2021 4chan World Cup

2021 brought 2 new things, PES2021 and a free invite into an elite for the 10th anniversary. Both these things would prove fruitful for a /b/ that had been lacklustre for a while. PES2021 vastly improved the ability for longball offence and /b/ came out in a strong showing against a group of /a/ /pol/ and /g/. Things started off with weak with an anemic 1-0 win vs /pol/ but would rebound into a brutal 6-3 firefight against /a/ that included longcat descending from heaven to bestow a hatrick and Cowboy Bepop getting his own hatrick as part of it. /g/ would also be a firefight, but 2 sided ending in a 4-4 draw. This would start an almost unstoppable force that including /a/ and /g/ would have /b/ score at least 3 goals for 5 games in a row, ending at the; up till then unpenetrable; wall of super defence /p/. A 1-0 win is all /b/ would get, and this momentum shift would hurt in the finals where /s4s/ would take victory. Still /b/ could take solace in their would be 1st place star being taken by the soul of old /b/, where mspaint shitposts and checkems still reside.

2021 4chan Autumn Babby Cup

/b/ was again in group G for the umpteenth time in a row, ready to face old rivals in /fit/ and new ones in /lit/ /sci/ and /u/. Things started off well in a revenge 4-2 against fit where Trolled 2 death, now relegated to defensive midfeild, ran all the way up the pitch for the 4th goal. A 2-1 win vs sci and a 2-2 draw vs lit would leave /b/ in a precarious position should /lit/ win their last game. But /fit/ would show their old form and force /lit/ into a firefight they couldnt win, winning the match 5-3. This left a normally useless match against /u/, but the strats /u/ would learn in this match would prove useful, as /b/ couldnt beat /u/ in the semifinals, altough this was also partially cause of a massive defensive blunder by Boxxy and a breathe somewhere in their general area penalty. There would be some controversy over this penalty, but they moved a gold to a 77 meme player so who cares. Before this /b/ would show some form blowing /sp/ out in the ro16 2-0 which shows promise for winter as /sp/ were also placed well in World Cup hoping to maneuver into to being a strong side. This also included the goal of the tournament, which encapsulated #REKTs showing as having a goal in all but one matches, truly wrecking his opponents

2022 4Chan Winter Babby Cup

Despite a poor showing in the first half of the group, /int/ was raping, i mean "culturally enriching" , everyone else too and left the group standings as a 6-3-3-0 group open enough for /b/ to get the 9-3-3-3 miracle. Unfortunately that other 3 was a now perennial cockblock in the form of /u/. There was hope with a 3-2 /b/ lead going into 4 minutes of overtimes ended with a extremely painful 90+++++++ extra time finisher for Homucifer. /u/ goes through.

2022 4Chan Spring Babby Cup

With only 2 goals scored in a 4 match group /b/ just couldnt keep up. The winner of the group, /gd/, would go on to win the whole tournament so there is some solace in at least having been in a strong group.

2022 4chan Autumn Babby Cup

Despite being beaten hard by the touhou girls and mentally ill vtuber women (god i wish that was me) of /jp/, /b/ bounced back with a 2-1 win against /bant/ that left them able to see hope of promotion back to the babby if they could beat /mu/. In the end though the sound based shitposting of Jeff Magnum was too strong and despite a REKT comeback goal at 73', they just couldnt find anything more in the last 20 minutes of play and were aborted from the fetus.

2023 4chan Spring Babby Cup

Another bleak showing with the only goals being in a 3-2 win over /wsg/. Coincidentally however it was the third time in 2 years (/u/ /gd/ now /co/) that one of their group mates would go on to win the whole thing, which /co/ did beating /an/ in the finals 2-0.

/pol/ - Alt Right Derby, Unholstered Autism, Cancer Bowl

While /pol/ and /b/ get along well as boards (aside from the yellow larpers), both working together in what few raids and happenings that still occur on 4chan and being the last few bastions against the globohomo conversion of 4chan itself, as 4chan cup teams the matchup is volatile with the aftermath being one team being ascended high, and one team falling low. This started with a fetus abortion of /b/ in 2017 autumn qualifiers, then being matched in 2 back to back elite groups that led to pol getting 2nd then 1st in 2019 winter and summer elites, and a 2021 world cup group that sent /pol/ near the spoon and /b/ to 2nd place in a 64 team cup. Whatever happens if these teams meet in a group someone is going far and someones getting fucked.

Trivia

• In the original 4chan cup, /b/ had lower stats than the rest of the teams (because /b/'s users were hated so much by Germanbro) and avoided finishing in last place. Instead, /soc/ was the team to get last place in that cup.
• Two of /b/'s past anthems were determined with GET threads on the board. This led to /b/ having Undersea Community as the anthem since 2012 to Spring 2013.
  • During the Spring season of 2013, /b/ got a Boxxy dubstep remix as the anthem for a few matches due to another GET thread. This happened because the manager Cosa Nostra was on a lengthy hiatus and was not back by the time that season's cup started. Once he came back, the anthem was changed back to Undersea Community due to that being changed without his permission.
