/vg/ League 3
/ssbg/ came into the /vg/ league in August 2014 and immediately became a fan favorite due to the fact that every weeb and manchild on 4chan played Smash at some point in their lives or still does. With founding manager Boss Rigger !aKSX6MhrLY at the helm the team looked to be a contender for a top 3 finish despite never playing a single game. However due to unforeseen circumstances Boss Rigger was unable to manage during the /vg/ league 3 and threw /ssbg/'s fate up in the air. However /a/ tester/Assistant Manager CanadaFag !!UBP3WKf+VPY came in to make an export and save /ssbg/, allowing them to stay in for the tournament. /ssbg/ was matched up in Group C with two teams that made it to the knockouts in /vg/ League 2, /acg/ and /rsg/, and hope seemed to dwindle as to whether they had the ability to overcome two proven teams to make it past the groups for the first time. In their first match against /rsg/, /ssbg/ showed the /vg/ league that they meant business and took their first official victory 3-1 and making an opening day statement about their position in Group C. However their next game put them into a questionable position after a 1-1 draw against fellow newcomer /rs07g/, a tie that gave /rs07g/ a chance to overtake /ssbg/ for a chance to advance to the knockouts depending on the final two games of Group C. Looking now to be fighting for a spot in the elimination rounds /ssbg/ had a breather as /rsg/ took their final game over /rs07g/, effectively securing /ssbg/s spot in the eliminations, and now look to take 1st place over /acg/. In the end /ssbg/ came back from 2 goals down, but had to settle for a 3-3 draw with /acg/ as /ssbg/ finished their first /vg/ League in 2nd place in their group and advance to the knockout rounds. In the knockouts, /ssbg/ went on to beat /csgog/ 2-1 thanks to a strong overall match but their blazing first /vg/ league flamed out against the number one seeded /wtg/, where they lost 3-1 to the eventual finalists. After the match interim manager CanadaFag gave up duties to Boss Rigger for /vg/ League 4 and left the team with an impressive first VGL performance and a bright, successful future in hand.
