VGL 17-18
How many clocks is this gonna take? Did you even read GameTora?
Debuting in /vg/ League 17, and immediately losing all of their games, /uma/ was sent to the /vg/ League 18 Qualifiers six months later. And then lost 2 of their 3 games, one in part to Halu Ulala getting run over by /tf2g/'s Pottis, to definitively not advance.
With an unimpressive record of 1-0-5, /uma/ looks to the next VGL for a chance to get past the starting gate once more.
Maybe Taabo will come out by then.
VGL 19
Taabo did not come out by /vg/ League 19, but /uma/ trot on to the field anyway. An uninspiring 1-0 loss to /fgog/ was the beginning of a swift and brutal League. The following game was another single-goal loss to /aceg/ left the team with no chance of escaping the group and only playing for pride. However, even that would be dashed by the final match, where striker EI EI MUN would score the team's first real hat-trick before losing to a 90+1 goal. The team finished 46th, a new best in /vg/ League proper.
VGL X-2
With Taabo finally coming out, the team was sent back to qualifiers. Placed into the /vg/ League X-2 Qualifiers, /uma/ actually managed to fight their way out of them! With a bit of luck and a bit of blowing out some engineers by 5 goals, /uma/ even topped their group (and the Qualifiers as a whole!), earning them a spot at the big dance - /vg/ League X-2.
Despite finally getting a few wins in qualifiers, /vg/ League X-2 wasn't as smooth for /uma/. They managed to hold on in a rematch against /bag/, resulting in a 1-1 draw, but the following 2-1 loss to /ggg/ nearly sealed their fate. Unfortunately, a miracle didn't happen, so their final match against /pmmm/ was fought for nothing but pride... And it ended in yet another loss. Thanks to the single point they got from a draw, /uma/ finished 43rd, their new personal best. Knowing that they can actually win more than once, umas go on another 6-month training session, getting ready for their next league. Who knows, maybe a little trip to France will help them improve?
VGL 21
Well, about that... /uma/ did look much better this time around, winning all of their friendlies, and they even managed to get 3rd place in New Thread Cup 2! Thanks to that, expectations for the team were high in /vg/ League 21. Their first match against /dbg/ only put those expectations higher, as /uma/ managed to put up a good fight against them, resulting in the first 2-2 draw of the league. Benis Park, the fresh face on the roster, was the MVP of this game, as despite her condition and not being used to Japanese Racetracks, she managed to score a goal and was a vital player for /uma/. Hyped up, /uma/ went against /wtg/, expecting an easy win, but instead it was a beginning of their downfall, as the new and improved /wtg/ completely destroyed them, resulting in a 4-2 loss. The team, now on fraudwatch, was on life support once again - except this time, their fate was completely in their hands. Their final match against /revue/ was starting off strong, as Ulala got a brace and even managed to put the team in the lead for a moment. However, /revue/ was not done just yet, and after reviewing(heh) their tactics, they managed to come back and killed /uma/ with another 4-2 loss.
And thus, /uma/ died on the exact same result as the last time, without improving at all. Oh well, at least we escaped the qualifier curse. But can /uma/ do better? Will they finally get their first non-qualifier win? Will they ever get out of the groups? Maybe we'll find out next time.
