The /sp/artans Football Club is a simulated professional football team founded in August 2011, representing /sp/, the 4chan board dedicated to sports. They won the 2012 4chan Summer Cup before the title was revoked due to the Dragongate scandal. They also won the 2013 4chan Winter Cup, making them, for a time, the first and only two-time Elite competition champions. They also held the number 1 spot in the cup rankings from January 2012 to May 2013, currently the longest such reign, and from March to May, 2017.
The club's popularity among the proud posters of /sp/ has made them susceptible to negative press. Accusations of rigging lead to the Match Fixing Scandal in early January 2012. The team was implicated in the Dragongate scandal as well. Their almost-systematic shitposting on other boards during /sp/ Cup participation is often cited as one of the possible reasons for the global cup ban by 4chan moderation.
/sp/'s main rivals are, without a doubt, /a/, who knocked them out of the cup twice on top of being dirty weeaboos, but they also have minor rivalries with /k/, /toy/, /tg/, /v/, /fit/, and potentially any board who knocks them out of the cup (/gd/ and /i/ we're looking at you) or have a fanbase as rambunctious as theirs.

2020
2020 Spring was the introduction to PES 19, which showed a lot of promise to be miles above the boring slurp-fest of PES 18. With JohnnyBravo becoming active again and Colliebro returning to manage /sp/, new life was pumped into the team. Prior to the cup, long time captain TSUUUUUUUUU was demoted to silver due to his poor performance in the previous babby cups, with Punished Messi taking his place as captain. In addition, Kobr was added to the team as a gold player in memorial to the real life passing of Kobe Bryant, a move that would prove invaluable to the team. /sp/ narrowly missed competing in the first Babby Cup Qualifiers of the team's history, and were drawn into Group B with /fit/, /v/ and /tv/, in what would prove to be one of the best groups this cup got to see. Prior to the cup, long time captain TSUUUUUUUUU was demoted to silver due to his poor performance in the previous babby cups. In addition, Kobr was added to the team as a gold player in memorial to the real life passing of Kobe Bryant, a move that would prove invaluable to the team. In the first game against /fit/, /sp/ sought to defeat the only autopilot in the group. Punished Messi opened up the scoring at 28', getting a throughball in center and scoring a brace at 33' off a great setup from Kobr in a similar play, to put the team up 2-0 at half time. Kobr would continue his strong performance by pushing through defenders and scoring to put /sp/ up 3-0, before George Costanza would put in a header at 89' to close the game out 4-0. A statement win, and the first win since the 2018 Summer Semi-final. The second game against /tv/ would prove to be a bigger challenge. At 26' a For You cross into the box resulted in Sheev heading in the first goal of the game. Dr. Ivo Robotnik would soon after botch a sliding tackle that left just enough space for Kobr to push past the defense and put in a tying goal at 34'. However, For You would end up with a quickoff abuse goal on a cross from Gul Dukat that would see /tv/ up 2-1 at the half. Kornheiser would spot TSUUUUUUUU in the box with a pass that saw Robotnik blow his coverage a second time to leave Penaldo open to take a shot for the 2-2 tying goal. Gul Dukat was putting in more work when he started a tic-tac-toe play with Sheev and For You, who finished it to take the lead 3-2 for /tv/. /sp/ wouldn't be able to battle back from this, as Sheev would score again at 85', with Really Raimi? adding salt to the wound to extend the lead to 5-2. Kobr would be able to score a 90+ goal that ended up being crucial to the final result of the group stage, but for now /tv/ would take a deserved win. The third game was the e-Sports Derby against /v/. Going into the match, /sp/'s prospects looked similar to what they faced the previous 2 babby cups. A win and in scenario, in which they had failed each time previous. Sanic proved how fast he is by opening up scoring at 11'. /sp/ answered back when George Costanza scored at both 22' and 32' for /sp/ to take the lead 2-1. From here on out the game was a war of attrition. The second half saw /sp/ hemmed up in their half of the pitch, shitting their pants trying to keep the ball out of the net to the point where they didn't manage to get a shot in the second half. /v/ threw everything they could at /sp/, who with the help of a couple kapows managed to bend but not break, securing the victory and guaranteeing promotion to the first elite cup since 2019 Winter. First up though, was the knockouts.
The Round of 16 saw /sp/ draw /adv/ as their opponent, a team who had scratched out a promotion after finishing with 4 points. Evidently they came to play when Suicide scored at 10' to put /sp/ on their heels early, but TSUUUUUUUU would soon respond with a tying goal at 14'. Some spaghetti in the box occurred when an attempted clear ricocheted off the chest of an /adv/ defender, letting Costanza pick up possession and thread a pass through to Messi who took the lead for /sp/ at 29'. Kobr then got a cross in the box to Messi who put it in for a brace at 33'. /sp/ held a 3-1 up until just before sub time, when Costanza headed in a corner kick to secure the team's spot in the final day. But not before 18-1 under the guise of Timothy Bradley decided to kick the ball through his own crease to a wide open Femanon to score a free consolation goal. At the end of the day, /sp/ had the 4-2 win and would move on to the Quarter Final. Facing /s4s/, /sp/ faced a rematch of the Winter 19 group stage game that ended with an embarrassing blowout loss. This game would prove the opposite. Holding at 0-0 for the majority of the match, both teams would play solid defensively. It lasted all the way up until 71' when Costanza was able to get a clean shot past the keeper. Not long after, non medal DMF Gimi would score a rare insurance goal to put the game out of reach for /s4s/. With the Winter 19 loss avenged and the best babby finish guaranteed, /sp/ would move on to their first babby cup semi-final game. The semi-final saw /sp/ face off against /d/, who managed to get to a semi by drawing all their group stage matches before waking up in the knockout stage. Messi and H*nd H*lding would score quick goals at 9' and 14' respectively to kick off the action, which saw both teams find success with sustained pressure in the opponent's half. Messi knocked in a brace goal at 36' to put /sp/ up 2-1 all the way to just past sub time, where H*nd H*lding scored her own brace to tie the game at 69' (nice). No Cock Like Horsecock would let /d/ take their first lead of the game at 81' before an answer from Costanza at 86' tied the game back up. 2 period of extra time were played, but with the score remaining 3-3 it was off to penalties. Kobr and Messi, the two gold players, shanked their first two shots by putting them into the keeper. This put /sp/ heavily behind when /d/'s first two shooters Horsecock and Futa/Alternative sank their shots. Costanza kept the team in it while Monster Girl Encyclopedia was successful on her attempt. /d/ just had to score another to win it. But /sp/ wouldn't quit, TSUUUUUU and Perro Caca were successful on their attempts while >De Gay stopped the last two /d/ shooters to move on to sudden death. This is where the ride ends unfortunately, as Muscle Goddess would sink it before El Ogro De La Norde's shot was saved. /d/ would go on to win the final match and the babby cup, and there is no shame in losing to the champs. Although /sp/ lost, the third place game still had something to play for. /wg/ lost the 2-3-5 vs 2-3-5 match with /wsg/ and thus faced /sp/ in the third place match. Another tight defensive matchup, Messi helped /sp/ take the lead early after scoring at 12', but not long after /wg/ would answer by finding Cunt Destroyer in the box for a tying goal at 32'. The 1-1 tie lasted most of the game, with both teams fighting hard for chances while trying to limit the other team. Finally, at 84' TSUUUUUUUUUU snuck a shot past Bliss to push /sp/ ahead 2-1 late in the game. Although they tried, /wg/ was unable to answer, and the game ended. /sp/ had won a third place trophy for the first time since all the way back to 2011 Summer. With trophy in hand, /sp/ look ahead to Summer, where they'll finally have another chance to bring football home
Colors and Mascot
/sp/ is maroon, orange, black and white.

For the first 4chan World Cup, /sp/ wore an all white kit with a simplistic green logo. Before the 2012 Winter Cup the team wore blue but eventually settled on the current iconic maroon and orange home kit, based on real world Italian divegrass team AS Roma. For away matches, /sp/ wears solid black kit with orange details. To continue the theme that the club's number one goalkeeper is DA BEARS, the uniform for the goalkeeper is a near representation of the uniform of the handegg team, the Chicago Bears.
The mascot of the club is Paul the Goat (named after the legendary Paul the Octopus), who has gained worldwide fame for his alleged psychic powers. When presented with two boxes containing goat food decorated with the club crest of the two teams who are about to play in a game, Paul has successfully picked the winning team 100% of the time from 25 attempts.
Two logos have been used to represent /sp/ Football Club. While one is the official logo and the other pointless, both are alright to use when depicting the /sp/ Club.

Supporters
/sp/ is known to have some of the most passionate fans in the game. Due to this passion, /sp/artans are often seen as whiners by other boards, especially in the wake of the 2012 SC Bracket Scandal. Due to this, /sp/ was the winner of the Worst Fans Award in that cup. However, /sp/ does boast some of the most supportive fans in all of 4chan, participating in the most watched game of the 2012 4chan Summer Cup. After claiming victory in this cup, /sp/ was flooded with celebratory "MESSIMESSIMESSI" and "THANK YOU BASED TORRES" posts.

| The Derby of /sp/art/a/ The biggest derby in the game of virtual divegrass–El Classico. A battle between GOATs of /sp/orts and Men of /a/nime to see who are the greater champions. This derby's history runs all the way back to the 2011 4chan Summer Cup semifinals–a moment /a/ refers to as Yamakan saving Anime and /sp/ remembers as BasedChoke. They did not meet again in an official match until the 2013 Spring Babby Cup friendlies, which /sp/ won. They met twice more in Official Cup games for the 2014 4chan Winter Cup round of 16 and 2015 4chan Spring Babby Cup group stage, with /a/ winning both. |

| The Not-Sports Derby Whenever there was a WWE thread on /sp/, there was always at least one person who told WWE fans that pro wrestling is fake and that it belongs on /asp/. Eventually, /sp/ managed to get wrestling threads officially kicked off the board with the help of Hiroyuki Nishimura, who succeeded m00t as owner of 4chan in 2015, stoking the rivalry ever hotter. In the 4chan Cup, these teams have completely different mentalities, with /sp/ angrily sacking managers if they don't win cups and /asp/ exercising more patience with their managers. The two teams finally met in an official Cup match during the 2017 4chan Winter Cup quarterfinals, which /sp/ won 3-1. |

| The e-Sports Derby /sp/ and /v/ are intense rivals in a feud that is essentially the alphas vs. the weeaboo gaming nerds, and this rivalry was only made worse after /sp/ sent /v/ to the Loser's Bracket in 2011. /v/ is also jealous of /sp/'s endless creativity, epic maymays and their ability to handle the banter. Despite this, /v/ took control of this rivalry for years, defeating the GOATs in the 2013 4chan Summer Cup round of 16 and twice in the 2016 4chan Spring Babby Cup–in the group stage and quarterfinals. This streak was broken in the 2017 4chan Winter Cup when /sp/ eliminated /v/ in the round of 16. /sp/ leveled the series in the 2017 4chan Autumn Babby Cup with a 1-0 win over /v/ in the group stage. |

/sp/'s current home is the Transatlantic Semen Pipeline Stadium, named in remembrance of Murrika's selfless donations to impoverished Yurop.

- Of the 10 teams to win a 4chan Cup elite tournament, /sp/ is the only one to win every match on their way to the title.
- Closest calls: /a/ won 2011 Summer 8-0-1 when it was a double-elimination tournament. Under the two-stage format, /wg/ (2013 Summer), /trv/ (2014 Winter), /tg/ (2015 Winter) and /mlp/ (2015 Summer) all won with 6-1-0 records.
- /sp/ became the first board to have a sticky thread for a 4chan Cup event during the 2012 Winter Cup, a feat that remained unique to the board until /s4s/ had their own sticky for the 2017 Summer Cup.
