past /alg/ into the last round, but sadly the Limbus ran out of fuel as Charon and Faust couldn't stop YHVH from scoring a late goal to send /smtg/ into the Knockout Round, leaving /lcg/ stranded on the side of the road to their old foe. They would send their star defender, Bongbong, as their  /vg/ rep who was fittingly, a defender.

/vg/ League 22 - The Hangover Part 2

 /lcg/ started the group stages off facing  /gbpen/ at home using an unusual formation setup, unfortunately however while it was good at defending, it was not good at scoring and after /gbpen/ peppered CLAPPED with constant shots, it took three back to back attempts for /gbpen/ to take the lead for the only goal of the match, giving /lcg/ their first true defeat at the Floor of General Works. The team regrouped for their second match, facing off against a familiar foe in  /psg/ whom /lcg/ had defeated back handily during VGLX-2 in the Round of 16. With a revamped formation, /lcg/ came out swinging and with a first half hat-trick from DANTEEEEHHHHHH alongside a goal from Ship It Monzo & BEHEAD HEATHCLIFFS, they gave /psg/ their biggest loss once again in a stunning 5-0 victory for the Limbabs. Coming into the final group stage match, all /lcg/ needed to do was win to top their group. They drew with  /egg/ instead and found themselves back in Survival Round once more where they would face off against  /domg/. They also lost again 1-0 and ended /lcg/'s run as quickly as it begin and mean for the first time, /lcg/ would miss the  /vg/ Roster...

Except through a myriad of reasons, /lcg/ somehow made the roster in the most fraudulent way so in true Limbab fashion, they sent off DEFRAUDED to join the roster to defend for /vg/.

/vg/ League 23 - The Unreachable Star, Reached

Another /vg/ league, another set of rematches in the group stage for  /lcg/ as they would find themselves in a group with  /akg/,  /gbpen/ and  /vgt/, all teams that /lcg/ had faced in prior VGLs to mixed success.

First up for /lcg/ was their rivals,  /akg/ who /lcg/ first faced in VGLX-2 in a thrilling match that /akg/ won 4-3. /lcg/ were the home team once more going up against /akg/, who had not won a game since their last meeting with /lcg/ back in X-2. The match started off scrappy but remained level until deep into the first half when /akg/ would manage to slip two goals by /lcg/'s defense to go 2-0 up going into the second half. /lcg/ would retaliate as The Dream Unending! Gallop Forth Together! (Don Quixote) would go on to score /lcg/'s first goal of the cup to take it to 2-1 but /akg/ would answer back immediately with two more goals bringing the score to 4-1. It would remain this way until the 89th minute where in a huge blunder by the /akg/ goalkeeper, Block Cero, attempting to clear the ball ended up bouncing directly into Don's ass causing what is essentially an own goal but credited to Don herself bringing the final score to 4-2 in /akg/'s favour. Once again, /akg/ had defeated the Limbabs in the Sanity Showdown. On the other side of the group, /vgt/ managed to defeat /gbpen/ 3-2 to take 3 points for themselves which left /lcg/ at the bottom of their group.

In the second match of the group stage,  /lcg/ found themselves facing off against the team that defeated them in groups last VGL,  /gbpen/ and were hoping to regain some lost honour and dignity after their last few defeats. It did not start well though as /lcg/ would once again find themselves two goals down going into the second half as /gbpen/ just found the net each time they had a solid attack in the works and /lcg/ needed to claw their way back as a loss at this point would almost guarantee elimination. /lcg/ tried to scrape together a lick of offense and their first taste of hope would come at 62 minutes where Don Quixote once again found the back of the net in a long, beautiful volley. The game remained scrappy once more until the final ten minutes of the game where a deep pass to Don in the box went awry and the /gbpen/ defender was able to knock it into the center of the box away from her. Unfortunately for /gbpen/ however, /lcg/ asked one simple question, You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? and the answer was a resounding yes when Hurtily found the back of the net at 86' to bring the score to 2-2 where it would remain until the final whistle. /lcg/ had remained alive albeit barely. Once more in the other match of the group, /vgt/ again would win 3-2 in a very close game against /akg/ which guaranteed them through to the Knockouts but also would have meant /lcg/ would be dead had they lost.

Week 3 began with  /lcg/ doing the math to figure out how to escape and it did not look good for them. They required a minimum win by 2 goals to have a chance and needed /gbpen/ to win but by one less goal than /lcg/ had won by or had /akg/ & /gbpen/ drew, /lcg/ would need to win by 3 goals. A true miracle was needed for /lcg/ to even have a glimmer of hope to escape groups once again but despite it all, the Limbabs maintained their fAith that they would somehow pull it off. The match against  /vgt/ started off slow with /lcg/ dominating most of the attack, stopping /vgt/ from even getting a shot at all in the first half but the score still remained 0-0 until the 39th minute when DANTEEEEHHHHHH, who despite not being in the best condition, managed to sink one straight into the goal against /vgt/ to take the lead to 1-0. The hope began to sparkle going into the second half and it began shining brighter when at 60 minutes in, You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? would score to bring the score to 2-0. /lcg/ continued dominating the match and put a third into the net when DANTEEEEHHHHHH WITH THE HEADER managed to sink another. The miracle was in sight as /lcg/ had reached the necessary goals needed to possibly advance but they weren't done just yet. Don Quixote took a shot at goal at 67 minutes in but it was barely saved by the /vgt/ keeper until Ship it Monzo did what he does best and shipped the fourth goal for /lcg/. The hope kept shining brighter when at 80 minutes, The Dream remained Unending as Don Quixote sinked a fifth goal for /lcg/ to cap off the game in a stunning 5-0 victory for /lcg/. Even if the team were to be eliminated here, they would be going out on one hell of a high note. Now all the Limbabs had to do was sit in anticipation at the next match as /akg/ vs /gbpen/ would begin right after. The match seemed to be in /gbpen/'s favour from the get go and they'd prove it as at 21 minutes, /gbpen/'s striker Anon Tokyo would find the net and take /gbpen/ up, 1-0. The miracle for the Limbabs was in their grasp now as /gbpen/ kept peppering the goal with shots, mostly being blocked by the defense or going wide. At 55 minutes, the Angry Gremlin would find the back of the net to bring /gbpen/ up 2-0. The clock kept ticking and neither team could find the goal, the Limbabs getting anxious as any further /gbpen/ goals would lower /lcg/'s chances of advancing on the miracle. The clock hit 90 minutes and the added time was +2. The Limbabs rejoiced, they had somehow pulled off a miracle and escape the group stage once again and when the final whistle blew, the true winners were /lcg/ who were once again in the Survival Round for the fourth time in a row!

The Survival Round began with  /lcg/ finding themselves awaiting to discover who their opponent would be,  /ink/ or  /twg/ and after a hard fought match between the two, /twg/ would emerge the victors, winning 3-0, meaning that the two teams would finally be facing off after their inevitable meeting in VGLX-2 was cancelled by  /smtg/. Their match would close out the Survival Round as the final match of the day with both teams hoping to punch their way into the Round of 16. Both teams took to the field and /lcg/ would find themselves once again trailing going into the second half as S U P R E M E of /twg/ would manage to sink a header into the goal to take the lead at 21 minutes. The second half would begin and a challenge on the Actual Fucking Bear would give /lcg/ a deep angled free-kick. You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? would line up to take it and he was able to line the ball perfectly for The Dream Unending! Gallop Forth Together! to get her head to the ball and tie up the game 50 minutes in. The match would continue with a bit of back and forth between the two teams when suddenly Dripsault was able to lob the ball all the way up to Hurtily who managed to control it with pure finesse and find the perfect route to Don Quixote who was able to get her second brace for the team and her sixth goal overall. The game wouldn't end there though as in the dying minutes, >PONTUS would find a clear chance to equalise but unfortunately for him, he was up against the true MVP of /lcg/, CLAPPED. A miracle save was soon followed up by another as wegh would try the same but once again, CLAPPED lived up to his legacy and denied /twg/ their equaliser as /lcg/ would finally find their way back to the Round of 16.

The draw was shortly after and  /lcg/ would find themselves in ANOTHER rematch, this time against none other than the team that eliminated them the previous VGL,  /domg/ who had topped their group with a respectable 9 points. It was here that /lcg/ would need to break a curse that began in VGL21 and had even continued into this VGL multiple times, they had never been able to defeat a team that they had previously lost to before. /akg/, /smtg/ and /gbpen/, all teams that had slayed /lcg/ before where /lcg/ could not gain that win back. Now, a team that had bested them before lay in front of them and /lcg/ didn't plan to keep that curse going. The match began and /lcg/ came out swinging immediately as a free-kick from Dripsault found You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? at the 5th minute and took the lead 1-0. /lcg/ wouldn't stop there when The Dream once again remained Unending as Don Quixote found the net not once but twice at 29' and 41' respectively, putting her in the lead for the Golden Boot. The second half would be somewhat sleepy compared to the first with both teams making shots but going wide apart from two clutch saves by CLAPPED once again keeping the net clear. The final 10 minutes were all /lcg/ however as at 86 minutes, Hurtily would find his first brace of the league and then at 90+0' he'd find the net once again after a KAPOW by DANTEEEEHHHHHH would ricochet off the back of /domg/'s goalkeeper straight into Hurtily's feet proving that yes, You Do Want to Score Goals, Victoriously! /lcg/ had managed to break a curse that had been haunting them as the final whistle blew and they won 5 goals to Nil punching their way to the Quarter Finals.

 /lcg/ had once again reached the Final Day and this time, they found themselves facing a fellow gook team,  /esg/, who /lcg/ had faced in friendlies prior to the league's start. /esg/ had made their debut this league and were hoping to pull off the same kind of run that /lcg/ had done on their debut 3 league prior. Unfortunately for /esg/ however, /lcg/ had found their form finally and would take the lead late in the first half as You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? achieved his 19th career goal as he blasted it straight into the net from a Monzo assist. The Dream Unending! Gallop Forth Together! followed up in the second half with an assist from Hurtily bringing the lead for /lcg/ to 2-0. /esg/'s Sooniedance soon managed to get the ball past CLAPPED right after to bring it to 2-1 however the Captain of /lcg/, DANTEEEEHHHHHH would find the net after a 3 game drought and extend the lead by 2 once more. The game remained firmly in /lcg/'s control until 86' when /esg/'s Ark-Sized Mephi would manage to sneak one in to bring the score to 3-2 where it would remain until the final whistle. /lcg/ was back in Semi-Finals once again where they would soon face their toughest opponent yet, the Elite and Muscular Horses of /uma/.

 /uma/ had also 9 pointed their group and had dominated all their competition up to this point so  /lcg/ knew they had their work cut out for them if they wanted to reach their first ever finals. The match would begin a while after the quarter finals and both teams would begin peppering each other with explosive shots, abhorrent tackles (including a brief injury to /lcg/'s Ship it Monzo & /uma/'s Big Niger) and each goalkeeper would make clutch saves to keep the score 0-0 going into the second half. However for /lcg/, /uma/ maintained the momentum they had in the first half and quickly managed to slot one behind CLAPPED to take the lead at 52 minutes. /lcg/ began to have flashbacks of VGLX-2 but refused to give up fAith yet. Both teams again remained strong making attempts when at the 90th minute, The Dream Unending took a laser shot at /uma/'s goal...and it was saved just barely by /uma/'s Aniki. It was over for /lcg/, their last attack had failed and they were once again going to be fighting for third place...

At least, that's what would have happened if they lost. The man who had earlier taken an injury from /uma/ found his way into the box, collected the rebounded save from /uma/'s goalkeeper and sinked it. Monzo had shipped it once again to saved /lcg/ at 90+1' to take the teams to Extra Time, the first time /lcg/ had gone to it in their career. The first half of extra time would begin and /uma/ had a clear shot to score only for the ball to barely go wide giving the Limbabs a brief panic and a huge sigh of relief. Unfortunately for /lcg/, disaster struck as a horrific tackle from /uma/'s Goridonna would once again find Ship it Monzo and a tragedy had happened. Monzo was hurt badly and had to be stretchered off the pitch, /lcg/ were down not only a player, they had lost their hero too. /lcg/ knew they couldn't stand a chance to score against /uma/ now they had lost Monzo so they had to hold out for penalties, the ultimate coinflip and hold out they did as /uma/ would only manage one more shot which went wide once again. The clock hit 120' and everyone knew, somebody was getting fucked. /lcg/ were going into penalties down a medal while /uma/ had their full strength ready to go so all /lcg/ could do was hope and pray. /uma/'s first horse went up to bat and by a miracle, CLAPPED managed to stop the ball, saving the first shot. The Actual Fucking Bear for /lcg/ would follow it up by proving bears are superior to horses to take the lead in penalties. /uma/'s Halu Ulala stepped up after and took a powerful shot straight down the center but unfortunately for her, CLAPPED was once again able to stop it and keep the sheet clean for the time being. Don & Hurtily would follow it up with goals of their own, as would /uma/'s Shonbori Rudolf & Goridonna. By this point, the score was 3-2 in /lcg/'s favour where so long as /lcg/ made their next penalty, they'd find their way to their first ever finals. The Captain of Limbus Company General, DANTEEEEHHHHHH stepped up to the plate. He looked at Aniki, at the ball as his destiny lay in his hands. He took the shot...and scored the goal needed to send /lcg/ to the finals! They had finally found their path forward to the finals and their best ever result awaited no matter what.

Not long after,  /lcg/ would find out their opponents was none other than  /utg/, a highly defensive team who, up to this point, had only ever conceded one goal maximum in each of their matches. /lcg/ would need to pull out all the stops if they wanted to take on this defensive powerhouse. The teams would meet at Konami Stadium, the neutral ground for the finals. /lcg/ would win the cointoss and be the 'Home' Team going into the match while /utg/ would be the 'Away' Team. Both teams entered the stadium, anthems playing triumphantly as they basked in the aura having made it this far. The match would begin and through /utg/'s only defensive blunder so far due to Papyrus blocking his goalkeeper from catching an easy pass, /lcg/ would find themselves in the lead as The Dream Unending! Gallop Forth Together! would capitalise on this blunder 3 minutes into the game and once again regaining the golden boot, albeit tied with  /nikg/'s Our King. From there, both teams would begin going back and forth at each other, with /lcg/ only letting /utg/ get one shot off the entire half which was easily saved by CLAPPED and the second half would begin with the score still 1-0 for /lcg/. At 67 minutes however, /utg/'s I CAN'T DO ANYTHING, refused to live up to his name as Jevil once more proved to be a true hero for his team and tied it up, 1-1. We finally had a game between these two defensive powerhouses. The match would slowly turn in /utg/'s favour as they found more opportunities at goal but they couldn't connect due to one of their star players, BAD TIMES, actually living up to his name and being unable to do anything of note for the team.

Then, at 88 minutes, Don Quixote, The Dream Unending, would make a pass to /lcg/'s Actual Fucking Bear on the wing who would proceed to try to pass back only to be intercepted by /utg/'s You're a Schizo Now who would pass it to Jevil only for the Captain, DANTEEEEHHHHHH to press and knock the ball away from him. [BIG SHIT] would collect the ball only for the Actual Fucking Bear to redeem himself and chase Spamton down to steal the ball back. He would look directly at the goal and see one player running into the box and that's when it happened. The Actual Fucking Bear would assist, maybe, and cross the ball directly to You Want to Score Goals? Victoriously? who, at 90+1, would find not only the game winning goal, but the league winning goal as /lcg/ would once again take the lead, 2-1 and give Hurtily his 20th career goal. Not long after, the final whistle blew and /lcg/ had finally done it, they had reached their unreachable star, their Dream was truly Unending and they had finally obtained their first Golden Bough.  /lcg/ then decided to send the hero who died for their sins, Ship it Monzo, to join  /vg/'s roster as their future Gold Medal as it looks like they just might need a hero like him.

Both star an amnesiac faceless protagonist, revolve around a company fighting while traveling in a moving vehicle and both feature Sanity as a major mechanic. These teams found themselves matched up in /lcg/'s debut VGL in the Group stages where /akg/ took the first win in a thrilling match with both teams wanting more in the future.
